Basic functions, no hand book.
Washer water is located at the front of the car behind the head light. You can see the lid. I think its on the right. Coolent is located in the same place but on the left. It has a yellow cap. Welcome to the Z forum. Stuart

air con
Auto: Press this and the Air Con will blow hot or cold air to make the temperature inside the car the same as the one selected. Rec: Recirculate, press this and the Air Con will take air from inside the car for use. This is good for when its too hot or too cold. Cooling down already cold air from inside the car give a better result than using 25C outside. It is also good for when you are through an area which smells or stuck behind a smelly truck. If activated will return to normal mode after 20mins or so for safty reasons. Eco: Economy mode. This doesnt use the Air Con compressor which means it wont use more petrol like normal Air Con does. This means that the air that comes out isnt as cool as it would normally be. Off: Turns it off ;) Hope this helps Stuart

My big race
Mine aint well modded but its moded enough to make a difference. For modding there is a myth that you can hang a air freshner on the mirror and it will add another 50bph. Costs are about the same until you get to the big jobs. To get 400+bhp is easy to get in a Z. Stuart

It looks rediculas but it works
Its a great way to test for boost leaks. :D Blow air into it and listen for any air coming out. Fortunatly there where no leaks, but still baffled why Im still over fueling. Stuart

My big race
There is a very good write up on TwinTurbo.net about the difference between the Supra and the 300ZX. Makes interesting reading. Stock there will be very little difference between them and the difference of a driver will show. The Supra people will say its faster and bla bla bla bla bla..... ect. But reading what people say about them and seeing times of them 1/4 mile when stock, they are no where near what they suposidy say they are. I have a vid of a stock Supra against a Skyline I think it was. It's one of those Japanese programs so these are pro drivers and the 1/4 mile for the Supra was 14 seconds. Not slow but not what people say they are. My Z is slightly modified yes. Stuart

Honda NSX
From performance videos they are not faster than the Z, even though I though they would be. Apparently 2nd spoils the car a little as you go go over 70mph in 2nd making a it very long gear. Its a excelent looking car though :D Stuart

Anyone tried these?
Get a little machine like me that tells you your pressure while you are in the car and moving. It so far has detected 3 punctures and 2 leaking valves. It also compansates for the increase in pressure due to heat and alarms if your pressure get too high, to low or if the temperature gets too high too. Stuart

My big race
Its nice to know that the Z still has it. The RX7 is an amazing machine but only the later models, like 1999 onwards, which still cost £25,000+ are the full 280bhp. Normally they are about 240-260, but they are very light and amazing machine. Subarus are just crap all over ;) Some one in my street is thinking of getting a Supra, I dont think he knows that much about them, just TFATF (The Fast and The Furious) watch. When he was talking at the back of my mind I was thinking, I will smoke that. Hehehehe. ;) Good one! Stuart

Just fitted my new RAD easy as pie lol
My Z has never gone over 80C at idle. It went to 90C when I was doing the O2 test and had to rev the engine to 2000rpm for 2 mins before the test would start.

TVR vs Z
I reckon they would use 3.5 tio 4.5 turbo configuration. I agree with Dave about the 1.5 Turbo and no fueling. Again they had to over take on the track on not in the pits. I loved the 3-4 second pitstops. Also all the cars started with a full tank or enough fuel to last them till the end, so the start was a level playing field, not this one is on a two stop and ones on a three stop. Cos what would happen is the three stop shoots ahead, no action there and because the pit stops are staggered they are never close to eachother again. Also with the turbo you could turn up the boost and give your car that extra speed, at the risk of blowing an engine. 1st v 2nd, 2nd could up the boost to catch up, which 1st wouldnt really want to risk it. Makes great viewing. Stuart

I always wanted one of these as a kid...
Did you read all the laws against it though. The only thing that could stop the Super Hero Car was government red tape. Stuart

TVR vs Z
Speed 12 is a 7.8litre and has never been released. F1 cars are 3 Litre and can be either what ever engine configure you want. The early Ferrari used V12 while every one used V10. The engine ended up being too thirsty so they changed to V10 after about 2 seasons with the V12. F1 cars used to be 1.5litre turbo engines and when unresticted could produce over 1000bhp. Dont know how long they would last at that power though. Grant, if you want you can send the Vid to me and I will put it on the net. Stuart

cruise control!
I think the Jap spec only works between 30mph and 70mph The UK spec works between 30mph and 100mph. Stuart
