Pics & Vid: Indiglo dials
LOL No its there. The camera doesnt pick up the needle light well. The dials will be 180mph UK spec ones. Stuart

Wahay....Just got my arse out!
It forgives you this time. I t wont forgive you every time. That is why I put traction control on my car. If you watch that vid of the dials I made, in the first few seconds I turn right onto a main road. My foot was virtually to the floor when I pulled out. In the wet and over white lines. The traction control stopped the rear kicking out, you cant really hear it activating. Stuart

Pics & Vid: Indiglo dials
Yeah that is the problem, the camera doesnt pick them up. You can see the needles easily normally. The Speedo is on the brightest setting the dash allows. It is readable but the camera set up to the brightness of the other dials so the speedo gets under exposed and doesnt look very bright, but it is no where near as bright as the glow ones. Stuart

Blitz Sonic Power filter...whaddya think?
A heat sheild is good for filters in engine bays. But the air filter is infront of the radiator and higher than it too so not much heat will get there. Also the air reaches the air filter via tubes which originates from the bottom of the front bumper. So I think there is very little heat reaching the air filter anyway. Stuart

Pics & Vid: Indiglo dials
I have been sent an advanced copy of the indiglo dials which are currently being made for the UK 300ZX. The ones sent to me had the 300KPH speedo which I didnt put on as it has no corrolation with the UK dials and I would be pulled over for speeding or slowing. (Is that a crime ? ;)) These pictures don't really show how bright these dials are. The camera has a tendency to over expose so you lose colour and contrast a little, but you can compair it to the brightness of the original speedo. The first picture is blured because I had to hold the camera very still for a longer exposure because it was dark. Here is the draft for the UK MPH ones I have made a small video of what it looks like when driving. Right click save as or just click HERE to down load the video. The video should be about 5mb. In the pack I got rev counter, speedo, oil pressure, boost, water temp, fuel and that 300ZX panel, which can go on either the boost area or the oil pressure. As well as that there are instructions on how to install, powerpack for the dials and all wires needed. Installation was quite easy but time consuming because you have to get things right and there is often little room to work with. The wiring of the dials to the power is really simple. Wire the power to a dash bulb, and out of the pack is a wire with 6 plugs on. Just plug a dial into a plug. The power does make a little hummm noise when on and I thought it was going to drive me made. But once I stored it behind the dash and I had everything back together, you cant hear it. If you hear a hummm on the video sound, that the camera motor going. I have not driven with the dials during the day so I dont know what its like yet but I cant see any problems. :D Any questions? what do u hate most about UK ?
Can I say, I dont hate this country. I love it. I am British through and through. Yes crime is getting higher, no thanks to the government, but is still no where near the levels of else where in the world. There are many problems in every country. If you where French you would be spineless, Italian you would be a long haired puff, so on and so forth. Just be thankful that you government doesnt kill you like in some countries. Be thankful that rebel armies dont just walk into your town, raping women and killing children and the men. There are a lot worse places in the world than Great Britain, but there are not many places which are better off. Sorry but I had to say something. Stuart

I cant see how people say the 350Z has more curves than the 300ZX. The 350Z has more angles on it. Stuart

New Zealand
When I went on holiday to Spain, the bartender in one of the pubs was a New New Zealander he said that the weather is a lot nicer than in the UK dispite people saying its the same. Also he asked us what type of house we could get with £100,000 and we told him, a modest 3 bedroom semi detached. You can get a 5 bedroom detached for that in New Zealand. Some one at work goes there playing Billiards every year and he says the roads are empty. You can drive for hours and not see another car. Another person (cant remember who) went on holiday with his wife and went shopping in the town centre and asked where every one was because it was so empty. She was told that this is a normal Saturday. I must say you will get a reputation for sheep sh**ging when you live in a country where the people are out numbered by sheep. :D If that is what you want to do, do it. I dont blame you. I wish I could do it myself. Stuart

ECU Diag starts http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=efec&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=48&design=default&total=190 Basically. Find the ECU, under the passenger's feet. There is a wooden panel, take it off and you will see it. On the left side of the ECU is a small flat head screw. Turn your ignition on turn this screw fully anti clockwise wait 2 seconds and then turn it back. The Check light will flash on your dash as well as a little light next the the screw you just turned. You will get a number of long flashes and a number of short flashes and then a slight pause to symbolise it starting again. Count the number of long flashes, this is your tens. Count the short flashes. This is the units. For example if you get 4 long flashes and then 2 short flashes, it's code 24. Then look up the value on this page. http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=efec&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=51&design=default&total=190 This tells you what the numbers mean. Find out and get back to us. ;) Stuart

driving instuctor
Dont forget its long hours too. My instructor used to tell me her day, some days working till 10 at night because that is the only time some students have time to learn. plus you will be sat in your car all day. Then there is the car if you go your own. Lots of people goto a person because of what car they will learn in. It was a Corsa GSI when I was learning. Very powerful for a learner. Also the value of it will plumit too because of the high milage. Stuart

Toyota Soarers
Interesting reading. I have often wondered what the reputation of the 300ZX is like with other car owners. I hear mostly bashing of it, but there is no lack of open mouthed gawps from Corsa, and other, drivers, as well as them trying it on at the lights. Most probably just wanting to see it go. Stuart

nice Zed shots all three generations
I remember reading a review, while waiting at K&N's HQ in Warrington why they attempted to put the air filter on my car, of the 240Z with the Porsche 911 (of the same year) and some cheap Ferrari. The end result was that the Ferrari was disapointing, the 911 was great but the 240Z was just better. But for the choice in order went, Ferrari (Because its a Ferrari), Porsche (because its a Porsche) then 240Z dispite them saying it was better than the Porsche and cost 1/4 of the price from new. I Want To But One - A Zx That Is
Like b19rks says. If it is just 2 seats its 100% a Japanese Import. Another way to tell, is the badge inbeteen the headlights. If it's got a Nissan badge its UK, if it has a Z badge it's a Japanese import. Stuart

950miles in 2 days
Thing is they can't prove they didn't. Unless they went to the trouble to trace a dead persons movements for the last few days of their life. Too much time just for a fine. About these speed cameras that use road sensors. Are they the weight sensors which are used for traffic lights and such? Stuart

You can see why the 240Z was such a great seller. It's beautiful. At a time when all the cars where blocks this beauty came out. I have seen a few round lately and I can stop looking at it. Stuart

Help!!
My Z immobilser the dash lights dont come on with the ignition if the immobiliser is on. My Corsa immobiliser allows the dash to come on with the ignition but doesnt start the engine. Cat 2 immobilisers I think have to be a 3 point immobiliser. Ignition, starter and fuel pump. It could be the immobiliser is playing up and wont give power to the starter. Does the pump start when you turn the ignition on. You can hear it for about 2 seconds. You can hear it better from out side, so try get some one to stand at the back of the car and listen. Stuart

Help!!
So nothing happens when you turn the key? Doesnt starter motor no noise? Do the lights dim? Stuart
