  1. Why do you need 2 new filters? Whats wrong with the ones you got with it? Stuart
  2. Just making sure.
  3. When you cleaned the throttle bodies did you reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for an hour or so? Stuart
  4. Its not even a good likeness or anything.
  5. No. Yet another fad. They all say theirs is the best and they all say the others dont work.
  6. I emailed them and they said they didnt have a 300ZX
  7. No the Boost Controller was reckoning it was running at 1.2bar. It was set at 1.2 bar but the hole was so big most of it was coming out. I reckon only 0.7bar or less was actually reaching the engine. Stuart
  8. When is the next thing in Wire (Warrington) ;) Its so close I may as well go and see what it's like. Stuart

Do you not remember that the police started to do on the spot emissons test with a £100-£500 fine (depending on how bad it was) for people whos emissions where to high. Didnt last long as all the people who took it to court stated that to test the emissions a specialist machine costing thousands has to be used and is not a thing that people can check themselves. Personally I think its was just a ploy for police to get more money. Stuart

I had a quick race with an Evo 8. On the East Lancs there are parts where there are 3 lanes just before and after trafic lights before it goes back into 2. He was behind me we where doing about 40, I see him pull out into this 3rd lane as we just come up to some lights, and he floored it. I dropped in to 2nd and floored it too. Hehehe. He went backwards ;) Daddy's car to, cos he was only about 20.
  11. Rears are easier
  12. Hard on to fathem. Mongoose are not the bees knees of exhaust. They are popular because they look good, sound good, give reasonable performance and are a good price. This power flow may not be inferior to Mongoose, it fact it maybe better, its cheaper because it is not as popular. The Mongoose on mine cost £400 fitted 3 years ago, probably before the popularity went up. Stuart
  13. if you want to be specific. its under the grey/black panel drivers side next to the rear seat, down where the seat belt goes. You have to take the seats up anyway to get to it. I thought the ABS light on the dash flashed the same code as the one on the ABS ECU. Would a ConZult show the ABS error? Stuart
  14. Sorry, yeah the ABS ECU is under the back seat behind the driver. The actuator is in the boot
  15. Open the boot and its under the big plastic cover which goes the suspention mount. If you look one side plastic cover is bigger the other. Its under the bigger bit on the right. Stuart
  16. PTU is located on the front of the engine on the left. Its a square box (Usually black or silver with fins on it) with a big plug on each end of the square. Take the PTU off and clean the connectors. If that doesnt fix it, you can try to repair the PTU or order a new one. If you need a new one buy it from the US, or try to get a 2nd hand one from AndyZ Stuart

Some people say that the vibration is off putting, and some people will take the foot off the pedel in shock of what it felt like, thinking there is something wrong. You can tell when it activates, it sounds like dripping bricks. If you skidded, the ABS probably just activated just once and wasnt needed again, so the ABS noise was hidden in the little screech. When it rains again, make the wheels lock up so you know what it is like. The brakes dont forget are now 10 years old or so, which means that the servo, master cylinder and all the connections and pipes are 1 years old. If you got into a 2000 spec 300ZX, the brakes would probably be fantastic or at least better than what they are now. Stuart

The ABS detects it when its locked up, so it has to lock up for a fraction of a second before it knows it. The pedle wont move. Nissan spent a lot of time and money developing it so there is no rubbling or shudder through the ABS when its activated. I know that the ABS sensors dont work at low speeds, less then 10mph or so. Stuart
  19. I dont understand how the spoiler will be able to move then.

Take the hose off the bottom or use the plug at the bottom of the radiator ;) A few months ago I bought something which came in 2 tubes to flush it. Following the instructions I actually filled and emptied it about 6 times that day. Worth it I think as I now know its done. Stuart
  21. So what you want is really a normal spoiler which is virtually flat when you are at low speeds and then gradually increases the angle with speed. Porsche has it I believe. But they can do it as the spoiler is a huge thing ontop of the rear of the car. It you get ones on stands. (Lets face they look a little silly on normal cars but they are the best performing ones.) You will need to have quite big motors on it. The Firstly to move the spoiler, and then to be able to move the spoiler against such a strong force. If you can do it you can have different settings like. Low drag so the angle doesnt increase as much or as quick. Or a racing setting which gives you plenty of downforce for longer. If you want to be really clever and if the motors can take it. Have a sensor the the brake so when the brake is pressed the angle is increased to the max to slow you down quicker. Stuart
  22. So you are talking about an automatic adjustable spoiler.? Stuart

The connections are for the cat temperature sensors. Obviously test pipes have no cats so there is no where to put them

Pre 1992 you can remove the cats legally After 1992 you cant.
  25. That is the time it takes for the MP3 player to make an index of the CD. For ones which dont use ID3 its quicker and that is the reason some dont put it on. Stuart
