Some inductions made such a smooth air flow it would cause a vortex around the MAS. The air would flow down the sides of the MAS but leave a vacume or a lot smaller air flow down the middle of the MAS where the actual sensor is. This resulted in the car thinking its not getting much are and compenating for it, while in reality it is getting a lot of air. This resulted in the car stalling particually at higher speeds. The A'PEXi induction has a funel interupting the air flow so it travels past the MAS with some turbulence and evens out the flow, so its not just traveling down the edges. People who are experiencing this problem can help by taping a ball of paper inside to the top of the filter. Stuart

Has this only happened after you have installed your induction kit? What induction do you have? If you have you are probably having the good old air votex around the MAS problem. Stuart
  6. The spoiler has started to crack becuase there is water soaked into it. The stock spoiler is made of spong/foam of all things, which will soak up water through the smallest hole, but once it gets in there you can not get it out. You can try to paint over it but it wont take long before its doing the same thing again. Your best bet is to either get a good used one or buy a stock looking aftermarket one which is made of fibre glass which wont soak up water and it a lot ligher than the foam one. Stuart
  7. From what I hear though, replacing the EGR actually makes the car run better.
  8. My dad as the Galant 2.5 but the auto. On a long run, the Z does better MPG than the Galant. Stuart
  9. Aftermarket dial will cost you about £40.
  10. Does your friend have an induction kit installed? If so was the splash gaurd removed to install it? Water could have got onto the sensor. If that is the case, the MAS is fecked. Stuart. P.S. Nice to see Z drivers driving sencibley. ;)
  11. Not the valves. They are super trick

For a boost gauge, you attach it where the stock one does. It is attached to the back of the plenum on the passenger side. You dont need to know what pressure each turbo is doing. The bar at the back of the engine is a balance bar which makes sure the pressure is equal on both sided of the engine. Stuart
  13. That Taxi sign is more than a sign, its a licence so I can drive like a t**t. I can turn with out signaling, park on double yellows, go through red lights, speed and pull out dangerously in to traffic. And because I have that sign, the police dont seem to give a s**t.
  14. Why every time I drive past a pub on a Friday or Saturday night, I always get people trying to flag me down thinking I was a taxi. Do it look like a fecking taxi? Does it sound like a normal taxi? Do you really think I will stop and give you a lift? NO! NOW PI$$ OFF
  15. Insurance depends on your age and situation. Do you have a daily runner? If so you can get a 10 year or older Z on Classic insurance with some companies which frees up your NCB for your 2nd car. I pay £68 a month insurance, and if I used it as a daily driver I would use £100 a month petrol, but I have a 2nd car for running around. If you can save the £100 a month for any mantainace that may come up or any modifications you want. My last clutch lasted 70,000 miles according to the history. How long it lasts depends on the type of clutch you have and how you drive. Track Days I wouldnt say are that bad on clutches. 1/4 mile runs are a lot worse as to pull off quick you need to slip the clutch other wise you will bog down. As for how long the manual gearbox lasts, I dont know any one who has had a problem with a manual box other than slipping clutch. The boxes are meant to be good for 600bhp. Running costs again depends on how you drive and how long you drive. The most I have got is 32mpg while on holiday, but round town it goes down to 18mpg or so. Messing around and flooring it a lot will take it down to 10mpg or so. Also how modified it is will effect the MPG. The basic mods Intake, Exhaust, Decat pipes could infact increase the MPG very slightly. But ECU mods and so on, will make it go down, but again it depends on how you drive. Driving a modded car nice and smoothly on a long run, you will probably not notice any difference, but flooring it all the time when modded you will. Things like repairs it depends on a lot of things. There are people on here who can help you keep costs down. For example there is some one always breaking a Z or 2 so quality used parts are not so hard to find, and there are a few specialist performance parts people who can get parts cheaper than the highstreet or Nissan, and tend to be better quality too. Have you been in a Z yet? Stuart
  16. I got all 4. Right click save as, cos they are big.
  17. I thought that they had 2 lots of designers working on consepts. One in America and one in Japan and only the best design would be used. They used the Japanese one. Stuart

  21. I got them from Pemberton Tyres http://www.pembertontyres.co.uk/
  22. Mine was £160 fitted I think, but I think the model I got has been superseeded by a newer one. I thought it was very good and very handy. It is amazing how much different the car handled when all the pressures where correct and symetrical. Having one of the rear down a 1 or 2psi makes a huge difference. As the temperature of your tyres increases so does the pressure, and you will find the pressure difference increases to 4 maybe 5 psi. It also tells you of leaks. It will tell you when the pressure drops more the 3psi lower than what it should be even taking into acount temperature. For example I have had the rears up to 45PSI on a hot day and driving hard, if the pressure drops to 42 the alarm will sound, and will sound every 5mins or if it drops 1psi again. This will give you ample time to get it sorted. Other wise the only time you know the tyre is going down is when going round a corner, which is very dangerous. I have taken mine off at the moment. The wire going to the unit from cig lighter had broke, because I kept taking it out and moving it around too much. Also 1 clip kept braking in the wheel so the sensor was rolling around, it wasnt 1 clip, but 1 clip at a time, but always a different wheel. It still worked though and didnt cause any damage with the clip broken in the wheel. Every time I went back to get it put back on, they said I was the only car this keeps happening too. Maybe a batch of clips? I thought it was a great thing. I just have to repair mine. Stuart
