Every mechanic should have a compression tester and it shouldnt take more than an hour to do it.

But with that explination cylinder 5 and 6 should be the common failures. Topless is saying more often than not its no6 not 5 and/or 6

Your best bet is Mongoose. Full SS, a little louder and beefier and will give you a slight increase in performance. The Z is not like a Fiesta where you can go to many places and pic up a simple exhaust. Its Nissan's exhaust or a performance one. Stuart

but why always 6? Cylinder 5 and 6 are opposite to each other at the back. So why does 6 get it and 5 not?

They are flashing because you are blinding them. :mad: There is a reason it is against the law to drive with fogs on when they are not needed. Stuart

Maybe its a Southern thing then and not Z in general.

Rear fog lights are for other drivers but I dont think front ones are. Front fogs are not much brighter than head lamps and often then not have the same bulb as head lights. Rear fog lights are brighter so you dont go ploughing in to the back of the car infront. Front fogs are low to the ground because the fog is actually very thin down there. They are designed to light up the road but mostly the cats eyes and road lines from under the fog. Your normal head lights tend to just light up the fog and any light reflected back from the lines or cats eyes, is bled out by the bright reflection of fog. If you notice fog lights light up a wide area not too far infront from the car. This is so it lights up the lines and cats eyes at the side of the road so you are able to see them because the fog is not glowing with your head lights. In foggy conditions you are meant to use your front fogs with your side lights and not dipped lights. Stuart

No the whole idea of aftermarket exhaust is to free up some power used up by a less efficient exhaust system. The way to make it better is the make the flow smoother and more free by making the pipes wider and less sound muffling. Stuart

I wouldnt say it shortens their life span. My 2 dogs only lived 7 and 8 years and they where pure bread. My friend had a dog called Heinz and lived for 24 years. :eek:

I thought the fogs where OK. Z lights are notoriously bad and there are 1001 ways to make them better but only slightly. Cos has been making inserts for lights which should makes the head lights better. Stuart

I dont recall having to drop the transmission to change the speed sensor. Least on a manual its easy to get to.

With feel back through the pedel usually means warped discs. The car shudders when you have warped discs or if the torsion bushes have gone. But like Bilky said, it could be both as the bush problem shudder could hidden in the brake problem shudder.
