  1. The gear stick is usually very firm. It hardly moves whilst in gear. Maybe the bushes have gone. Engine vibration between 3-5k. That sounds like engine mounts problem. But it usually effect the car all through the range and gets better the higher up the revs. Where you driving when the vibration happened. What gear was you in? Did you try in other gears too? The jerking when applying and disengaging the throttle is strange. Maybe the engine just needs a little service. It is amazing how much different the car is when you do simple things like clean a few things. Like the sensors, change the air filters and fuel filter. Stuart
  2. What people think of the vid?
  3. They will be up by about 10 on Sunday :D
  4. I think it means that in 3rd gear the car just took off as if it was only running on one turbo before.
  5. Well done. Go and celebrate with an engine rebuild.
  6. I will set my computer ready and it will be on the net with in the hour. :D
  7. I wouldnt. A'PEXi is a dry filter and does not have any oil in it. I am sure the instructions on mine said rinse it out with water. Not a powerful hosepipe though. Make sure it is totally dry before you put it back on. Stuart
  8. Make sure you vote then when the next election comes up. Its all we can do. That or assasinate the twat
  9. Have you asked on TT.net?
  10. try cleaning other things first. Like the water sensors. Clean out the throttle bodies, change the air filters or clean it if it is a cone one. Clean the TPS and reset the postition. Stuart
  11. No. If you buy a car and make a recept if you dont put sold as seen on it, anythign that goes wrong with it you have the right to get your money back.
  12. Cars in American have to have the tilte of a Meat Loaf song engraved at the bottom of the wing mirrors for some reason. Americans are not the sharpest spoon in the draw. Stuart
  13. Thanks mate. The Cams I have been looking at from the US dont need any modifying to use them, which makes me suspect they are just stock one with the profile ground out. I think I will leave the cams alone then. Stuart
  14. There is a tech write up on TT.net which is very interesting. In this write up it is said that always use Paper head gaskets. Metal one WILL go after 2-3 years while paper one can go over 10 years. As soon as a leak starts on a paper gasket the paper stretches and creaps into the leak, blocking it. Once a metal gasket goes, its gone.! Stuart

I dont know if turbo and non-turbo have different ones. They are about £100. You wont lose any steering fluid. The reason the steering goes hard is the power steering is speed related and so gets harder the faster you go. When the speed sensor stops working the power steering keeps turning off. Quite easy to replace I hear. Stuart
  16. There must be over a hundred orders a day other wise they wouldnt stay in business. Stuart
  17. If you are going for serious power you should get these http://store.yahoo.com/sgpracing-store/sgheandmastf.html They are much stronger than head bolts and if you watch Clarke's vids with the Supra rebuild you will under stand why they are mucn better. :D Stuart
  18. LOL. Yeah the ball is rolling. Pistons are being bought.
  19. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2448292527&category=43114 £5,500 and climbing. But its no ordinary Lada. ;) Does any one remember this episode of Top Gear with the Lada? Well its for sale. Stuart
  20. I think the PCV on mine need doing, but I think one of the hoses is actually split. I am losing a little bit of oil, its not coming out of the exhaust only a little smoke, and its not in the water. But after driving for 15 mins I can smell oil and fresh oil. When I looked at my passenger turbo there is oil on the top of the thing. The only place where it could be coming from is one of the hoses. Stuart
  21. Im looking at getting some cams for my Z when I rebuild and have been told to ask you for your advice on the matter. How have you found them? Does it affect the driving in the lower rev range? I want to make my car as drivable as possible but I hear cams makes the lower revs a little difficult. Thanks Stuart
  22. I looked on the internet for a few places. Tesco was the best. I wanted a £4000 loan over 4 years and it was 12.5% which was about £107 a month. I tried a few different amounts to see when the interest went down. For a £5000 loan the interest was 6.4% and cost £117 a month for 4 years. Can you work it out. So its working out to be good value. At the moment I am paying off £60 a month for a small loan I have and £100 a month getting no where paying off my credit card. So really it will save me money in the short term. Stuart
  23. My sister has just done that. Over mortgaged to pay off loans. They offered it her.
  24. Its the temptation. First I dont have £5000 credit limit, and there are virtually no places which offer you interest free on balance transfers any more. Plus there is always the temptation of spending more on the CC.
