Greddy IC's
Yes I notices that when I got mine. The front bolt holes go into the intercooler so air car escape. I thought it was rather poor. Put a bolt in it and maybe put some of that white thread tape on it first to help keep an air tight seal.

Intermittent Power Steering
The symptoms for the speed sensor not working and the speed converter playing up are the same. If its an import I would say its the speed converter as it is the case for most imports with these problems.

MOT's a conflict of interest?
This happened to me with my daily runner of my Corsa about 2 months ago. Took it to 1 place and had about 5-6 things wrong with it, including 2 new tyres. I didnt agree with half of the things they said and I repaired the ones which I inspected and thought to be OK. I then took it to another place where, after not fixing half of the things it failed on first time, and it passed but needed a little bit of welding on the sill under the drivers door. I didnt really look there but it could have been rusted and I trust this person more. But the 2 failed tyres, badly aimed headlight and handbrake which it failed on first time, it passes on with out having to touch them.

skylines
hmmmm, had a post deleted. There was nothing offensive on there, so why was it?
-
skylines
I think it is fair to say we are not talking about the old Skyline GTR and if we are talking about that the first Zs came out in 1969 if I remember correctly and I have seen a hell a lot more of those than 1978 Skylines, which shows more proof of reliability. If you want to go even further, the original Fairlady's where out way before the 240Z I also said that the R32 was not availible in this country. That is why I said it after the R32 comment. I didnt say the R33 or R34 where all imports.
-
skylines
R34 only came out in 1999 I think. R33 came out in 1996/1997. R32 came out in 1990. They are all imports and thus very low milage compaired to what ones in the UK would have on.
-
skylines
How can you say its more reliable? You cant compaire the reliablility of a 14 year old car and a 4 year old car.
-
skylines
I think they parts for them are even worse, lets consider there are not as many Skylines, there are R32 R33 and R34 each with Na and Turbo, GTS, GTT, GTR, VSpec VspecII not to mention the special editions.

Speedo woes
Speed converter is a little box behind the dash. Only imports have them on with this problem on imports, 90% of the time its the speed converter. The speed sensor is on the gearbox.
-
Speedo woes
Speed sensor is fecked or it could be the MPH converter if it has one.
