  1. One of the PCs wasnt displaying our own web site correctly and hadn't been for a while and the user phoned the computer department asking some one to fix it. First person came down looked at the problem and clicked refresh, where he was told that he has tried clicking refresh a few hundred times over the past weeks and it didnt work. That computer person left and 20 mins later another computer person came down looked at his PC and clicked refresh. Again he was told that its been tried by himself and the previous IT person. 20 mins later another person comes and does exactly the same. Just clicks refresh. Yet again it didnt work, and they said they didnt know why it wasnt working. I was in work told this tale and within 2 mins I had it working, and I didnt click refresh. Stuart
  2. It will ask you what you want to do. You can install in the same directory and it will install over the top. You may find that 90% of your programs will need to be installed again, but you saved data will still be there.
  3. Considering cleaning the TB was the first job I did on my Z and I used Carb cleaner, I dont see why I would say dont use it.
  4. Condiering the side lights are not in the headlight unit, they wont be effected
  5. This http://custom1.farnell.com/cpc/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CPC+Catalogue&category%5Fname=Computer+and+Office+%2D+Computer+Hardware+and+Accessories+%2D+Drives%2C+Caddies+%26+External+Housings&product%5Fid=254072 Which I think connects your laptop HDD to fire wire. Quite expensive though http://custom1.farnell.com/cpc/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CPC+Catalogue&category%5Fname=Computer+and+Office+%2D+Computer+Hardware+and+Accessories+%2D+Drives%2C+Caddies+%26+External+Housings&product%5Fid=254051 USB version, slightly cheaper. http://custom1.farnell.com/cpc/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CPC+Catalogue&category%5Fname=Computer+and+Office+%2D+Computer+Hardware+and+Accessories+%2D+Drives%2C+Caddies+%26+External+Housings&product%5Fid=254068 Very cheap one, which allows you to plug it into an IDE Hope these help
  6. You have a series 1 Air Con system. Basic controls are Up and Down, changes the desired temperature. Auto, the air con will automatically blow hot or cold air and automatically select the fan speed to make the cabin temperature reach your selected vaule. Ie if you select 20ºC and the cabin is 23ºC it will blow cold air until the temperature drops to 20ºC and then keep it at that temperature. If the inside temperature is colder, it will blow warm air to it rise the temperature. Econ, Econermy mode. This turns off the air con compressor as it takes engine power and makes the MPG drop a little. The air will not be as cold as it would with it off. Rec, Recirculation mode. This will take air from inside the car to cool or heat. This is good when going past a smelly field or stuck behind a smelly car as it will keep using the none smelly air from inside the car. It is also good for very hot or very cold days. On hot days it will take the already cooled air from inside the car and make it colder, it better than taking the really hot air from outside. Just the same with cold days. Its better to reheat the warm air inside than the cold outside air. *WARNING* Recurculation mode will turn off after 20mins or so. This is to prevent the air inside the car getting stale. Off, turns off the air con. Hi Lo, Sets the fan speed manually. If you use Rec, Econ or manual fan speeds it will turn off the Auto mode. Front windscreen button. This will blow full power on the windscreen to defrost it. Hope this helps. I may have forgotten something as I have not sat in my Z for a few months now. Stuart
  7. Im just making general enquiries and I may treat myself with my first proper wage when I start work :D
  8. I have seen that picture of that Z before.
  9. Give me some greef? I have had people asking me what am I going to do when my engine blows up, so dont think I aint had any. I have been busy looking for a job thats my excuse.
  10. MY GOD!!! They do exist. The only evidance I have seen are sites who sell them but then cant get hold of them when ordered LOL.
  11. It also depends on how you mean by rebuild ;) My engine will be finished quite soon. The body work will take a while. But once that engine is in, I will be too busy driving it to than do the body ;)
  12. Lazy bugger? Today I have taken the cams off the head (the one left) taken out the valves, cleaned the head out with parafin and seated the intake vavles so :P Oh and I got a job too ;)
  13. Usually the fault of the MAS. Some of the time you can get away with cleaning the connections on the MAS as usually its just that. Have you done a ECU Diag? If not the link below tells you how to do one. http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=efec&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=49&design=default&total=190 Its quite simple. Click on the page to turn to the next. Post back with what code you get
  14. lots of people will stop you downloading if you are not sharing.
  15. That agreement is not for Japanese cars. Its on cars made in Japan. If the US Spec was made in the States, they can make it as powerful as they want

I wouldnt bother with Norton, its past its day. I had a virus on my computer and I found the file and sent it to Norton. I got an email back telling me what virus it is and that the next patch will detect it but the next patch wont be out for another 2 weeks  So I had to wait another 2 weeks before the program will get rid of it. AVG there are updates nearly everyday.
  17. I will ask my mate. But I think connecting via USB will be quite a bit more expensive as you are talkling abot a different thing to just a caddie.
  18. Yes you can ;) My mate bought a caddie for £3 or something which allows you to put a Laptop HDD into a PC. I will try to find out where he got it and if he has any spare.
  19. If your computer is not booting up the best way is to take your HDD out and put it as a slave in some one elses computer and let them do a scan disc. The internet is so bad now that you should never go on unless you have a virus checker and a fire wall.
  20. Have you got a boot disc with a scan disc or check disc on? Its probably best to try do that. Can you get into a dos prompt?

I agree with you 100%. My mum and girlfriend are teachers and every year more and more is expected of them, even down to the fact there are now classes which try to teach people how to be good citizens. Isn't that they jobs of the parents? They are meant to teach children how to be good people, what is right and what is wrong, how to behave, but now teachers are expected to reverse 9 years of bad parenting as well as teach them maths, english, science, geography etc etc
  22. Z32 is the chassis type. Z33 is the 350Z and the Z31 is the old 300ZX. They where made from 1989 to 1999/2000, but only available 89/94 in the UK and I think 89/96 in the US and 96 - 2000 in Japan. There are very few differences between UK and Jap, mostly minor cosmetic ones i.e. rear numberplate shape, foglights, tint in glass. At 60,000 miles the Cambelt should be changed.
  23. Throw some chips, fish and some salt in the boot, and an hour later I bet the vinager smell is gone.
  24. Do you know of any UK suppliers now?
  25. They are called Labour
