  1. Probably a daft sugestion, but have you checked the connecting block that fits into your stalk switch? Worth a thought :D
  2. Turd Knocker...................... :(
  3. It sounds like you've burnt your wiring somewhere. Sorry m8, but you've gota start tracing wires. The On-Line Service Manual will be able to help. Section Electrical, page 40 onwards. Dave
  4. Shit!!! I've spent some more money on my Z :slap: I said I wasn't going to, but I have :nono: I sold the Pioneer that came with my Z, and put the Sony out of my escort into it. Then put the old Ford RDS unit back into the escort, so what happened the other day, the ****ing RDS packed up  So I thought I'd just pop into Halfords and see if they've got a cheap RDS unit in stock.................................. to cut a long story short, I spent £357 on a Sony stelth head unit, 50w x 4, RDS, with remote control and 10 disc autochanger, also one of their interchangeable phone kits they're selling at the moment. :D Nice peice of kit, now and as if I didnt have enough to do this weekend, I've got to fit this now. As well as finish of the interior re-trim. Will keep you informed. :D EDIT** forgot to say this new one is going into the Z, and putting the old Sony back in the escort :D Dave
  5. Yeah that was why I rang them up. With my odometer being in kmh, I worked it out to just over 4600k per year, well I only insured it on 29th December and I've just done a little under 2000k  already!!! And that has been really limiting it's use. Sod that i wana get my new job, because I will only have to travel across town and park it up all day, instead of the 40 mile round trip to work ( hence the other car :D) that I do at the moment. God I looooooooooooooooooooove my Z, I want to drive it to work EVERYDAY :D, and not to have to worry about the mileage. Dave
  6. When I got my Z a few people on here had sugested using Norton/Heritage, and I've got to agree they were very good at what they did. Especially as i have a runabout and that has got my no-claims bonus on it. Right here's the deal; Norton 1) You must have your other car FULLY insured with No-Claims on the other car. 2) This is a Classic car policy, with limited use. (ie, mine is 3000 miles) 3) This policy takes no account of your No-Claims bonus, as long has you are insured with another company for your other car. 4) cost for me this year was £352.10 Now today I decided to check to see if 1) I could UP my mileage to 5000 miles due to the fact that I'm enjoying driving it too much :D. So I rang them up and asked if I can do it and how much it was. The lady, who incidently didnt seem too sure as to what the **** she was doing, told me that I can do it, but it is a whole year up-grade, ie; makes no differance when I up-grade. She quoted me £170 for the extra 2000 per year. I also asked if they could do somthing for me, because I'm about to change my job and wont need my other car, she told me that they could do that but would give me a quote at the time. Now I'm thinking if I'm paying £352.10 now, + the £170 up-grade for 5000 miles, HOW BLOODY MUCH ARE THEY GOING TO CHARGE ME FOR A FULL POLICY????? So I rang Houghtons this afternoon, and they gave me a quote of only £445, fully comp, full no-claims, no accidents, no convictions, sd&p inc to work. :duffer: well pleased with that. That being limited to 7500 miles per year, but protected ncb would be another 10%, not too bad though. Personally I think that Norton are quite good if you use another car and want to have a limited use policy on your Z. But for everyday use of your Z I think that Houghtons seem fair. Dave
  7. Depends on the age bracket for the seat. But if it is a proper 'Baby' seat, it would be better in the front. most front facing stage two seats should be able to be used with a static lap belt. if your buying one from a shop, get then to show you all the options first. HTH Dave
  8. http://www.joecartoon.com/pages/monkeylooker/   Dave EDIT** *****cks that isnt there anymore :( SECOND EDIT - .....Oh yes it is
  9. That is a very good point, check to see if they are uni-directional, or just directional tyres, check with the monkeys :smw: at the garage if your not sure. Mine were uni-directional :D Dave
  10. TBH Steve, neither did I, about mine, 'till someone on here pointed it out, then I had to find out which was the right way round :D, but it is defo the rears that are wrong on yours. Dave
  11. Yours are for starters :D, well your rears are anyway. And before anyone else says it, I know that mine are in my rides section, but they arent now :D Dave
  12. Ive gota admit this is a good option, then you've also got all the connectivity you'll need. As a side note, apparently, only the gen nokia cable will work with the gen nokia softwear supplied with the phone, and that is according to people that sell Non-Genuine ones. Cant see why, it's only a cable , but at £30 for a gen cable, and probably never using it apart from pics, I cant justify spending that money, would rather buy somit for mi Z :D Dave

  18. I was beginning to think that, untill I found out why it wouldn't work. Looking like it though. Orange wouldn't let me phone the number on the website, for some unknown reason, hence I used a land-line. Dave Bloody mobile phones :D
  19. James, Go into 'Connectivity' Down to 'GPRS' Enable that, then into 'Service Options' and down to 'Go To Address' then type in the address they gave you. That took me five attempts to do last nite, cus I didnt know either :D That should sort you out. Dave

    :D:D
  21. Nice idea, but Bluetooth isnt available on the 6100, and the cost involved in the extra kit is a damm sight more than my little up-load :D Options; 1) Bluetooth USB adaptor (for compatable Bluetooth phones) = £20 2) USB data cable (for Non-Bluetooth phones) = £30 3) Using website - About £2 :D Ermmmmmmmm I think quite cost effective :D Dave
  22. Just got my new Nokia 6100 mobile yesterday, and it's got the colour screen. As Clarkey, very kindly, sent me the Z logo for my old 6310i last year, i wanted something special on my new screen. Don't know if any of you know of places yourself, but I found a site by the name of http://www.mobicust.com and they will transfer a pic of your own direct onto your phone. As long as it's on your pc you just up-load it to them, then ring them up (preferably from a land-line) then they send it to your mobile. Simple!! I used this pic of my Z, and it worked quite well, as you can resize it on the site before you make your mind up. PLEASE SEE MESSAGE 11 BELOW!!! Dave
  23. They also sent out a sample of the three layer material that is used in the construction of the cover. HTH Dave
  24. Do you know Geoff, and are you still talking about the gear knob ;) Dave Sorry m8, just couldnt resist that :D
  25. It's the NAC.......National Agricultural Centre. Good facilities, good place especially if it rains, as it's all indoors. Although I have been in the past to other exhibitions there and they also use the outdoor carparks. Dave
