  1. Hope it's a good different mate! :D ;) The album was Mastered back in October by SRT but hasn't been redone since then. The exceptions are the demo of "Nevermore" and the live acoustic version of "Repeat To Fade" which were both recorded and (very roughly!) mastered at my own studio. :)
  2. I've sucumbed to peer pressure and just started my band up on Twitter: http://twitter.com/thisburningage If anyone else has one please join us...and while you're at it let me know what the Christing-heck I do with it! lol :wack: :D ;) P.S. we've also got a new Last FM page (thanks to Emero who originally started it! :D) so if you've also got one of those, become a listener...there may be sweets in it for you...or possibly puppies...would you like to see some puppies...? Ok...maybe not... :wack: ;) http://www.last.fm/music/This+Burning+Age
  3. Happy Birthday Diane! :D
  4. In that case he's got tonnes of time to learn :) Yeah, diet is something that a lot of people overlook, you're definately doing the right thing by seeing if it is that that's making him hyper...we've had to change foods several times to find the right one...it can be a right pain in the ass, lol! :D
  5. He'll definately need castrating if it's not already been done. We keep Dalmatians and my other half used to breed Alsatians so can understand what you're going through mate! How are you training him? My advice is to start him from scratch with food refusal i.e. place the food in front of him and give him the command to leave it until you release him. Then once he's got the hang of that (and has had it re-enforced that obediance = treats) go back through the basic sits, stays and lie downs. Obediance classes do help and we took both our Dog and Bitch to one and it really helped...the Dog was a little sh1t until we did! :D One of the biggest things though is to make sure they know their place in the pack. Until he's calmed down and more obediant he shouldn't be allowed on chairs/sofas/beds etc and should have all four paws on the floor at all times ie if he jumps up to greet someone he gets told off. It's their way of asserting dominance and although it's cute when they jump up to "cuddle" while you're sat down etc in their minds it's their way of asserting their place in the pack.
  6. lol! ;) Quite possibly effendi! I am eagerly awaiting your fiscal entry...as the Actress said to the Mathmatician... :wack:
  7. Right! We have announcements! :D The album is currently being "processed" so I'll have a firm date (it'll be in June I know that much :wack: ;)) for everyone very soon now. But the news that I think people will like is that the album will now be sold for £7, so £1 less than previously thought. It means it's going to take me longer to recoup the money spent on getting it finished but, after weighing everything up, I didn't feel comfortable charging £8. In these times of digital downloads, buying a physical product is becoming something of an anomaly, and when people do buy one, it's often online from uber-low priced Chinese stockists that can afford to undercut everyone else by vast amounts. I "could've" driven the price down by releasing it in a standard Jewel Case, with 'orrible black plastic CD tray and no booklet but tbh I couldn't bring myself to do it. Instead I went for Digipak format (what I think is the nicest way to package an album), a clear tray with art work designed to be viewed through it (ie, lift up the CD and you'll see it! :D) and a 6 page rollfold booklet...I just hope you guys feel the same way and that it's been worth it. :) The other news is that I can now "reveal" (in a hopefully non-Paul Daniels way) the album cover. All of the album design/photography etc has been done by lil'ol' me so please be gentle...lol! :wack: ;) The final piece of news is that we now have a Last FM page (which, I should add, was originally started by good friend and fan of the band, Diane, otherwise known as "emero" :)). It's taken a bit of getting used to as it's more like an audio version of Wikipedia rather than MySpace but it's great when you get into it. Take a look here, sign up and friend us/become a "listener" if you can: http://www.last.fm/music/This+Burning+Age :)
  8. I was this close to buying a roof tent very similar to that when I still had my Landy. The other half and I had a madcap idea about going travelling for a few months. Although the engine was knackered, leaked oil quicker than I could put it in, it drove like an absolute bar-steward and had a tendency to overheat (the long drive down to the Reading Festival a few years ago in blistering heat was "interesting" to say the least!) I still weirdly miss it. Once I can afford a "decent" more modern example I'll be 4x4'ing again...makes sense as one of the most well known Landrover specialists in the world, Liveridge, is only 10 mins away from my house and they're great chaps who could fettle it within an inch of it's life! Sorry, going off on one there...! :D :wack: ;)
  9. Also: http://www.advancetec.co.uk/acatalog/info_242.html and http://www.advancetec.co.uk/acatalog/160GB_Western_Digital_WD1600BEVE_Scorpio_2.5in_IDE_PATA_5400_rpm_8MB_Cache_12_ms.html ...though these are a bit price-ier.
  10. Excellent stuff :) In which case, the module for Amazon is being ordered this afternoon! With funds being tight I'll go for just the one for now taking me to about 1.2Gb and see how she copes with all the audio gubbins. Just need to sort the HD now. Finding a low-cost to high storage PATA example turns out to involve a bit of hunting! Would you (or indeed anyone! :)) mind casting your eye over these two to see if they're suitable and to say which is the better of the two (if indeed there's anything in it! Quite fancy the first one myself as it's from Scan and it's a Samsung): http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/160-Gb-Samsung-HM160HC-Spinpoint-M80-25-IDE-(PATA)-5400-rpm-8MB-Cache-12-ms http://bigmaggot.co.uk/120Gb-Hitachi-2.5In-Pata-Hdd-30085-pr-6272.html
  11. John Dixon has and I'm planning on doing it as well. Very worthwhile, stops glare/reflections. Funnily enough I almost considered building my own flocking machine as I have a few of the necessary bits knocking about!
  12. Not wanting to appear dense but...are these the same modules? http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000V6UL1Q/nextag78-21/ref=asc_df_B000V6UL1Q356504 http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=339131&sourceid=2459&CAWELAID=292738866
  13. Now that was helpful! :D Looks like it can take up to 2GB of Memory in total (er...not that I can afford 2Gb of memory at the moment! :( ). 1Gb is definately do-able though...cheers for that! :)
  14. You shouldn't give raw meat to a puppy. Also, I'd be careful with milk as that can potentially upset their stomachs as well.
  15. Thanks for the help guys :) I'm a definate novice when it comes to these things but I'll have a go! :D looks like I "might" be in luck as I found the following on the back... Right...if I'm going to do this it looks like it's just going to be a RAM and HD upgrade.
  16. Ok, I "think" it's all down to Service Pack 3...Was in the middle of working on an advert commission in CS3 this afternoon and suddenly I started getting errors all over the place and could no longer open PSD files. More than a little worried I thought "S0d this" I'll try a System Restore again. I'd previously attempted 4 different roll backs and none of them worked. This time however, it did. And it took me back to SP2. And, lo and behold, no more errors AND I can now log onto Hotmail and MySpace with no problems! Can't understand it as I experienced problems before the installation of SP3 unless the culprit is an update prior to the installation? Anyhow, everything "seems" to be working again!
  17. Thanks chaps :) TBH, swapping the RAM for a 1 Gb module and changing the HD to 80Gb and the processor to 2.8 or 3Ghz would be ideal if those prices are attainable. In my borderline neo-Luddite mind it was the first two items that I thought would make the most difference, particularly as I'm looking to use it on-stage as a sampler, so would need more storage and for it not to run out of memory at a crucial moment...or have I got that wrong?? My next questions would be...if it is possible/economical/worth doing...what model/make of RAM/CPU/HD should I be looking for (as I imagine compatability is a big issue) and where should I be looking for the best deal (I tend to default to Dabs or Overclockers!)? BTW, Chris, did you get chance to put a price together for a hosting package? No real rush chap, I only mention it as ideally I was looking to finalise everything this week one way or another. Cheers! :)
  18. Any tech guru's help me on this one (er...not to mention my post re: ageing laptop that can be found elsewhere! :D ;)). Out of the blue last night I tried logging onto my hotmail and MySpace accounts and, although I can sign in, it won't load up either my InBox in the case of Hotmail (it loads the words "Inbox" and some of the items on the top bar but that's it) or my Main page (or Inbox) in the case of MySpace (pretty much the same deal as Hotmail, it loads the top bar and that's it!). I'm using Firefox v3.0.10 and have checked my Firewall settings and the latter doesn't appear to be blocking them. I DID try switching to IE tonight using the Firefox plug-in "IE view" and I managed to get MySpace working fine however, with Hotmail, each time I log in I get a "The Page Cannot Be Displayed" white page. I went into Tools - Internet Options - Advanced and made sure SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 were checked but this did bVgger all. Can anyone shed any light as to why this is suddenly happening and how to fix it? I'm running XP service Pack 2 BTW...I thought it might have something to do with the Service Pack 3 update that just got installed but this weirdness started happening before that!
  19. In need of a bit of advice computer-wise if someone can help. Just been given my folks' ageing laptop, a Fujitsu Siemens "AMILO D SERIES" notebook. As I'm more than a bit short of cash at the moment I was wondering if upgrading it might be a) do-able and b) economical. If it's possible to (maybe) swap the Motherboard, add a lot more memory, give it a faster CD/DVD drive and a faster processor then it could be the ideal thing to take on-stage to use to run samples off and other things. If it's the case that it would be cheaper to actually buy another laptop I'll have to give it a miss. Here's the current run-down of what's on there: Manufacturer FUJITSU SIEMENS Product AMILO D SERIES Version R01-A1A Name Intel Pentium 4 Codename Northwood, A80532 Specification Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 2.40GHz Memory type DDR Manufacturer (ID) Hyundai Electronics (AD00000000000000) Size 256 MBytes Max bandwidth PC2100 (133 MHz) Part number HYMD232M646A6-H Serial number BA082704 Manufacturing date Week 09/Year 03 Motherboard Name FUJITSU SIEMENS AMILO D SERIES Motherboard Chipset SiS 645DX System Memory 253 MB (PC2100 DDR SDRAM) BIOS Type Phoenix (12/10/02) Communication Port Communications Port (COM1) Communication Port Printer Port (LPT1) Video Adapter MOBILITY RADEON 9000 (64 MB) Video Adapter MOBILITY RADEON 9000 (64 MB) 3D Accelerator ATI M9 Audio Adapter SiS 7012 Audio Device Floppy Drive Floppy disk drive Disk Drive TOSHIBA MK2018GAS (20 GB, 4200 RPM, Ultra-ATA/100) Optical Drive AXV CD/DVD-ROM SCSI CdRom Device (Virtual DVD-ROM) Optical Drive QSI CDRW/DVD SBW-241 (DVD:8x, CD:24x/16x/24x DVD-ROM/CD-RW) Network Adapter SiS 900-Based PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter Modem Lucent Technologies Soft Modem AMR Windows Version Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)
  20. I have. And yes. Oh and it's worth it. :p ;)
  21. Closed my Facebook account as I found it far to intrusive. Possibly something of a contradiction being the front man in a band looking to make it big but, bizzarely, I'm quite a private person and I didn't like the fact that I could be contacted by all and sundry...particularly when people you've succesfully avoided for years harangue you to meet them or people who are more aquaintances than friends bombard you with pointless messages. I'm happy to be more extroverted than an extroverted thing when I'm "Friday" but the real me finds the whole social networking thing more than a little distasteful. Which is why I get our guitarist to run our Facebook page while I maintain the MySpaz one...at least there I can hide behind my pseudonym ;)
  22. A few more...this time from Abu Dhabi:
  23. The bonnet vent on the ps13 is from SPL, the same one used on their 300zx time attack car, and the same one's I brought over from Japan that are on mine and John's V8 Z's. Looks great to me (in fact the entire car looks pretty spot on in my book)...it's a good, well made, functional vent. I imagine the rear spoiler is a lightweight, carbon, APR unit as well. Happy to stand corrected though.
  24. lol! That was a suprise! After a lot of deliberation I decided to use the above pic (which I took on a misty morning in the woods at Hanbury...both the road and said woods were absolutely deserted...twas more than a little creepy as I trekked through to the old church on the hill!) in the booklet included with my new album. For the sake of completeness, here are a couple more that go with it:
