Recurring Blue Screen Error Message on my PC :(
Really at a loss on what going on here. For the past week and a bit my PC has been throwing up a blue screen error message. It doesn't seem to be caused by anything in particular i.e. I haven't noticed certain programs or the removal/input of usb hardware triggers it...often it's happened when I've left it idle while going off to do something else with no programs running. This is the message: MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION *** STOP: 0x0000009C (0x00000004,0x80546E70, 0xB2000000, 0x00070F0F) For the past 12 months the computer has been constantly going wrong tbh...luckily a forum member has been kind enough to troubleshoot the problems, put things right and/or perform a re-install but although they're a good mate I feel pretty bad constantly having to ask for help so I thought I'd also throw it out there in case it's something people can guide through putting right myself! It's truly been driving me insane (thought I'd lost all my important graphic and audio files for the band at one point...they're now all backed up in triplicate!) Any ideas folks? Cheers, Leigh.

Ok, got it back in front of me now. You need to make a note of the order the colours are shown in first. And it's not so important what number the colours are but how they're interpreted ;) !EDIT!

Did you use the UV on the cube...?

escape the room
Annnnnd jumping in at this late stage...Now completed the "cube" puzzle (I could call it something else but that would give the game away...hint, hint ;)), and now in posession of one of the keys to the briefcase box...now, onto the other 2 wall puzzles...one is music related and the other...well I think the Good Luck Letter is the "key"...

Coolio ;) Just downloaded it (although bizarrely the Utorrent site seems to be down at the moment...got it from CNET!) so will install and give it a try... :D

Ugliest kit car?
Personally I couldn't give a rats-ass if people don't like it. It's not my preffered "taste" but I'm just glad there are people out there that are doing things their own way and experimenting with design concepts. Without these "crazies" we wouldn't be driving the cars we drive today. Good on 'em...and b*llocks to your small-minded bourgeoisie parochial conservatism... :wack: ;)

Which Bittorrent client?
After recently having to reinstall XP on my home computer I'm now looking to reinstall a Bit Torrient client for all my downloading needs. I used to use Azureus (and subsequently Vuze) which I liked as the user interface was pretty easy to fathom however I was always a little concerned about how bloated the program was. Are there any decent, easy to use alternatives that people would recommend? Cheers, Leigh.

Swine Flu!!!
It's probably not going to worry anyone who isn't a) old and infirm or b) has a suppressed immune system. In those two instances, as touched upon by takemetothepub, it could prove fatal. I unfortunately fall into the latter category having a suppressed immune system (which has to be kept low due to another serious condition I have). And I live in Solihull, just outside of Birmingham, where there's been a marked increase in the number of cases since the initial outbreak. So actually yes, it is a little worrying. I'm firmly against Daily Mail-esque reactionary paranoia (in fact, that kind of parochial, NIMBY, far right, middle-class, suburbanite clap-trap gets right up my nose in general) but to dismiss the current epidemic, and be under no illusion it is an epidemic, as spurious is to not acknowledge what's right in front of your very (possibly mask-covered ;)) nose. Whilst barring the doors and screaming "unclean, unclean!" at anyone who will listen is frankly somewhat ridiculous (a policy that some of our so-called "news" papers seem to be encouraging), it shouldn't be taken as lightly as others are claiming. The "I'm Alright Jack" attitude that seems to be developing is equally as reactionary and, potentially, more damaging. Just my 2p's worth, feel free to shoot me down ;)

Anyone do MySpace profiles or know someone that does?
Up till now I've handled all the MySpace page design/HTML coding (and photoshopped all the images, sorted the animations and taken all the photos) but with all the album stuff/gigging/general band related hoo-ha that's going on I'm not sure I've got time to redo the page...and I think it's time it had a bit of a make-over, particularly with the album about to come out. http://www.myspace.com/thisburningage I "think" I've managed to get it looking ok (the clickable banner logos and the animation were an absolute b1tch for a novice who hadn't, until then, done anything in html in his life! Several nights picking apart other peoples code then time and time again having to redo the graphics to get it looking/sitting right sent me a bit looney-tunes I seem to remember! :wack: ;) Recently added the "TV slide show" thing and for some reason it's kicked the black border out over the graphic border on either side (which I really hate now!) which is REALLY annoying) but compared to the "pro" sites it's lacking a certain something. If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. Not looking for a freebie although I have to admit that after putting everything I've got into the album release there ain't a lot left so unfortunately price is a consideration. :) Cheers, Leigh.

annoying advert problem
That was an interesting read. Looks like a decent piece of kit as well (did a spot of digging: http://www.avfindia.com/audio5.html ). I'm nowhere near your level of expertise (and the engineering side of things goes right over my head!) but with my background as a musician (working in studios and with my own very modest home studio set-up) I've developed a wee bit of a gear fetish...recently manifesting in the aquisition of a pair of mint condition BBC (Spendor made) ls3-5a's and a nifty Quad 405 to power them (not sure if that kind of thing is also up your street, if not, ignore me! :D ;))...hence my interest in the B42 :)

What can I say. the dude loves Keira Knightley
LMAO!! Jesus feckin' Christ the resemblance is uncanny. Epic Fail. A case for involuntary euthanasia if ever I saw one. :D ;)

Twitter
"Grinder" aside (how feckin' funny was THAT! God bless Top Gear :D) if it's good enough for Steven Fry it's good enough for me. :wack: Not sure why people have a problem with it tbh? There are far more intrusive things than Twitter (TV advertising immediately springs to mind) and, unlike Bebo, Facebook and other more "traditional" soul sucking "social networking" sites (which unfortunately I actually DO have to tolerate being in a band), Twitter is less open to abuse and doesn't fall foul of annoying "applications" etc. All it does is enable you to send messages to your mates. You all text I take it? Well, essentially, that's all that Twitter is. And the great thing is (you'll all love this)...are you ready...?...it's not compulsory! So if ya don't like it, then no worries! :D ;) Not to delve too deeply, but maybe it's also an age thing...? (oooh, contentious...Taxi for one please! :D ;) )

Twitter
You don't use it because an American comedian with a congenital growth-hormone condition placed a borderline-amusing rap parody video about it on YouTube? Right then. Glad it's a sensible reason. :wack::rofl::D

The Official "Yes, I WOULD like to buy your album" thread!
Bit of an announcement...well two actually! Thanks to the MASSIVE help of fellow Zedder Jaktheruby, the album art is pretty much all wrapped up so, I just need to approve the pdf proof when they send it, settle the balance and then then I should be getting a date for production shortly after! Woo-hoo! :D The second bit of news is a wee bit stranger...I've had confirmation that an hour and a half ago Trent Reznor was personally handed a USB key containing all the tracks off the album (plus press photos etc) before his gig tonight in Dusseldorf. As far as getting proactive on the promotion front goes...all stops can now be considered firmly pulled out! :D :D :D
