  1. Hey John, that would be great if you're up for a group buy. Think I'll post something in General to see if anyone might be interested. You realise this would mean I'd have to come calling for a re-mapped JD special!;)
  2. Hey mate. I was going to buy some myself last month until finances with the onset of Xmas put the stoppers on my plan. However, I was thinking about getting a group buy together, end of Jan/Feb time...would this be too late for you? Cheers, Leigh.
  3. For me? Damn. I'm cr*p at this kinda thing to...
  4. Right... Health (Grrr...all I'll say is thank f*ck for the NHS, attractive nurses and controlled drugs! ) Partner (er...when I finally get out of my post-break up, sh@g anything with a skirt phase:p ) Friends (particularly 2 guys I've known for 25 years.) Car (Sweet Jesus and all the little orphans! What a motor!:D ) Booze (Vodka. Make mine a double if you're buying;) ) Work (Making art for myself=good...making art to order=not so good...lecturing to people who want to be there=good...lecturing to people who don't give a sh1t=where did I put my baseball bat? ) Money: I started out with nothing. I still have most of it.;)
  5. Cheers! That's what I would've called it but thought I'd ask as I didn't want to look daft when I placed the order in case it was called something else!:D
  6. Does anyone know if this piece of hosing has a name/number? Reason is I've got to get a new one!
  7. Ok, went to have a good look today and hit a problem. When changing things like the starter motor in the past I've taken the car over to the local St Johns Ambulance garage (friends of friends) to use their pit. Couldn't do that today and when I went to jack her up, neither of my jacks would fit underneath as the car has been lowered so much by the previous owner (would be b*ggered if I got a flat, will have to try and find an alternative sharpish). As I had to start late I decided to leave it for today and sort some wood or paving slabs out to push her onto to get enough clearance. What I could see however, when I had as good a look as I could, was that the slave unit appeared bone dry but the the pipe running to it was completely wet with clutch fluid. Is there a proper name for this pipe? (see attatchment). Going to try to get hold of one (and possibly a new slave cyl anyway just to be on the safe side). Cheers, Leigh.
  8. I'm sorry Geoff I'm not with you on this one. As long as someone isn't breaking the forums "acceptable use" policy they should be allowed to say what they want without fear of censorship. You're right, this is a car forum but luckily it's also a place where people can make friends, kick back and just chew the fat with them on any old subject. I'ts good to be able to go to General Discussion and talk about random NZR stuff with people who share a common interest. I for one wouldn't like to feel that if I wanted to talk about certain subjects I'd have to go to another forum. Just my 2p's worth. P.S. Did I read it? Not ruddy likely! Have you seen how long it is!?
  9. Damn:p "It wasn't easy, but I won this time. You are player number 3 to have chosen Blakey from On the Buses. Blakey from On the Buses was a tough one, but I've had a lot of practice. Thanks for giving me something to do. Please visit again soon."
  10. Short answer: No! Argh!!
  11. Scratch that. Had a proper look (not just by torchlight!) and the clutch reservoir is actually empty! Plan is to top it up and try and find the leak....The saga continues...
  12. Right. Ended up pushing it back with a few people in the end (don't ask!). Checked the clutch reservoir and it's full and there doesn't appear to be any leaks around the master cyl. Too dark to get her up on stands to check the slave...Thanks for the diagram Andy! Guess my best bet might be to phone Jeff to see if he can take a look...just got to get it down to him somehow!
  13. Argh...Dave don't tell me that!:( Cheers for the advice though. Pedal does go straight to the floor with no resistance...bugger. Will try to rule out possible leaks first...
  14. A-ha! Now I know (thanks to an old post by AndyP!) that the slave cylinder is at "the end of the clutch activating arm" and the master cylinder "on the front of the bulkhead, directly attached to the reservoir." Now all I have to do is figure out which bit is the clutch activating arm! Lol! Ahh well you gotta laugh I guess:rolleyes: ;)
  15. Cheers guys, it's appreciated. Got to wait till my mate finishes work at 9:30 then we're off to tow it home. Currently trawling through old posts for more info...as you can probably tell I'm no mechanic! I know where the clutch fluid reservoir is but where are the master and slave cyl units situated? Just had a look at the prices from MJP for new cyls. I could manage that but not a new clutch, not this side of Xmas anyway!:( Fingers crossed it's just a leak...
  16. I’m not having a good day. Pulled out of the Post Office this afternoon and the car stalled. When I fired her back up the clutch pedal was not “biting” at all (please excuse the lack of technical terms!) and was completely unresponsive. Was still able to get her into gear with a bit of effort without the clutch but during the short journey home (no more than a mile), I lost each gear one by one until all I could get was 5th. Suffice to say in accordance with sods law this packed up as well just as I was almost half way across the last island only a stones throw away from home. In the middle of rush-hour traffic. Hazards on, I pushed her back out of the way, phoned a mate and when he turned up, pushed her into a slip road. Hopefully going to tow her back tonight. I’m hoping it might just be the clutch cable but I’ve got a horrible sinking feeling this is going to be expensive and could really do with some advice guys:cry:

Sorry mate I can't help you out on your DVD problem but have seen that film! I'm a big fan of Hideo Nakatas work and thought the Ring trilogy was inspiring stuff (his new film Dark Water was fairly predictable but still brilliantly shot and scary as hell IMO!). I guess you're talking about the "Americanised" version? Some good cinematography but not quite in the same league. If you don't mind subtitles check out the original(s) fella!;) :D
  18. Muse aren't my fave band but and I've never bought an album but every single I've heard so far has impressed me. I guess it's their edginess and the way they aren't afraid to take songs in unexpected directions...there's something almost (dare I say it) "jazz-like" in their beats, fills and solos. Very cool. And that feeling when you come out of a great gig is fantastic. Just got back this evening from Nottingham - went to see Radiohead...Amazing. Simply amazing. Plus the clubbing afterwards was pretty...er...eventful;) Leigh.
  19. I'll get me coat... :D Nice one, that's a list and a half!
  20. See Below;) :D Fingers well and truly crossed, if nothing goes Pete Tong between now and the end of Jan, I should be adding Nismo 555 injectors to the list...
  21. Well, on the "Top new front end from Zcentre" thread a couple of months back it was said to be "roughly" going for around £340 but the price is probably completely different now!;)
  22. Hmmmm...up in Mapperley this coming weekend staying with mates...think I'm going to have to give Luke a call and pop down the road to have a chat...;) Blimey it looks DAMN fine!
  23. What do you expect when you see the guys running the company...
  24. I ain't one of the "big yins" in this club but for what my opinion is worth...I totally agree with you mate. With the greatest respect to those building with big bhp in mind (and believe me I'm impressed by what some people have done/are doing out there in this area), I'd rather have a car that is "quick" i.e. 400-450 bhp and still responsive and chuckable round the twisties than a straight line monster. IMHO that's half the fun;) Leigh
  25. To expand slightly on what Fais said, IMO Newera are a sound and reliable company. Miguel certainly does know his stuff when it comes to Jap motors and he made sure that the buying and transportation process, when I imported my own car, went as smoothly as possible. One slight word of warning though: I found the British end of the operation a little lacking. They weren't very helpful over the phone, didn't seem to know much about the vehicles they were bringing over and...not to put too finer point on it...IMHO they couldnd't find their arse with both hands. However, this is only a small gripe and I wouldn't let it deter you from using this first rate importer. Leigh.
