Just been on http://www.hotrodders.com/ Got to say I was bowled over by the level of craft, commitment and all round know-how on show...bloomin' impressive! (Particularly some of the paint-jobs and custom interiors!:D) Thought I'd spread the word...;) Leigh.

Well that was a bloomin disappointment! :( I'm a fan of the original movies myself (in fact the DVD box set "Trilogy of the Dead" is sat next to the PC as I write this) and thought this remake really could've been so much better. I'm not saying this in a faux machismo kinda way, but it just wasn't that scary. They failed to make the most of a premise that could be, in the right hands, sh1t your pants frightening! An example being the "birth" (won't describe it so's not to spoil it for those yet to see it). That had the potential to be VERY unnerving, yet it left me thinking "Oh. So that's it is it?". Put it this way, Lucie didn't flinch at all during it and was fine afterwards!

Off out in a minute to see DOTD with Lucie...can't wait! Only just managed to persuade her to see it with me as she don't do horror movies as a rule...we'll be sleeping with the light on tonight then! :rolleyes: ;) :D Leigh.

You'll have no worries fella. Found out the other day that my car is actually an auto to manual conversion (came as something of a suprise and might explain why the clutch is bearing up so well under the increase in power!;)) and I'm running a re-mapped manual chip with no problems. Leigh

No disrespect to Dave but have you thought about doing it yourself NightWolf? Just had mine bead blasted internally by a mate. As I knew him it only cost me a :duffer: but he said it would be £40 normally. He did say that bead blasting will not reach all the internal surfaces, only extrude-honing, where they force abrasive paste through will do this. There will be a slight improvement, but to really get the best results you need to spend a LOT of money and get someone to employ the "gas-flow" process. I'm in the process of getting the rough cast finish off myself at the moment and TBH, although it takes time with angle grinders, dremels and wet and dry, it really isn't that difficult and it's very satisfying to see it start to look good! :) Cheers, Leigh.

Well, although she ribs me mercilessly for spending money on the Zed, Lucie's really cool about it and in fact...she loves the car! Lucie and I dropped in at my mates house yesterday on route to the local and while waiting for him and his missus to get ready, decided to thumb through last months copy of Fastcar magazine that was lying around. Turned to the tuning and accessories bit and b*gger me if I didn't find a small feature on Smithys! Apparently you can "bling up your engine bay area with these proper bo polished goodies"! :D Leigh.

With all the talk of Plenums at the moment, today I spoke to a guy I know who runs his own company offering bead-blasting etc. According to him, the difference between bead-blasting and extrusion in terms of effect on air-flow would be "minimal in the extreme"(his words). To find significant improvement the "gas-flow" process would have to be used. One benefit the extrude/honing process has over bead-blasting though with something like a Plenum is that the abrasive paste would pass through the whole of the internal workings whereas with bead-blasting, apparently you are limited to a 45 degree angle of attack dictated by the machinery involved, meaning some of the internal surface would remain unaffected. At least I think that's what he was getting at, never the easiest guy to understand! :) Leigh.

Thought I'd ask you guys for a bit of advice. Getting thoroughly fed up with my sloooooow connection at home and reckon it's about time I got Broadband to speed things up. As a total novice in this field, could anyone point me in the right direction, which company you'd recommend, do's and don'ts etc? Aside from my main computer, I have a laptop that lives upstairs that isn't connected to the internet at all that I'd like to hook up as well. I'm currently using Tiscali (through a "box") on my BT line and have been eyeing up the £15.99 a month+modem+installation deal they have at the moment.
