  1. But if the bolt is, as you say a higher value tensile strength, and the weld breaks, it will still hold the bracket in place, as it is a spacer bolted through to the caliper. If the bolt sheared, then things will be bad, but if a bolt sheared on any bracking set up, it will be bad, thus the bolt is the weak point. Al.
  2. Happy birthday matey!!!!! Al.
  3. If you get some brackets machined from a billet of aluminium or steel, all corners and intersections must have a minimum radius set by design, again to prevent cracking. A flaw can start from a machined item with a very small radius or no radius at all, same theory as bending sheet metal, small bend radius->liable to crack, large bend radius->not liable to crack. Al.
  4. The welded part of a fabrication is the strongest, in some cases stronger then the material itself. The weakness is the srrounding element. The heat anneals the weldded area, then the further out from the weld, the more brittle it becomes. This is why, when you see a welded item crack/break, it is in-fact, the edge of the weld, not the weld itself. Al.
  5. Daz, I have looked at the brackets manufactured, and the quality in my eyes is first class. I will be taking them to work in the morning for my x-ray department, my welding and my heat treatment depatrment to get their opinions. Not looking to hang you buddy, just a few extra eyes to see what they think. I work in the aviation industry, and have some very gen people working with me. Maybe as a thought i could get them de-brittled, then hardened and tempered, just a thought. Al.
  6. I did want a momo upgrade but it was too much money!!!! LOL Al.

  12. I got a 300 too!!!! minus the wing mirrors, (kids!!) LOL Al.
  13. It depends on the bracket matey. There are brackets for the 350Z disc 324mm x 28mm, and brackets for the Skyline disc 324mm x 28mm, but with a different offset. If you have got the brackets from Daz^^above^^ then you will require the 350Z discs. That is correct isn't it Daz. Al.
  14. WOW!!!! fantastic matey, what a transformation to your 300, even with the work going on. Looks great. Al.
  15. IMO matey, i would not pull the plenum for 1 or 2 injectors, or even all injectors. Mate, i replaced all my injectors using the dremel method, and i know, i know.... replies... here they come!!! If you need help matey, give me a shout and i will come round to give you a hand. It is an easy job, 6 injectors replaced in approx 3 hours. Al.
  16. Usually a boost leak will drop the pressure when on full boost...a big leak, and it sounds/ feels like no fuel, running on five, etc. A small leak may only be detected with a boost leak detector, have a search for this. Have you checked the PTU? If you have a series I PTU, i would go for a series II, very good upgrade and eleminates any running issues derived from the PTU. HTH Al.
  17. Hey people, I started a thread some time ago reffering to lowering my 300, and jimmytt photoshopped my zed and it looked awesome.
