Really p*ssed off - attempted breakin
Sorry to hear about this mate. As for getting a lock to match your key, you can do it but think it is agg. If like most people you use the fob to open the car, it wouldnt seem worth it. Hope you get it sorted :)

limited
there is a mod to the jap clocks, so that they read in mph. You change a 31ohm resistor for a 22ohm one IIRC, but I got too hamfisted with putting the needle back on and knackered it . You know when you think it needs just one more little push and .....b******s.

Anyone done a DIY cambelt change?
it is said that if it goes at low revs you may be lucky and not bend any valves. Ah for the days of the ford pinto, break a belt at full tilt, change the belt, set the timing and drive on :D

limited
I had a speed converter fitted when i bought the car and it failed, it didnt mess with HICAS (NA) but did mess with the power steering. Bought second hand uk clocks and had a chip fitted, reads miles, no speed limiter, higher rev limit . NICE :)

Anyone done a DIY cambelt change?
I done mine, full 60k service, about 1 month after i bought the zed (never having seen under the hood of one before then). I followed the instructions (off TT.net IIRC) they are not exact, but give a good idea. If you are anywhere handy with a socket set then you should be able to do it. It took me two evenings, but that was mainly because I didnt have a set of longreach allen keys (for between the top and bottom water pipes). If I was doing it again I would leave between 6-8 hours to be safe. One tip i would offer is get your self a large piece of cardboard ( I used an opened out frosties box) and push all the bolts you take out through it and write where they came from. There are loads, and you will get confused :) apart from that get amongst it :)

headlights again...
I wouldnt go as far as using the oven, borrow her hairdryer and use the hot setting (unless of course you are the sort of big girls blouse who has his own hair dryer) :)

headlights again...
dont know from cleaning the reflectors, but would advise that you do the headlight mod, this allows you to fit standard H3 bulbs. ( I looked on the web for the H3C bulbs (to fit jap spec) and they were twice as expensive and a long waitning time. light mod HTH

Shall we merge the for sale and wanted section?
How about you have a "for sale " button and a " wanted" button, but put the posts on the same area. you can then force a difference, stop the muppets getting it wrong :)

ECU that'll work in a NA, TT with MT or AT?!!!
From the fact that they call it a "turbine" and thay they "are not sure of its exact spec", I would say dont touch it with a barge pole. I am not sure from AT/MT, but I am sure that a turbo eprom is different from that on an NA HTH

Not talking about my haircut :)

Fuel line kit
In the middle of fitting afuel line kit, all going well. Minor problem is that there is a small metal pipe under the two main metal fuel pipes which run across the plenum (shown in pic). What have others done with this?

**warning**
My most recent one (and a warning to you all) was chasnging the door cards. Took the old ones off, removed all the plasric bits and bobs, which are all marked left and right, except for the little pieces that go around the door opening lever. They both look exactly the same, even fit the opposing door, so fitted them both, lovely. Took the car down the garage, filled up with optimax, went to pay locking the car on the key fob (a thing I never do in garages, I know you are supposed to ) came back to the car beeped the key fob, lights flashed tried to open the door, didnt budge. Feeling a bit silly, thinking had hit the button twice, beeped again, checking the flashes, still couldnt open the door. Of course by this time car is looking to use the pump, me trying to rip the door handle off. Decided to use my newly cut NISMO key to open the door instead, doesnt work (the cut was poor anyway and still doesnt open the door). Guy looking to use the pump is staring at me, round to passenger door, key got stuck in the lock! Had to call Mrs Jock to bring down the spare, luckily not far, and explaing to the guy that i couldnt get into my own car. (had to be nice, very difficult for me when i have the hump). Long story short , the two catch surrounds, though similiar, are different enough to foul the latch, the will lock, but not unlock without a load of grief. So beware :)

speedo conversion
not too sure if the odometer runs off the same signal as the speedometer, but imagine it will be pretty easy to tell

Should they.........?
I dont have kids so probably shouldnt have an opinion, but the amount of cars doing the school run with one kid and a parent in them, then parking all over the shop gets a bit much sometimes, I know it would P me off even more if they were parking in my residents parking bay. A good walk in the rain in school shorts never did me any harm :)

gonna make a CD for the Zed....
on the way home from what laughingly passes as work in this neck of the woods I realised that the complete soundtrack (including the chat) from lock stock and two smoking barrels should be on there
