bike licence
Yes RVF400 is import only. Great bike - built to an incredibly high spec with top quality parts. It's predecessor (the VFR400) was sold (briefly) in the UK and cost the same as Honda sports 1000 they sold at the same time (about £6K but that was 1989). The RVF and VFR are part of Hondas top-draw, racy NC/RC family of bikes. On the down side they're small and fetch high prices used for quite old bikes.

Anyone been to Thailand?
I'm organising me honeymoon. Planning to go to Thailand for the best part of three weeks. Any recomendations or advice of any sort would be top. Thanks! :hyper:

Ah, bless yer Chunk - you're a gent. As for bikes I would suggest exactly those. The Bandit's the tamest. Possibly a Suzuki SV650. I worked as a motoring journalist on a major motorbike mag for the last 5 or 6 years (I just left) and I've ridden pretty much every bike available in that time. I'm about to buy a bike myself (after years of free ones!) and I think I'm gonna get a Fazer 600. It's a great bike for a beginner or someone with a bit more experience. Teapots bikerclub is a great forum and autotrader.co.uk has a superb section of loads of machines for sale.

Zed In Paint Shop
Shouldn't it be done somewhere inside so dirt won't blow onto it?

Japshow, Santa pod, 9th October
Went along but turned up late with a hang over. It was a good day but the queues (to go on track, move about the place and even leave) were so long it was taking the p1ss. Slick Pete did a very impresive run in his SWB NA - I think he may have regained the NA crown - mighty impressive, especially as Santa Pod has such a slippery start line. Edit - did anyone see (or better still photograph) the 1999 T-reg 300 (red apparently) near the entrance? I looked but couldn't find it.

NZR Food for thought how and why?
Ah.. now.. I did three years on this at college. You have to think of the genes which programme the body as the basic 'replicator' not the living thing itself. Genes are concerned about how many copies of themselves will exist in the next generation and nothing else. In fact, that's not really true, it's just those which are most common in the next generation tend to spread through the population. Birds will slow down reproducing when they reach a point where their genes realise they will be more numerously represented in the next generation with a lower reproduction rate than a high one. Or because their bodies hit physical barriers which prevent them reproducing (the initial calorific 'investment' of making a birds egg is far higher than a human one). Birds have a might faster reporoductive rate than humans so these strategies will have evolved in their gene pools. Humans have no such checks, except if they really are ill / malnourished enough they don't want to shag so that reduces the birth rate. That's my guess anyway. It's all in Richard Dawkins book, 'The Selfish Gene'. Probably. :duffer: :duffer:

My mate just bought...
A Nissan... What do you think of it? Can anyone name the model? This is what he said in an e-mail to me: It's a cosmetic donkey, but under the bonnet is a 250bhp '96 SR20DET, Nismo gearbox, Nismo 2-way diff, JIC coilovers and mucho trick stuff... £*** delivered to Southampton! It was just ***,000 yen plus fees and shipping... bought it at 3am the other morning when the baby woke me up! I'm gonna budget upto £**** to tart her up, pay taxes and get it on the road...

LOOKIN 2 BUY 300zx ADVICE NEEDED PLEASE
Non turbo is about 222bhp. No single turbo Z32, only Z31 (mid 80s model).

LOOKIN 2 BUY 300zx ADVICE NEEDED PLEASE
Welcome mate. All non-turbo 300ZX are imports. Ther single turbo was the older model 300ZX - the Z31. Most of the cars on this site are Z32. Do lots of research, ask lots of questions and find a nice car.

dont know if its just me.....
I don't mention mine to non car enthusiasts any more - which means most people. You can see their eyes glaze over if I start - they're just not interested. Thier loss!

anyone know about audi TT's?
Regulator / rectifier unit could be knackered? Must say I don't know much about cars either - just bikes really. Good luck with it!

Fiesta owner vs slapper......... (NWS)
He he, silly cow Nice t1ts though
-
Options - T/T vs N/A (newbie Q)
Think the NA broadly has everything the TT has except HICAS spec-wise. Also front (and rear?) spoilers different. I'd say find a good car and don't worry too much about exact spec.

Soon (hopefully)
You might get a nice 300ZX for £3K but if you're in a hurry and want a manual too, you could well end up with a rough one. You'll have to be lucky or compromise somewhere IMHO.
