  1. They'll be half price after Christmas anyway. You know (rant beginning) these new consoles never move gaming forward much. It's just better, smoopther graphics etc Where's the innovation - I have yet to see anything to match Elite and than ran on a 32K BBC Micro.
  2. Very sorry to hear that. Especially sad as he wasn't that old.
  3. I just got back from holiday. When you go to a poor country, there's often loads of little stalls selling carvings and ash trays and stuff like that for the tourists to buy. I always assumed they made the stuff they sell locally. But I've noticed many these stalls have some of the same stuff as each other, even if they're in different countries or continents. Anyone else noticed this? Think it all comes from a big factory in China? Or is it all in my head?
  4. That's the baby! Agreed regarding the wheels. I wonder what one would cost if an import place bought one over?
  5. My dream Z is the 'version R' model - I think that was a 2+2 only.
  6. You should have a crack whore in Krakow. ;)
  7. Happy birthday mate.
  8. Had mine recently (weekend) in Amsterdam. Old school but very, very good. It had everything everyone on my trip wanted. It's also a very short flight and easyjet go there from my local airport.
  9. Like the rears but yes, bet they're a sod to clean.
  10. I had a kidney stone. The worst bit was when it moved from the kidney to the bladder. The phone was about 6 feet away but I couldn't get to it to call an ambulance. THat lasted about an hour. When I p1ssed it out later, that wasn't nearly as bad. A kidney stone is meant to be worse than giving birth according to doctors. If my Mrs ever gets pregnant I'm going to remind her during labour that I've had it worse! Top army stories - scarey stuff - never been in the forces myself but I have played cards with men in uniform. ;)
  11. http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/cars_search.asp?modelexact=1&lid=search_used_cars_full&make=NISSAN&model=300+ZX&variant=&keywords=&min_pr=75&max_pr=&mileage=&agerange=&postcode=CB2+5AN&miles=1500&max_records=100&source=0&photo=1&sort=5&ukcarsearch_full=SEARCH £8995 It's an NA.
  12. With the dirty roads my car needs washing loads. A new fancy car wash has opened just near me which included 'underbody spray with rust inhibiter' or something like that. I'd like to use it cos a) it's easy and b) I like the idea of the underneath being cleaned / rust inhibited. I know the common wisdom is that a car wash can damage your car but has anyone ever seen a car that actuially has been damaged by one? Are we talking proper damage or slight swirls in the paint that polish out? I used to put my S13 200SX through one for years and the paint still looked gorgeous when I sold it. Could modern car washes be ok to use? What do you think?
  13. I've heard a bit about these new DVD clubs. You pay a monthy or annual fee and they have a huge collection of DVDs they post you (one or more at atime) and you return by post. I might join one. Can anyone recommend one or have any experience of them? Cheers!
  14. Wow, that is a seriously impressive transplant. Them's big rocker covers! Is it a pushrod engine or something like that?
  15. Perhaps you could make an analogue one with a protractor and some fishing weights. I'll knock one up for £15 if anyone's interested.
  16. Hi Vini. How fast is your car? ;)
  17. I'm very, very sorry - I didn't mean any offence. Let me explain. As far as I know rapid reaction forces like the Royal Marines get sent at short notice to volatile places in the world where bad things are happening. Many of these places are very different to the UK. I was led to believe boys under 16 fight in these countries and inevitably our forces could have to face them. I didn't mean our troops took any pleasure in it, just that it was a tough situation to be put it. I mean it must be a traumatic possibility to face and that's why training methods to prepare them for this sort of thing could seem strange to those of us outside the armed forces. I'm glad we have people like the Marines and I have a huge respect for what they do - I couldn't do it. I didn't mean killing children was something they wanted to do but an unpleasant possibility they might face. Maybe I'm wrong about the whole thing - I just saw it as a situation people like those on the TV might face and the rest of us might not understand it really, therefore not understand the training necessary to cope with this sort of situation. Maybe my views are commonly held misconceptions - no excuse though. Looking back at my post, I did word it badly - I'm sorry - I really didn't mean any offence and I relalise it was my totaly fault if I caused it.
  18. Didn't see the whole clip but I couldn't see anything wrong with it. If you're going to train people to go all over the world and do stuff which includes killing nutters and children you've probably got to adjust them a bit. I could be wrong though - you're the expert!
  19. There's loads of salt and slippery roads and p1ssed up drivers about. What do you do with your 300?
  20. Mine borrowed a tenner of me last week.
  21. Hey mate! I'm good - just back from honeymoon in Thailand! Cheers for the advice - PM sent to Mr Greddy!
  22. Hey peeps... I got an iPOD Mini as a present. It seems pretty cool but when listening to it through the (supplied) headphones, it's pretty quite. It's ok on full / almost full volume but on half volume I can barely hear it. Are they all like that or should I take it back to the shop and get it swapped? Cheers folks!
  23. Hey folks - I need advice - hope someone can help. Some bushes need replacing on my 300ZX. One garage described them as 'tension rod bushes' and the MoT place called them 'track control arm inner bushes'. I THINK they mean the same things by that but I'm not 100% sure! Any idea where I can get some of these bushes? Also, could I fit them myself or should I get a garage to do it? I'm not the cleverest mechanically! Cheers people! Tim
  24. Killing anyone is a bit harsh and the death penalty can't be justified IMHO. I'm not condoning it but it must be a right sod if you're born a paedo. I'm sure it's not something a normal person choses so it's a nasty card to be dealt. They shouldn't act on it of course and need help and society should be protected from them.
