  1. Not what you want to hear but you'll get much more if you fix it first.
  2. I am so sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with you and his friends / family. Remember the good times and go forward in a way that would make him proud. Good advice too - thanks for that - really made me think.
  3. Sounds good. You might find the eye or the zoo plus the meal is enough and two attractions would be too much. Been on the eye and had to queue for an hour or so to get on. There are some nice Chinese restaurants in Chinatown.
  4. PMSL Your S13's looking good though mate.
  5. My NA does about 17mpg round town. Maybe 29mpg on a run or even 33mpg if I'm gentle with the throttle. Probably average 26mpg overall.
  6. One had a Merc and was married to a Jewish lady.
  7. I've had three old blokes I know quite well see my car and tell me they really don't like the Japanese because of the war. I guess they have good reasons so I feel kind of bad when they tell me that. I know it was a long time ago etc and it certainly doesn't put me off owning the car. Just wondered if anyone else had run into this situation?
  8. I'd call it a Grand Tourer too. Like an Aston Martin or Maserati 3200. Not quite a supercar - although it is quite super!
  9. £32K in 1992 rising to £34K in 1994 according to the Parkers boowk.
  10. I do every year. Brings it down by about £80 every time. Shows how f'ing stupid insurance companies are!

Good man Rich - will try and make it to as many as I can - especially at The Pod and the JAE!
  12. He he, sounds familiar. When I got the Z I let (the now) Mrs Craig David drive. Was always a bit nervous until she bought it home again! She was fine until one day she touched the front spoiler on a kerb - didn't mark it but she was terrified she'd damaged my car and never drove it again. Didn't ever let her use it in the wet though!
  13. Some good ideas there - thanks. 200SX is higher insurance than MX5 so not an option. It needs to be 1998 onwards really as he has NO mechanical sympathy or ability (he ran his Sierra for FIVE YEARS and 60,000 miles and never thought to give an oil change - bizarrely it never went wrong though!) I'm thinking along the lines of Puma, Cougar, Hyundai Coupe, Octavia. Not showbiz stuff but easier and cheaper to run than an MX5 and not too dull.
  14. He was going to get an MX-5 (eek!) but the insurance quote was £1200. What can he get that's cool, not too old (5-8 years max), cheaper to insure. Under £4k. He's never had a performance car so no 300ZXs!
  15. Plus less high speed stability, harder-to-get parts (bodywork, glass, bodykits), less luggage space, and a wierd 'sawn off' appearance if you opt for the little 'un.
  16. Suzuki Cappuccino and Honda Beat are both pretty camp.
  17. Motoring journalist  Just left a big national bike mag after five years there. Now freelance.
  18. My family live a long way way and it's nice to see them all and it makes an occasion of it. Not bothered about presents, baubles etc
  19. All the stress and seething keeps my metabolism high so that keeps the weight off.
  20. I'd go for a Nissan 200SX over either.
  21. I bought a (very) late registered NA. I've had absolutely no problems in two years.
  22. 245 are too wide for the front I think. 225 are about the best width.
