I love the club and get loads from it. Long may it continue. And massive thanks to those who run it and all the memebers. I do wonder if the AGM at JAE is the best place to make big decisions. Didn't we vote at last AGM to NOT do that and to make them online using polls as this is mainly an internet based club and not everyone can make it to JAE (a point well made by 'Jock'). Also when we do have the AGM, some people have had a couple of beers and others may be intimidated to stand up and speak in front of a sea of unknown faces. I think when we talk about things like traders policy, we're talking about people's livelyhoods so it is important. Plus the traders are a cornerstone of the club and something that helps us all run the cars we love. In other words it IS important. It would be good if there were a way to sort out disputes like this on-line rather than at the AGM which only happens once a year and has limitations. The past few days events suggest to me a members only forum could be a better arena for this than those accessible by the pubic. Just my thoughts!

Crickey mate, quite a situation there. Mental illness is scarey for everyone concerned and amazingly common. Hope things improve for you - when you're right down things can only get better.

The Incredibles was excellent. I found the rest a bit dissapointing. Tim Burton makes these films which look so lavish and gothic you hope they'll be brilliant but every time the plot's always the same old Holywood shyte. The Incredibles was ace and Rossy's with me on that!

Get the last owner's name / address of the V5 log book, get their number from directory enquiries and give them a ring.

I think a number of issues have surfaced at once and are getting clouded. IMHO The club has not turned to sh1t. A bit of a ding-dong like this happens every now and then here and on all forums. It's great that people feel passionate about 'their' club and want to protect it. There is more than one issue that's sparked it off: 1) at least two people wanted to be traders and were declined. 2) There has been a disagreement between a club member and a trader. 3) Some memebers have expressed that they feel the club's trader's policy is unfair in some way. There might be more issues as well - it's sometimes so hard to tell. What's the answer? Hmmmm... I don't know.... other than make me and StellaZ the kings and everything we say goes and we solve disputes with 'thumb wars' at JAE. Seriously though, can a club like ours be sued? Does it have any / much money? Does a particular individual 'carry the can' and is responsible if damages are awarded against it (and if so is the club a money making venture for that person?) I do believe the moderators are all unpaid volunteers and do their best at what can be a tough, thankless job sometimes.

We could have a system where for every 1000 posts anyone gets, they can ban someone else for a week. It'd be like that episode of 'Peep Show' where everyone tried to get everyone else sectioned under the Mental Health Act. Obviously me and StellaZ here still run the show but it could liven things up a bit. :rofl: :rofl:

My old man works in the field of diet etc Atkins is bad / dangerous. The best answer is to keep track of callories and eat loads (and loads and loads) of fresh fruit and veg. Everything else in moderation is fine.
