'Lucky' is a kind of alegorical interpretation of Dire Straits' 'Money for Nothing'. Like I said, a very important artiste. Obviously I've shivered a few out over pictures of her on the net but well, we've all done that.

Don't worry mate - you're in - it's a certainty. :duffer: :duffer: :duffer: It'll be like when Scar and the hyenas took over Pride Rock in 'The Lion King' and generally bossed the place with a reign of terror.

She is a hard working and very valid young artiste. Some of her later works, including 'Toxic' and that one when she snogged Madonna are particularly important.

I can't get on their either. Hopefully I'll be able to get on soon and extend the 'Craig David from the internet' hold of power and reign of terror.

I don't play computer games but I download music free which I guess is stealing basically. But surely Britney Spears can wait an extra 15 minutes before she gets a fancy swimming pool with sharks in a tank or whatever she spends her money on. Whereas I can use the saved money to buy cider to keep the demons at bay a little longer.

The Maldives
Never been there but have visited lots of similar places. I'd guess it depends what price hotel you're in and what sort of fishing you want. Anything from £20 for some basic kit to £800+++ for a boat, crew and all the kit to go chasing Marlin, Tuna, sharks etc. I think as a holiday maker in the Maldives you tend to pay UK type prices but I could be wrong. ps you lucky, lucky barsteward - not that I'm jealous! edit - ask on the Lonely Planet site on their 'Thorn Tree Forum'.

just saw a red NSX in real life.....
The auto models are cheaper than manuals - there's a 1996 23,000 mile private sale on autotrader for about £20K now. Still not cheap!

Lovely cars - but they hold their value so well and are expensive used.

England the Scotts
Ok, ok, I'm no expert. So why do so many Scots cheer for "Scotland and whoever's playing against England" then?

Which supercar would you get?
I think mine's super and it is a car.

England the Scotts
I asked my mate who's Scottish (and very clever... and a bit of a leftie). He said.... **** me, there's a lot in there. The act of union (1707?)was a stitch up by the Scottish aristocracy. Sure, James 1st/6th was a Scottish king, but that doesn't mean much. It's all tied up with religion too - Culloden was as much a battle in a civil/religious war as Scots v English. For me the big thing is the 1980s. England voted Thatch in constantly because they were all doing pretty well under her (the South anyway). Meanwhile, decisions she took were shutting down all the industry in Scotland. We voted for Marxist Labourites, we got Milton Friedman economics throwing us all on the dole and turning our working people into benefit and heroin junkies. There was 60,000 people in Greenock in the 1980s, and 25,000 men worked in the shipyards and marine engine works. Nationalised industries. Thatcher took the ideological decision to stop supporting them, and they -all- closed down. An island nation not building ships! She made sure the dockyards in the south got loads of navy work though. Look at any ferry you like now and it's built in Italy. You think the Italians are better than us at building ships? We just gave in so she could spend the money on tax cuts, Trident and sucking up to the Yanks. It was the same with coal mines and steel works and aluminium smelters. They all closed down because England voted the Tories and their free-market policies in while Scotland was voting Labour as hard as it could. We called it the democratic deficit. The Tories didn't have one MP up there, but did what they wanted. And no-one in England gave a toss. There's much, much more on this. Best served with a load of beer. That's why I've got a Paraguay shirt in the post for the first match...

Sorry guys - Derby is a bit far for me.

England the Scotts
Why are Scottish people often anti-English then (as suggested in the initial post) ? And was Renton / Ewan McGregor talking out of his arse in Trainspotting? And why is Parliament in London? I'm not suggesting I'm correct and you're not, I just genuinely wonder. And it's ignorance on my part not an attempt to cause division. Far less sinister.

Have to admire their nerve!
Our camera van's aren't even run by police - they're manned by civilian 'do-gooders' who could do with a slap IMHO. So we could do it - it's a no risk situation. (Obviously I can't take part myself due to an old sporting injury and it might violate my parole conditions) :nelson:

England the Scotts
They're angry and bitter cos the English gave them a shoeing and took their country. :nelson:
