Time to say good bye...
Cheers Cos. I was going to wait till I had the car ready, but here goes. Firstly, the obvious stuff. Metalic Grey 1991 J Spec TT Auto. All leather interior. :) Servicing/History. Fully documented, comprehensive history since the day it was imported. Every receipt, every job done is in this folder. Oil & Filter every 3000 miles. Major belt change when imported at a reading of 67604. Just about to undergo its next big service at 97,000. Series 2 PTU installed. Fuel filter, plugs etc all replaced. Too much love and attention to list. ICE. Last owner installed a massive amount of ICE. All kenwood components: Masked head unit, front components, rear 6X4s, Tube sub in the boot plus 10 disc multi changer. Nothing over the top. Just very high quality sound. Oh, and loads of sound deadening material in the doors. Mods. K&N Filters, SS Mongoose Exhaust, HKS Dumpvalves with steel hardpipes (these may or may not be on the car at sale, as I also have Smithy's SS hard pipes as well), engine chip with jets, running at 13 PSI. Drilled & Grooved front Discs. 99 Spec front & High level rear spoiler. And to top it all off, it had a full respray back in September last year. By the time it comes back to me, it will have the radiator SS hard pipes as well. Security. It has a laserline CAT1 alarm and last year Bob fitted a Tracker system to it as well. The car now runs sweeter than it ever has since Ive owned it. Ive poured money into it like there was no tomorrow, with no intention of ever getting it back. Its been worth every penny. I cant believe that Im actually going to be selling it.

Time to say good bye...
Main reason is cost. Ive put about 15K into it over the past year or so. Mostly on petrol. Now its time to pay it back. Plus Im needing to buy a house, so every penny counts. The second reason is that I hardly drive it now. Typical, finaly get a garage and classic car insurance, but dont actually drive it anywhere! Thirdly, the scum that have recently moved into the area seem intent on finding any nice cars and keying them. Or smashing the wing mirrors off, as in my case. I cant do the car justice by having it sitting away not being driven. So, as its running as sweet as a nut, with the knowledge that its been fully serviced, I'll sell it. Its going to be very difficult to see it go, I can tell you. I'll hopefully be able to take it to one last show in June, before it finds a new owner. Oh well.

Time to say good bye...
Well, after over a years ownership of the best car I have ever owned, it s finally time to say good bye. Its off to get a full service, touch up at the bodyshop and the full Bling engine makeover, and when its back it will be up for sale. Be about July I imagine. oh well... Wont be the last one I own though. I will be back. :)

Boot lid lifting?
Sounds similar to the problem I had with my boot. You will be pleased to hear that it cost me almost nothing to fix. :) There are 3 screws taht hold the locking mechanism in, the threads had stripped off of them. Replace them, adjust the mechanism and away you go. :D Hopefully thats all thats wrong. Shouldnt need to replace your spoiler for that! ;)

Extreme Bike riding?
When you read something like that, makes me realise my problems dont really count for anything in comparison. Helps put things into perspective. :)

Lowering zx
Id be careful about lowering this car. I have a fairly standard setup, slightly harder springs, but same length, and poly bushes. However, when I had the 99 spec front bumper put on, I now catch speed bumps 50% of the time. Not enough to cause real damage, but enough to take a bit of paint off from the underside. Im not going down the lowering route, just saving up for some 19" Rims :)

De-catting an NA- should you do it?
Rich, I know what you mean about resonance, about 2500 you can only hear exhaust. You could try turning the stereo up more ;) Or you could try some more sound deadening material in anyplace you can fit it. I just find it adds to the character of the car :D BTW, how does it sound near the redline :)

NZR- what daily drive?
I used mine as a daily driver, but the fuel bills were sky high. If Id have bought a small runabout at the same time as the Z, I could have saved so much money that I could have had new turbos, Tein suspension, a full retrim and an engine rebuild by now. Wish I had done that ;)

NZR- what daily drive?
You want cheap?Ive got a battered 93 Pug 106 1.4 Diesel. Gets about 60mpg. Nothing to insure, wont be stolen, but cant get past 30mph up hill ;) Rather do my 108 mile round trip a day in that than put the strain on the Z. Oh, you dont mind it getting filthy either ;)

from 1 problem to another....
Sounds similar to the problem I had, turned out to be one of the hoses had a hole in. Replaced it, reset the ECU and all was sweet again. Bri.

This will bring the GTOs to Pod
Pete, Love that video!!! :D Might be up for this if I can get everything together in the car before summer. Oh, and get some new tyres at teh back. For some reason I keep sliding everywhere on 225/50R16's ;)

No getting away from the police!
You couldnt see out of them, you had to lie down to drive and they were meant to be uncomfy. God I'd love one (as well as the Z of course!) :)

turbo life
John, I have had no problems what so ever with the tubs. I have mine running at about 14 psi, about 5psi more than standard, this is coupled with a remapped ECU to cope with the need for extra fueling. This is giving me about (according to the SE Nissan RR day ;) ) 115 more horses than a standard NA. All that's just numbers though which means squat. ;) The difference in acceleration to the NA is noticable. :D However, you have to remember that these cars are over a decade old and really need the TLC to keep them in tip top condition. Mine now only comes out to play at the weekend, and if im on holiday. Like this week. :D

turbo life
John, As long as its been looked after, and the oil is changed regularly with good quality synthetic stuff, then you shouldnt have any problems. The problems seem to start when there is a lack of maintainence to the car. Or whacking up the boost on standard equipment without taking the precautions of upgrading the parts. I could take you out for a spin in mine, you might think its worth it. ;) Brian.
