carbon deposits all over rear bumper
Worth doing an emission test or diagnostic to check O2 sensors. I'm pretty sure the O2 sensors are not controlling when at Idle, so if you do an emission test make sure to increase revs into the opperating range.( any MOT centre can do this) F**kers to change, deffo need a man with skinny arms for this one. I had to get a mate to do mine. You will need a special tool to change the sensors. either a crows foot, or I bought a long series socket and milled a slot in it.( need somewhere for the cable to go) Once I did mine there was no more black soot on the back of the car. Efficiency also inceased from 15 to 20 MPG(urban) Andy

No Top Gear. Gutted
Hi Chewie My car ain't here yet. I'm living with my missus in a condo at the mo and there's only one parking space. Moving into a house soon with a double garage so i'll ship it out then. Cheapest quote I have had so far is 600 pounds with a Roll on Roll off shipping firm.(most cars from states come that way nowadays) Thats from southampton to Halifax, 11 day crossing. Because I now want to bring two cars its cheaper to get them both sent in a container, total cost a grand. Luckily I dont have to pay any import duty as the cars are my personal possesions. Think I preffer the thought of a container. I know the boys who load the cars on the Ro-Ro ships are total monkeys and are working against the clock. Andy

No Top Gear. Gutted
Hi Chris I'm Living in Winnipeg right now. Came to Canada last year for for the first time and spent some time traveling all over the country. Was back in the UK at Xmas but moved out to Winnipeg to be with my missus this June. Have to say that BC if my favourite place and hopefully moving there next year for a couple years before returning back to Plymouth. But who knows we may stay longer. Absoloutly amazing place and the standard of living is so good! ;) How about you, where did you go? Andy

Pics from cumbrian car show today
I do like the Mk1 Astra. Must admit not the kind of car i'd want nowadays but full credit to the owner. Is it RWD or those big back wheels just for show? Andy

Admin shite!
That all sounds so f**ked up buddy. Sorry she had to go through all that. Student visa's or even Temp visa's are so simple to process in Canada and the Employer should be responsible for all of the processing. Its only when you go for perminent residence status that you get all the rest of the crap. Maybe different rules for working in health care I guess? I'm on a temp visa at the moment and didn't have to do anything. Toronto is a nice place though, sure she will enjoy it. She can pick you up loads of tuning goodies cheap whilst she is out here. Be worth it just for that. ;) Andy

WTF are these.........
looks to me like they should be fitted on a horse and cart. Try and corner hard with those waggon wheels and they will snap in half.

Got my wheels
Nismo are a good choise but pricey. I have a mixture of them and Energy suspension bushes. Be warned though, rear subframe removal is a big job. If your bushes are original its likely they will need doing. I found an instant improvement, back end felt so tight. Would just squat down and go even under high boost. Completely eliminated any wheel tramping. Andy

Got my wheels
Hi John I used to have an MR2 Tubby and I have to say the Z is by far a better drivers car. As long as all the bushes shocks and Hicas are good the Z its a great drive. I used to find the MR2 was far too twitchy and I never got confident with the car. Great thing about the Z is that power is only restricted by your pocket (to a degree) ;) Andy

Had my last drive today...
I know what its like to be with out the Z. Kind of sucks big time. I was out the country for six months last year and not seen it for two months this year so far.   I remember driving it for the first time when I came back to the UK last year. Fook did it feel fast! It will be worth it in the end. Andy

FAO Mac and his nuclear power plant engine!
Once I've moved into me house and all settled i'll be importing cars out this way, huge demand for jap cars especially Skyline GTR's. You can sell R32's out here on RHD for 12k!!! I belive you can buy them for about 7k

Bl**dy Pterodactyl!!
So how many Araks in the tuppaware beakers did you manage? think I drank 12 one night. Dont remember the rest. There is a new paddies now further down near poppies one I think. I'm hopefully going to Australia for a period next year so hoping to pop across to Bali for a week. Andy

FAO Mac and his nuclear power plant engine!
Z's are still worth mega money out here even in standard spec. see link http://www.canadatrader.com/result/result.aspx?searchtype=adv&kw=&dp=&age=&kfr=1&kto=2000000&category=4000&mk=NISSAN&md=300%20ZX&yfr=1900&yto=2006&pfr=16000&pto=9999999&postal=&distance=&city=&pro=&dm=1&type=province Cost of shipping is 500 pounds each way and takes 11 days to get here. Whilst i'm living out here for a while it's a great opportunity to build the Z I wanted. Could never justify the cost in England. Some people think I'm mad bringing the car over here but i'll save about 4k on engine parts. Took me a long time to find a very cleen Z so may aswell keep it. Andy

Hola all
UK but didn't know there was a difference?? Sounds about right at 55 mph. Must admid i've never tried to drive that slow, you must be very disiplined!! :p Slowest I can can drive on the motorway for long periods is 70. ;) I guess after an engine rebuild thats fair enough.
-
Hola all
I was refering to urban driving but your right. On a run expect better. I've never seen 32MPG. Best I've had on a run in 26 MPG and that was constant 70 mph with very little positive boost.

FAO Mac and his nuclear power plant engine!
Aint that just true. I'm going for a big power motor this winter, either with the VDG30 or the RB26 I've got. Not decided yet, maybe too much work for the latter? All I know is all the parts for both lumps are about half the cost out here in Canada compared to the Uk and their easily accessable. When I bring the Z home in 3 years she should be a full on monster. She will almost be an antique by then aswell

Bl**dy Pterodactyl!!
No way. I was in Kuta the week before the bomb went off. Spent a month on the island often Drinking in Paddies bar. Ive got very fond memories of the place. The Balanise people are probably some of the nicest in the world. They never deserved the bombings. I havent been back since but some of my friend our there now staying at Padang. Aparently it's getting back on it feet. Andy

Hola all
Welcome buddy, Dont expect good consumption out of a Z either. Moderate driving round town will give you 16-17 to the gallon. If you drive like a granny you may see 20 MPG :) Andy
