  1. Deffo need a relay. But like I said they may already be built into the seat?;) Need someone to clarify. I aint got my car at the moment so cant check for ya. If not you can buy a relay and holder from any electrical wholesaler. (12v) Wiring up is fairly easy and a diagram should be given in th e packet. Will draw you a diagram though if you get stuck.;) Andy
  2. Not quite old enough to have owned one but I did have a Grifter!!! Funny, but the latest generation of chopper bicycles are big buisness out here in Canada now, you see kids riding them all the time. Cant say I have seen any in the UK, they actually look pretty smart. Check out the back tyre! Andy
  3. I have fitted UK 95 spec heated leather in mine. I gave the seats a direct feed with nice size cable. These seats draw a fair bit of current so dont use speaker cable! Both my seats are just good for power movement at the moment as I never did get round to connecting the heater contlol switch. I believe all the relays are built into the seat but not 100% sure. Maybe someone can clarify ;) The contol button also needs to be wired up. I know on mine the wing mirror connector is different and you also loose use of the folding mirrors. I've got to jig something up there when I get more time ;) Andy
  4. Bet you a tenner you take it on on a nice dry winters day. You wont be able to resist ;) Andy
  5. Was that in Plymouth Dave? Andy
  6. The love afair will just grow and grow my friend. ;) Glad things are going well for ya. Andy
  7. Must be a record! ;) Must admit I do miss the English weather sometimes. The heat can get a bit relentless out in here in Canada. Think i'll be coming back to the UK when it starts getting down to -30. Mind you, it will be a nice cold dense charge for the turbos!! ;)
  8. Doen't get much use then being in the UK. :x: lol
  9. Rare being the word. I was trying to get one of these a while back, you cant Import a Z that new now apparently. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=43762 Andy
  10. Knock on effect of the lack of oil being produced in the Gulf of Mexico at the moment. It will settle down again once there up and running. Its gone up to a whopping 48p a littre here in Canada. Shocking  Andy
  11. When my Z is in the same country as me I'll try and use it every day. I did have a stage where I had another car and only used the Z on weekends, but that sucked to be honest. Whenever there was a decent car worth racing I was in the Derv. Used to make me mad chugging along knowing I had 400 ponies sat at home in the garrage. Soon scrubed that idea!
  12. Spot on Dave, However in the states/Canada they are now using the AKI (Anti Knock Index) I've had to do a load of research because i'm shipping my car out to Canada and dont wont to melt anything ;) Had an interesting chat with Shell's leading development engineer ;) Different octain systems RON. Used in Europe and japan. Very old system developed in the first world war because aeroplanes were suffering from engine failure. They needed some regulations put in place. MON. A much newer test developed on modern combustion engines in the states. AKI. The latest system level developed for todays engines. Far superior to RON with far better control of quality Basicaly 98 Octain (RON) in the UK is the same as 92 Octain (AKI) in the States/Canada.
  13. Cant say I have ever seen that one. There was a silver one with the same wheels as mine in Plymouth a while ago. (He went to my mates wheel shop and asked for the same rims as that white one driving round. Mine;) ) copying bast*rd
  14. Different ball game now. The Z was designed to be a suppersports so will always demand respect. The same cant be said for the likes of Nova's, astra's and cavaliers! It was good fun while it lasted though.
  15. That was nice project Si. Bet you were chuffer with it back then. I know what you mean about growing out of things though. Hasn't happened with the Z and I've had it 6 years now. Andy
  16. Back then I was trying to source a redtop turbo but they were megga money. To be honest the 16V on 45's had a bit of power. Think it was about 195BHP. Doesn't sound much now but when I was 18/19 it was fooking awsome!;)
  17. Wolf in sheeps clothing, nice. I used to have a Mr2 Cavalier when I was 18. I dropped a 16V and bolted on some twin 45's. Rapid car. Blew a many of cossy's back in the day. Never going to pull that off in a Z though. Everyone knows there fast!!!
  18. Makes me mad how so many companies are using foreign call centres nowadays. I used to have a '3' phone when they first came out and had problem after problem, always having to talk to someone I couldnt understand in India! Think '3' lost most off its original customers so goes to show the cheapest was isn't always the best way. I'm not racist but I like to talk to someone who I can understand. :x: Andy
  19. Bit of history in the making there!! I gave a guy a hand to drop a Rover V8 into a chuvit. Now that was fun ;)
  20. has anyone ever shoehorned in a Viper V10 lump. Now that would be something!
  21. Is that a 5.7 lump? looks faily lost without all the normal ancillaries. Very nice though ;)
  22. Have you looked into getting a second hand window? You could fit that srait away ;) Andy
  23. Wont cause any probs Si, the use of a high quality oil will just protect the engine better in the long term. Andy
  24. Thats what I've got im mine. 40 pounds for 5 litres if I remember correct.
