i had a custom made s/s one done. fitted for £425. why not enquire at a decent exhaust centre. you tell them what you want & they will make it.

in the pics you put up. it looks to me like the temp needle is below the stop pin rather than above it :D

that all depends on your budget & whether you want to stick to AMD

yes mate. thats all i ever do with mine if i want to upgrade. the main thing in things running quicker is the proc & ram. you may get away with just upgrading them alone depending on what your mobo will take. if you get the make/model of the one youve got in, then you can find out what the maximum size proc & ram it will take. tbh, 1gb is plenty for what you want to do, so it could just be a case of new proc. the only other way to speed things up considerably, as ive done, is go for scsi hard drives, but they arent cheap. a standard IDE drive runs at 7200 rpm, but the scsi`s are 10000 & 15000 rpm, so you can imagine the difference.

i wouldnt even give it drawer space. it would go straight in the bin :smash:

if it was me, just upgrade the mobo, proc & ram. thats all you have to do if you want it quicker. otherwise you are just wasting your money.

doesnt matter if it has climate control or manual, they all have a resistor pack fitted.

i must say vijay, its been a long time in the pipeline with the let downs youve had with your car. and after nearly giving up on it, its nice to actually see that its near the end & youve stuck with it. nice one.

as already said. most common problem on any car is the resistor pack with this problem. ive not looked but im sure its located behind the passenger side glove box. normally a small unit with around 4 wires & 2 screws that hold it in. if you are any good with a soldering iron then its an easy fix, just solder a bridge wire across the resistor, job done.

one word "ombudsman". since when is it the customers fault "THEY" dont have a tick box for uk or import ? i would say its their fault, not yours.

another thing to remember is, a colour camera doesnt work with IR lights, only a black & white camera will. some modern cameras switch from colour to b&w when night time comes, but you are looking at big money for a good one. ive just sold a load of pro cctv gear as well. i do however have one left, its a colour camera with a huge zoom lens on it, it will zoom in & allow you to read number plates from around 200-300 yards, possibly more, and is clear as a bell. the camera runs from the mains & can be connected to tv via the yellow phono (video in) connector which is on most tvs now. if it was me this was happening to, i would put the camera on the window ledge & film it like that, so its not in view of anyone.

if i was you, i would take those visions and flush them down the pan mate, just ask anyone whos tried it, then ask what it cost to repair, or what they got paid from the insurance ;)

DONT remove the control panel. lol. it is very very rare they pack in in any car. if it doesnt work on ANY speed at all then check the plug & connections to the blower motor. if it work on ONE speed only, then its always the diode in the resistor pack thats gone. IIRC you can access the resistor pack with just removing the glovebox, and i think the motor comes out from underneath on passenger side. i will check on this though.

if i was you i would ring the ombudsman up and get them on the case if thats all they have offered you. i had this problem years ago with an insurance company. at the time the book value was £1300, they sent me an interim check for £850, then said thats what they are going to pay me. i rang the ombudsman up & i got a check the week after for the remainder. dont take their word for it and let them tell you, you tell them, and tell them you will ring ombudsman if they dont sort something better out. http://www.fos.org.au/centric/home_page/resolving_disputes/how_to_lodge_a_dispute/how_to_lodge_a_dispute_general_insurance.jsp

the max they were worth was as already said, £30 each, but that was quite a few months ago. the price of scrap has dramatically dropped since then. steel has gone from around £220 to £80 a tonne. its affected a lot of companies who have paid high prices for it & now cant sell it. the reason you may have been offered £10 each would be to cover their own backs in case it drops even more. i could get you a current price on them if required, its only a phone call to a mate of mine.
