  1. what is the file type steve ? could be one of many : avi, cue, bin, vob, mdf, iso ?
  2. allan. pm me his address & first name, i may be able to get the surname for you.
  3. you should be able to locate those wires behind the clocks/dash. just trace the wires back from the bulb to the plug and with the aid of a multimeter you can find out which is live & which is neg feeds.
  4. be VERY VERY careful where you connect this wire, otherwise it will hold the starter in and start melting things. i have done a diagram as to how this works. it is VERY important that this wire is not connected to the perm live side of the bulb as it will result in whats said above. it MUST be connected between the bulb & the pressure switch. it shows in the diagram what feed runs through that wire when running or non running & thats how the unit knows when to shut the starter off. there were quite a lot of these that either run from the oil switch, or the battery warning light/alternator. hope this helps you.
  5. unfortunately they have existed for years, and just to prove it, lets take a trip back to the 80s. does anyone remember this :D and this is it now :hurl:
  6. could be someones fitted their own immobiliser switch. find out exactly where is goes, or flick the switch & see if it starts.
  7. looks quite tidy for the year allan. not sure its the light reflection, but has it got a ding in front of the drivers handle ?. besides that, the mileage is around average for the age. ours is a 51 plate & has 98000 on clock. just do a history check on it, or ask the seller if they have already done one.
  8. theres a UK company here that does them, but not sure on the cost. scroll down to Model DC20/12 http://earlsmann.co.uk/power.htm
  9. hi and welcome. and heres a pic of what a standard TT bumper should look like with the vents for the intercoolers.
  10. you ideally need to get there very early and have a good scout round.
  11. traction control is a superb addition, but regardless of what you do, nothing will save you on black ice, once its gone, thats it.
  12. yeah. dont get me wrong, i too like the golf, mainly the 1.9tdi. but from a purchase/running costs point of view, and price of parts ect, it has to be focus. just bide your time and try getting one with service history.
  13. sorry allan, but this gets my back up. johnny. you havent caused any upset to me. but you insinuated that i have to repair twice, which i WILL take offence of. and talking about the aspect of a broad range, when youve worked for dealers such as LEXUS,/TOYOTA, FORD, FIAT, RENAULT, VW, FERRARI, PORSCHE, JAGUAR, SAAB, ect, plus anything from a mini, up to some very very expensive rare ferraris, then i think the chance of coming across any mechanical or electrical problem is far greater, with over 30yrs experience, 20 of them on the electrical side gives you a very very wide range of what vehicles have which common problems. so allan. stick with the focus mate.
  14. i think IIRC : "last night I met a new girl in the neighbourhood" or its close if not lol. hermans hermits : im into something good
  15. the wife has had a focus for a few years now without many problems. one thing i will say deffo look out for if you consider it allan, check under the passenger side carpet as they are prone to leaks through the pollen filter. its a common fault which ford know about. however there is an upgrade available to stop it. other than that i cant fault it.
  16. not true. lol. my neighbour has a 330ci & it cant match my zed from a standing start, plus wont even keep up with it.
  17. LMFAO. cook it then to cheer everyone up. :nana2:
  18. yes, plus would add, its takes longer to change one of the rear plugs than it does to change the whole 6 in a zed.
  19. no. its a totally different car, but the US version of it is the DODGE STEALTH.
  20. its too late anyway jimmy http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7832565.stm
  21. i doubt very much that any of those would cause it to reboot.
  22. the pics look like someones bled the clutch and not wiped the fluid off.
  23. ahhhh, journey - dont stop believing, absolutely awesome song. its the only rock song the wife likes.
  24. si. i know the manager at lexus in sheffield so not a problem. used to do a lot of their electrical work for them.
