  1. Have a look on my other thread matey, labelled 'to warrant or not to warrant?' ;)
  2. Right guys, Got the Autobox off finally last night and you were right about those top two bolts, right mare!! Anyway, on removal of the torque convertor, it seems as though one side of the collar is half worn down?!? As if the TC has been leaning to the side or something?!?! This would explain the kinda wooshing noise thats been coming from the Gearbox and also the oil leak as oil was escaping past the oil seal even though it looks fine. Now has anyone ever had this problem? Obviously I am going to have to approach VMTP and ask them WTF has gone on and I am sure this shouldnt happen after 2000 miles or less. Sam's dad hasnt got a clue WTF is wrong as he has never seen this in the 25 years he's been working on cars?? HE thinks perhaps a bearing in the gearbox has gone but the spline coming out of the box seems to be lined up??? Any ideas guys??
  3. Thanks for that, no I (WE) wont be pushing the car far, just long enough to see if VMTP will contribute in any form to whats happened. Anyway, diddnt get chance to start yesterday so I will start tomorrow night after the 1st day in my new job!! :hyper:
  4. Guys, If I remove the Autobox, torque convertor etc, can I still push the car around without it attached or does a rear engine mount come off with the gearbox that prevents the engine from being stable? :duffer:
  5. ANDY!!
  6. PMSL, *****x, can't believe I left myself wide open for that!!! :slap: :mac1: :mac1: :nelson: :smw: :o
  7. Paypal is good, but like ebay, they just want to bum fVck you!!
  8.  I am pi55ing myself here and the secretary is looking at me thinking, WTF is he on!!
  9. Thanks guys, 2 very valid points and just what I was looking for, confirmation of my thoughts.... I think Matty uses/used VMTP in Birmingham for his gearbox issues and they are a multi-national company. So in answer to your question Kenny, I think they could afford to turn me down. If they do, I think a second hand TC is going to cost about £80 (I think), adding the fact the gearbox has to come off anyway, I am SERIOUSLY going to think about going MANWELL. I wanted a MANWELL from the start but I couldnt find a good one. Hmm, I will post back tomorrow guys when I start taking the old girl apart..... PS. Its great going out with a girl when her father owns a garage, I get to do all my own work on her now and I am learning loads!!! 'Til tomorrow..... :duffer:
  10. Andy, I know you are the man when it comes to knowing the Zed but 38psi!!! I have the same rears and I find 38psi hard as fVck!!! Do u have any teeth?
  11. I will chip in too....every penny counts......never met him but spoken to him a few times....:)
  12. I am going for 'It's a wind up'....;)
  13. Hmmm, I couldnt remember when I first started having this problem but the date on this thread has confirmed it for me. Diving over to Grantham yesterday, gave the car a half decent run, it was wet so couldnt floor it anyway....well, I could, if I wanted to go round in circles!! Annnyyywayy, got to the garage and gearbox oil is dripping out from somewhere. Not had the car on the ramp yet, this'll be tomorrow but that noise I spoke about was getting worse so I figured something had to happen sooner or later. Glad I made it to the garage though!!!!! So, once again your opinions please (Diddnt get many before!! :( ) If it is the Torque convertor, which I have a feeling it is (Even though I know fVck all about them), do I get back in touch with VMTP and ask them to send me a new one or do I call andyZ and ask him how much for a second hand one and never use VMTP again? Fellas?
  14. Have always ran 30 on most cars I have had, zed is no different....

  16. If and when the time comes for the rebuild (lets be honest, its inevitable), I will undoubtedly replace most the loom. I feel like i can break most of it now with my bare hands!
  17. Cant remeber mate TBH, but they are the same as mine on my car now.... I think their Azev's or something like that, I will check and let u know later. I do know that theres loads of replicas out there now, I seen some on a saxo the other day!! :(
  18. I havent mate, sorry, but if you do a search on the forum, you will see an old thread where someone wanted to see different size exhausts. If memory serves me correctly I think the post will be about 5 months old. Good luck. :)

Did Nissan tell you this? If not, then check first as I think your really gonna struggle to get one quickly. I will have a spare rear 2+2 screen after next week.
  20. Have you tried disconnecting, cleaning the connector, and then reconnecting the PTU? Worth a go!
  21. Macca, whats happenin with the car bud? Any vids or pic of any runs? IS she runnin? :duffer:
  22. LMAO, I was wondering the same too! lol TVR pays better then mate?;)
  23. TBH, if you have a PTU series 1 then its worth while getting a good series 2 and swapping, or at least keeping it as a spare for whenever the inevitable happens! I sound like a miser! :) lol
  24. On 18"s mate, it happens too, especially if your car has been lowered, and lets be honest, how many people fit bigger alloys without lowering their car, not many at a guess! You can fit adjustable upper link arms (£400 from Luke @ Zedcentre) and also adjustable lower tension arms (About £200 I think from the same place) and then get the car 4 wheel aligned like me, to stop the uneven wear Kirbz is talkign about. Alot of money to solve the problem I know, but if your planning on keeping the car for a while then its money well spent. HTH. :)
