  1. Bit of a difference of opinion here but I have always used what the Father-in-law puts in most cars he works on. Its a semi-synth 10w-40 and that's always been good enough for me.... Why pay £25-£50 for oil!?!
  2. Guys Freed up some cash for the next 3 months so I have a grand to spend on new improved brakes, I am thinking I am gonna need them when this new chip arrives! ;) This is on top of the bodykit and spray work being done... But, If poss I would like to spend the £1K on brakes and better intercoolers (Side mount)...I can move on the £1K to allow for slightly higer prices.... So what traders/companies offer better braking systems for the Zed for reasonable cash? Prices & Specs if available.... ;) TA.
  3. LMAO, interesting thread and I need to believe someone so lets get our facts straight fellas! :D
  4. I know how it feels Mark, I've done under 1500 miles in mine since ownership, 2 1/2 years..... Thats why now the only fooker that touches my car is me! :D Although there are very selct few that I trust with it....but you know who they are anyway... ;) Cough....jeff.....cough......jd....cough........ Anyone got any lockets?
  5. lol, I know what you mean mate. After this project is finished, whenever that may be, I am gonna get a SWB N/A as a daily driver adn see hwo that goes... :) They are cheap to buy now after all! :)
  6. Thanks guys.... Homebrew, The internals for now are standard, I believe the standard bottom end is good for 600bhp, or thereabouts, do no need to uprate the internals just yet. After having a good chat with John Dixon last night he is going to supply me a chip to suit the new injectors I have so that should cure the running rich problem. That'll go on this weekend with the new stainless mid section and hopefully that'll cure the running issue. In regards to the Clutch, after speaking to Jeff last night also, he advises that the clutch slave cylinder could be jammed open with some air behind it, so a pair of molgrips should sort that too! I do believe I might be back on the road this weekend!! :hyper: And your right, I would like to say that I now know the car really well, and I'm not afraid anymore to do any job on it. In a strange way, I am looking forward to taking the engine out next year to get rid of loads of extras on the car that I really dont need. Have you seen under the bonnet of mac's car, simplicity at its best.... :)

Here here, I was scouring Ebay and the SH1T that is on there referred to as 300zx's is shocking. You know some chav tw@t has bought it, realised its not the cheapest thing in the world to maintain and run, and is now selling it on after removing any decent tread from the tyres and taking the last glimpse of life from the turbo oil seals. I think its gonna take a few years for all this to calm down......and then the clubs decent Zeds will shine through.... ;)
  8. Guys Who's had what done and whats the pro's con's of either? Ta.
  9. Thanks Rich Such a good feeling to hear her start up, the noise in an echoey garage is incredible!! Roll on this weekend, its all very exciting!!! :)
  10. Update... Well guys, thsi weekend I toped her up with the finest fluids. Fitted the apexi BOV's (Thanks AlexC) and Apexi PPI(Thanks Danny) and after a bit of coughing and spluttering she finally started up on the third attempt. :hyper: :hyper: The noise was incredible what with having no centre section and the new de-cat pipes on!!! I dont think the cars running right though, although I couldnt tell due to the racket the pipes were making. My conzult hasnt arrived yet but should do this week (I hope) so that I can find out whats happening with the engine. By the sounds that I could make out, the injectors are all working fine (Nismo 555's) but I could smell unburnt petrol very badly and the garage stunk of petrol. Loads of back firing if I revved it even slightly and it'd die before it started to increase the revs. The rev counter isnt working??!? and my Apexi oil pressure and water temp guages that I installed dont seem to be either?!? But thats easy enough, I'll take them off and now its running it'll be easier to test them whilst fitting. I do have an issue with the clutch though, I bled this with a friend and loads of air cam out but the clutch still feels useless and it isnt pushing the clutch release bearing lever?? I think more bleeding is needed and if that doesnt work then I will have to look at a possible leak?? Apart from that, I was amazed it started so soon what with the intensive work the car has undergone. So, come on Danny, get that conzult out to me so I can diagnose any issues and I pick my my new centre section up this week, that should tame it down a bit...... I'll keep you all posted with this weekends developments!! Hopefully driveable.......
  11. Camshaft intake pulley? I guess a brekers would do for a second hand one, try one fo the breakers int eh traders section here. They might be ble to help. Failing them, there's always American sites that do cheap zed parts... Do some hunting... Good luck... :)
  12. I disagree having tried both...but not 19's although I haev been in phil's and he has 19's.... 17's look lost in the Zed's arches, like on this car their too small, 18's are at home and the ride is OK, 19's are a hard ride and look AWESOME! Just my opinion of course... :D
  13. Yeah thats fine mate, the missus dad has his own garage and does tyre fitting, although I'd be dead worried abou him scratching them putting the tyres back on!! :( Isnt there a plastic horn thing you can use instead of a metal one?
  14. Same here, be nice to have a look.. :) Will be in touch within the next week or two dave so you can bring your car over.
  15. WOW! This sounds like a deal too good to be true. I think I'll beont he phone to them this afternoon! :) Cheers Mark.
  16. PMSL still, this is still a must, more of a novelty joke factor than a 'I am cool' factor though I feel..... ;)
  17. I will do Bobby, if you dont mind, I might end up getting you to talk 'paint talk' to my man closer to the time.... :) :duffer: Hey, no copying my black'n'gold idea everyone! :D Although, I am robbing it from the Subaru guys.. :)
  18. Cheers guys.... Bobby, is that gold similiar to this one you think? MMM, black and Gold!! YUM YUM!!! :D :duffer:
  19. OK now not sorted as the guy needs a gold paint code. I told him the same as the subaru gold wheels but he says there's 8 different shades?!? Anyways, I have phoned the subaru garage and they dont list any gold codes for their wheels!! S, what the feck am I gonna do? I need a code for a nice shiny gold similiar to the one above on the wheels. Any ideas guys?
  20. Hi mate I have actually sorted it now, £50 a wheel with refurbing them too!! Bargain!! Cheers...... :D
  21. Guys Does anyone know of a decent wheel sprayer in the midlands that can make my alloys the same colour as the pic attached? Anyone had any done before? M.
