  1. My thoughts exactly..... a knackered injector perhaps??
  2. And at the end of the day mate, its just a fooking bunch of wires connected to engine components.......the engine ECU and loom looks like a piece of piss out on the ground, trust me......give me a good length of wire and I could create one..... ;)
  3. I'll be there in me fooked zed! :D
  4. Whoa mate, hold your horses a sec, heres some positive thoughts for you before you start stripping everything off again. Quote= "yep tested that, and no spark.. checked the coil pack, (got 24 of the dam things ) thats readin the right impedance. (around 0.8 - 0.9 ohm) even checked the PTU. but it gives me some funny results! like no ground but it still works on all the other coil packs! i conna work this out! " What gives you funny results mate? The coilpack or the PTU? The PTU can be held resposible for a multitude of sins, ie.strange responses when somethings not quite right. Try changing the PTU for a different (proved working on another car) one. For the sake of £70!. And then check the readings again? You havent spoken about the condition of your loom? Would you put your hand on your heart and say the looms spot on? I know mine wasnt after 15 years service, it was fooked to say the least. Also, try a donor ECU, are your injectors standard or upgraded? For the PTU and ECU you could drive to jeffs and he'd loan you one to rule them out the equation..... I am betting its one of these at fault or the loom...what else is there?!?
  5. The metal clip has to be raised at the back of the clip, a few of the injector ones are a right ballache and if your connectors are old then odds on your gonna trash your connectors.... I got so pi55ed off with them all amost breaking, I replaced the whole bloody loom!!! Porbably the best thing I ever did for my car. As has already been mentioned, make sure you have a magnet at the back and if the connectors break, dont be surprised.... Good luck..
  6. Have you tested the coilpack on Cylinder 1? Check your getting a spark and also check the plug is OK.... Its gonna be a process of elimination......if all else fails, give jeff @ z-edworld a call...
  7. I know it doesnt look overly ferocious but I think thats the point with Astons, this car is now my aim for within the next 3 years.... They should drop a little by then too, not too much though I expect.... I really want the Vanuish but the cheapest one I could find was £83,995!!! Worth every penny.... :)
  8. This is going for £27K....Droooooolllll........ :D Very tempting.......
  9. OH MY GOD, is it real?!? Doesnt look it!..... I still feel sick though looking at it....
  10. Bubuche Thats a good question and also in the diagram it colour coldes the wire as Y/L. Whats the 'L' stand for? Lilac? :) Any ideas Lymon? Thanks in advance...
  11. I see, thanks for that.... ;) Where can I locate PIN44? Are you referring to PIN44 on the ECU?
  12. Lymon I have carried out this conversion and you've got me wondering whether I did this? I made a custom loom from the gearbox to the connector next to the power steering pot. 2 wires were needed AFAIK, one for the reversing lights and the other for the speed sensor.... Are you saying I've missed something?
  13. Yeah I diddnt ignore your last comment about the V8 Mark its just that I kinda feel the 'Twin Turbo' is a mark of the 300zx. Kinda like its styling, whats the point of radically changing the style if u love the 300. Some bodkykits completely take the car away from being what it is\was. IMO, a car like Macca's has been enhanced by the work he's done whereas a car like CJ's, as nice as it is!, doesnt resemble a Zed in my eyes anymore....but hat off to him for individuality... And I feel that way about the twin turbo too, if I wasnt bothered about keeping with the Z32 way, then definately I would consider a V8 or probably buy something else in place....a nice TVR or Aston's are getting cheaper now! :) (One day! DREAM) I hope I have explained myself well enough and not sounded like a fool.....even though I know your right Mark in regards to the heartache with the path I am choosing, I cant help feeling its the right one to take..... Wish me luck! :)
  14. Thanks mate, VERY usefull.... :D I have never used one before but how the hell can 4 bolts hold such a heavy engine?!? You know when you look at something and you have that feeling that its gonna break any second, isnt it a bit like that?!? Where do the bolts go into on the engine?
  15. LMAO, well I dont know any *AHEM*sailors*AHEM* to help but I do have a few friends willing to do a quick lift for a pint... :) Although, it'll be in the back of a Van, couldnt I connect the engine to the stand whilst its still in the van? Or am I dreaming? :nana2:
  16. For the sake of £50 and theres one in Leicester, this'll do I think! :D Got a new custom workbench going into the garage soon too, all very exciting.....
  17. Hi Alex, At least I now know what it is so I can now fix it.....sounds silly but it was a relief to know..... The engine is def going to be increased in capacity and the cryogenic procedure sounds almost essential for a higher spec engine.....its just trying to find someone in the UK that can do it for me....
  18. Thanks for that John, I am worried about warranty issues with buying in the US, a UK engine component reseller would be more beneficial..... I just need to find the time to search...... :smash: Although do you see any problem buying the components from the US, ie. rods, pistons, cams etc etc....
  19. Hello mate, Feel free to pop up whenever you like, its been a while... :) I'll look into the chargecooler stuff although I already have trust side mount coolers to go on which should be good enough for 500bhp.... Heatwise, I have quite a few ideas in mind, including a vented bonnet (essential on a zed!), new front bumper to go on with vented wings, bigger rad and a few other bits.... Let me know when you want to come up and I'll get the Soup and Porkie pies in! :D
  20. Guys Anyone know the approx weight of a zeds engine? I need to know so I know which stand to buy, they seem to come in 2 main weight categories: 750lbs(340kg), 1000lbs(450kg) and 1500lbs(680kg). I am guessing the 1000lbs stand will do... Any ideas? TA
  21. And wheres your air filters?
  22. Nice piece of kit there karlos, where'd you get them? And dont you need two AFM?
  23. WOW, thats a really good site...... I forse a large crate coming over... :D
  24. Ah, thanks for that SRRAE, I believe the ACT Stage 3 clutch I have is good for 500bhp so that should suffice for now......one less thing to buy.... So, I guess I need to overhaul the box or is it possible just to sort out the gear crunching with an overhaul kit?
