...only came on to find out what brake fluid to use - changing the calipers tomorrow...

wonderful - it's so that you can put the auto gear stick in whatever position you want whilst the engine is switched off. from memory you push it down then you can move the gear stick. Although I prefer the alien answer... cheerz Jack
  3. Dave - early NA disks are also thinner than TT disks - 26mm to 30mm, (I think I'm right on those numbers) so make sure the thickness is ok as well as the offset. Good luck Jack

they are horses - features in Brian Longs 280 and 300 Z book page 125 - Rinspeed promotional vehicle 1992 Geneva Motorshow - black car painted all over with white horses - 420bhp. I'll put my anorack away now. Cheerz Jack
  5. 91 is best. It's got more stuff (sorry for being so specific) than the later cars (I've a 97) and they were making large numbers of them so the profit was there. In later cars, they were cutting corners - that's my experience. For instance, the boot carpet in the later models is thin and poor quality - earlier ones it's woven, edged and soundproofed - and (again) without going into detail, it's a similar pattern all the way through the car. Good luck Jack
  6. I choose red to draw attention to the pink. I think that black wheels tend to get hidden, and with the body colour being (dare I say) so bold, the wheels - which after all are an important part of the whole statement, should be equally dareing in both complimenting and setting-off the pink. Get a photshop forum member to try pink wheels - see what it looks like. One more thought, when wearing a pink dress - what colour shoes would you wear? Good luck Jack
  7. Fab colour - would look good with a nose bra... And I'd do the wheels in blood red, not black. Good luck - hope to see the car some day. Cheerz Jack
  8. ...too much money. £1200 will buy you a K reg 2+2 na targa. Ok, it's not a slick-top, but if you are buying a Z, the removable roof makes for great summer driving (most of the year here in dry East Anglia). For a further £100 it'll have an MOT too. Good luck Jack
  9. Tyre seperation? Can you explain? ...or do you mean the tracking's out? Cheerz Jack
  10. Keith it's not difficult. I've done it by parking the car in bright sunshine - this is enough to warm the film adhesive so that it peels off easily - mind you, it was summer. Good luck Jack
  11. http://www.tg21plc.com These guys own Toad. You'll see at the top right of the home page there's a dealer locator. Enter your post code and bingo, here's your nearest dealer - assuming it's kept up to date. Good luck Jack
  12. The nissan bushes are silicone filled - it's that thats leaking - you need to replace them. You can get Nissan ones from MJP at about £40 each. I've used poly bushes before and they make the ride and steering harsher. I imagine the rose jointed ones are worse. Also there's storys about the poly bushes tearing the rear of the tie rod ends from the lower control arm - so, choice is yours. Good luck ...I've the same problem, and I'm not convinced it's the tie rod bushes, but, it's the cheapest place to start tracing the fault.
  13. I think that you'll find that your loom is different to that of a car that came with heated leather as standard. I went down the same route as you then gave up as life's too short, and wired in 2 seperate switches. Good luck Jack
  14. I do work for Toad - I can put you in touch if it'll help. Good luck Jack
  15. ...and padded shoulder blades.
  16. I've bought 2nd hand from AndyZ at £25 a corner including the springs - for my purple NA. ...just a thought if you are after cheap. Good luck Jack
  17. ...you'll enjoy changing the altenator! Good luck Jack
  18. As yours is UK, you should find that the extra (over and above the wires of your existing switch) wires that come out of the switch I've sent, will be for the heated seats - you might just be able to figure it all out. Good luck Jack
  19. In replying to his post I was being polite as I live in the South East and assumed we had a new member that I might bump into one day. The topic and it's position in the forum was novel, but I had that down to inexperience. ...turned out to be me that was inexperienced. Cheerz Jack
  20. Got the switch and the connectors - there are 12 wires in total coming from the back. When I tried to use it none of the wire colours matched the loom that was in my (Jap) car so I gave up. Also, the switch does both heated seats and has the mirror adjustment on it too, but what it doesn't have (as it came from a UK spec car) is the switch to fold in the electric mirrors that come as standard on a Jap spec car. I'll put it in the post. Good luck Jack

Check your tie rod ends as well. If they are shot then you'll think that your brakes are judderring co warped disks. You then replace the disks and you still have the jubber. NA brakes are fine if you fit soft pads try EBC green stuff. I do believe that after 91 the NA brakes were replaced by TT brakes ie 30mm wide disks and steel calipers. Warp disks tend to come from Auto cars so if you buy 2nd hand NA disks, make sure the donor car was a manual. Good luck Jack
  22. if you can, clean off all of the old oil then you can see exactly where it's comming from. It mignt not be oil. It could be power steering fluid. The pipe beloe the power steering canister is known to deteriate over the years and leak onto the altenator and knacker it. You need to clean it up and find out where it's coming from - do it now before you take it to the garage so that it's got time to leak again. If you do this then you'll save the garage a job and some time. Good luck Jack ...if you are peranoid about temperature, open the bonnet when you stop.
  23. You need to consider the rear gearbox mount too. This sags with age and so the prop isn't in a straight line between the gearbox and the rear diff - which when rotating works the centre bearing too much. People change the centre bearing (me included) when really it's the gearbox mount. Gearbox mount about £55, prop centre bearing about £140. Rear mount is easy, centre bearing is great fun. Good luck Jack
  24. You can have the stuff free (assuming I've still got it) - just let me have your address and I'll get it in the post. Re the wires, use the blacks as the feed wires and the coloureds as the earth wires. As I sad before, I fastened 2 switches left of the clock and wired the seats to these and wired these to the cigarete lighter (it's a heavy feed). I think that the seats have thermostats in them as they never got too hot - it wasn't as though you were switching them on and off all of the time. Good luck Jack
  25. Karl ...I've a 95na in silver for sale in Ipswich. All clean etc etc £3500 - if you want a look, just let me know. Cheerz Jack
