  1. Thanks! I'm hoping to be able to make the AGM
  2. Mine went to Jimmer yesterday for the manual conversion so won't be able to join on stand but i am hoping to attend anyway. Will be good to see everyone
  3. I would love to have come, with it being so 'local' but I'm heading to Jim's for a manual conversion early September along with some other bits so I'm not sure it will be done by then
  4. O finally managed to take the car out for its first (with me) spirited drive last weekend around the Surrey Hills and down to the coast. Ironic that it took so long considering how long I had to wait to pick it up but...life. Reminding myself this one is for the long game! I'm very glad to report that no serious issues arose which was still a concern for me considering how little I know about the car. The brakes don't seem overly happy when hot with quite a bit of squealing and what I convinced myself was some binding towards the end of the day. Once cool though, all symptoms disappeared so something to look into. Otherwise the car was sublime to drive and I really enjoyed the day. I had set out around 6.30am and didn't get back home til about 3pm so a solid day of driving! I managed to take some pretty photos so have posted a few below. I'm hoping to take the car to Jimmer at the start of September for its manual conversion and a full service. Depending on how long Jimmer will need to keep it and on the weather late Sep / early Oct, I'm hoping I can get out on another drive to enjoy the new manual box before tucking the car away for the cold and wet months..
  5. I plan for upgrade brakes so it's likely a space saver won't fit over them anyway. Joel - did you look into whether a sub would fit in the spare well? Seems a shame to not use the void though your solution does give me something to think about!
  6. For those of you who don't carry your spare wheel anymore, what have you done with your wheel well? Mine is empty and looking for ideas.
  7. Fortunately my new Z seems to be in good condition in respect of rust and I'd like to try and keep it that way. I had dinitrol applied to my previous Z and though it may be good at rust protection it's terribly messy stuff, especially for any future work on the car. My socials must be listening into my thoughts again as I'm getting spammed with ads for a 'new' product called Lanoguard. There seems to be a huge amount of positive support for the product on the social platforms, they have decent videos on YT and their site looks professional enough. It's supposedly very simple to apply, must be done at least annually and requires no masking off. It seems a bit too good to be true! Has anyone here had any experience with it? Would you recommend it? https://www.facebook.com/lanoguard/ https://www.lanoguard.co.uk/ https://www.youtube.com/c/Lanoguard A non-affiliated review:
  8. 2 Oct looks good for me at the moment!
  9. Thanks everyone for your wishes! Was the big 4-0 so not only have I moved up into the senior age bracket of 40-65 but buying my 2nd Zed is now being referred to as my mid-life crisis purchase within my family ?
  10. This was listed in the UK on ebay a little while ago... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nissan-300zx-Cabriolet-/195143856648?mkpid=0&emsid=e11021.m43.l3160&mkcid=7&ch=osgood&euid=fcc582f38ae0486c9ab7f6a8d3e074be&bu=43178270736&ut=RU&osub=-1~1&crd=20220617055627&segname=11021&nma=true&si=wsm9%2B4qHU1UiX%2BpmxK9RqmshmA4%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  11. Lovely looking examples but we're lacking some details on these posts! For this thread to be useful could we make sure to include details as Joel's original post suggests? And better still, some video / audio clips of them in action?
  12. Balance Bar - LWB TT RHD View Advert Looking for a TT LWB balance bar if anyone has one? I had placed an order with Z1 but turns out they don't have any in stock. Needed for a manual conversion. Thanks! Advertiser sumshiftyguy Date 06/07/22 Price Category Parts - Wanted
  13. Thanks Joel! What would also help is people added videos so we could hear the exhaust! Idle and drive by perhaps (if you have them!)
  14. All done! And now I see the valuations link ?
  15. That makes sense - wouldn't I have got a renewal invite though? I'll go sub again now. Cheers
  16. I am a subbed member already. Is there a post detailing what info is required? or should I just send a kick off email?
  17. Where did you send details? I need to do this also and couldn't find it. Only this one but the link isn't showing up for me...
  18. I guess my main struggle is knowing what different sounds can be had from our engines. I expect it would be pretty pointless if i wanted into Infinity and told them to make my car sound like an v8 AMG ?
  19. We should really start a thread for exhaust pics and vids so that we can see what's out there for our cars. I will want to do something to mine but clueless as to which way to go
  20. No worries at all. I'm no expert but just speaking from my own experience. And to clear any confusion, I didn't go for the remove bumper service as the guys I used didn't even offer it. A little out of my budget bracket! The first guys I used was Dub Customs out in Essex. From what I see on social media, they have come a long way so I expect they do a very tidy job nowadays. The second guy I used was Andrew @ Bellissimoto in Borough. He has an absolutely gorgeous setup and works on some stunning cars. He's also on socials (IG mainly). I live about 2mins away from Andrew so yes, relatively local to you! Would be great to meet up once the weather and schedule improve!
  21. As long as you go with a reputable company, you won't have any issues. I had my F-Type PPF'd twice (long story) but the first company used supplier provided templates and you could tell as the edges were quite visible in places. The second company custom cut some panels and it was impossible to tell it had been covered. Also the ones worth your time will remove bumpers and lights etc to get the wrap around the edges and out of sight. Obviously this is the platinum service and you should expect to pay as such. Also worth noting that before they PPF, they will likely detail the car (additional cost to you) as they would not warranty the PPF work otherwise. I went with the standard detail + ceramic coat + suntech PPF and the car looked like a mirror (it was black).
