Painting calipers
Apparently this is the 4th coat. So far it looks good I'm told but this 4th coat might be one too many. Was hoping to have them fitted this weekend but giving it another week to see if they dry. Tempting to stick them in the over but not sure if it's best for the calipers.....if anyone knows, please do share your wisdom!!

Anyone ever 'baked' their calipers? Any ill effects? Few too many coats of paint and it's not drying so was thinking to maybe bake them....temp/duration suggestions?

Changing locks and ignition
Does anyone have (or able to point me to) a writeup of how to change the door locks and the ignition?? Got my replacement parts after my keys were stolen and want to get the locks changed over this weekend but can't find anything.... Cheers

Thieving c*nting b*st*rds!
Thanks dude...and Funky too! The keys were under a pile of clothes (I'm a little messy lol) but on a shelf....under a biiig pile of clothes as hadn't driven the car in a few weeks! But even if I'd hidden them they would've found them I reckon as I got the spares from the drawers too and they were hidden!

I don't have a tailgate barrel as it was delocked by the previous owner. I'm going to get onto Jeff @ Zedworld and see if I can get some replacement locks, etc. Hopefully that'll work out and I can just take those down to the locksmith guy... **what a muppet! lol...if i got replacement locks I shouldn't need the locksmith/keycutter! lol

Thieving c*nting b*st*rds!
Excellent, thanks mate. I presume I'd have to remove the ignition barrel (either existing or new) and take it down to him then? Going to give my alarm guy a call tomorrow and see what can be done re changing the codes too. Hopefully it won't be too much effort....:crying:

Thanks for the comments guys...still seething tbh! Topless - that would be awesome mate. Do you have any contact details? Car.Mad - Annoying as I had two sets of the titanium keys to start with and they've taken both! Not sure how it works with the keys tbh....can I even get a replacement titanium key that will fit any new locks/ignition?? no idea how keys work...lol

Changing locks and ignition
Hmm...do you know if I can just get an auto lock specialist to change them over or if it's better to source parts direct from nissan, etc?? Car's in the garage and they don't know which garage it is so that's some comfort. Plus I've got the only key. Otherwise not much else I can do. Pulled the fuel pump fuse so they won't be driving anywhere. My alarm system has an immobiliser which I can activate by texting it from my mobile so will just do that I guess....no way they can get around that...not even with the alarm fob.

Changing locks and ignition
Hi guys...as you may have seen on my other thread my flat was burgled last night. Luckily they didn't get the car but they did get both sets of my original titanium keys and alarm fobs! My question is....does anyone know if there's any restrictions in terms of getting my locks changed?? I have absolutely no idea about the locks and ignition and not sure how easy it would be to change and get some replacement titaniums keys??? Any advice at all would be most welcome! Just so busy trying to sort my life out after all this....:mad2:

Thieving c*nting b*st*rds!
Went out straight after work last night with my flatmates to watch the England match and ended up having a pretty large night. Got back to the flat around 3am to find it's been robbed!! All the stuff is everywhere. Whole place was upside down. They didn't take the bigger items - tv, playstation, xbox, etx - but they did take laptops, cameras, ipods.....AND MY CAR KEYS!! Both sets too as they'd dug through all my drawers! Luckily the car is garaged and I had the garage key on my but if not I reckon the car definitely would have been knicked too!! Thing is I now have to get the locks changed including ignition, etc....such a ball ache! Plus there's the risk of them coming back and trying to take it so have pulled a few fuses but still a little worried. Worked out I've lost about £3k of stuff and the kicker.......I didn't have any insurance in place! My own fault....first thing I'm going to look into though now!

Brake fluid
Thanks guys. Went with the oilman on this one in end. Pretty fair prices tbh. Thanks for the headsup legrath and good idea madmax but I have no idea what colour I have in there at the moment! Surely it would have darkened over time anyways??

Rear fog light mod/ reverse light
lol...it may well be! I can't do either!! Does it need glueing then?? :stupid:

Rear fog light mod/ reverse light
I'm a little confused...does fitting require any solder work? Spotted the solder gun in Jaikai's pic and made me wonder....

Brake fluid
I'm hoping to change all brakes on the zed frmo stock to R33 GTR calipers and discs this weekend with braided brakelines. Obviously will run through a flush of the oil as well and have been reading on here that dot 5.1 is probably the best candidate for replacing the old stuff. My question is....what's the difference between all the different brands? Is there any?? Had a quick squizz on ebay and there seems to be a fair bit of difference! Admittedly I forgot about the brake fluid so need to get my hands on stuff fairly swiftly as hoping to do the work on Sat... ...any links/advice/tips would be much appreciated!! Thanks all...

Rainwater causing me problems
I've had this before and it always turned out to be the MAF...under the nose panel connected to the air intake. A few 100mm bolt (IIRC) and you can unplug and replace...

Maybe I'm just a fatty! lol...and that's on stock boost (12psi)...I believe I should be good for 21psi...not tried it yet as suspect EBC...but that's way down the list of things to fix at the moment!

Brembo stencil
hmm...I know what you all mean but I don't care! :tt2: I've wanted red calipers for aaages and even my stocks are red. I think red brembos will look nice and I want to eventually make everything black/red on the car and as said above...black calipers will get lost...especially with black/grey alloys...

Zed peformance figures 0-60 ad 0-100
Possibly...I just searched on here and came up with a figure of 1470kg. With the 1600kg figure the stats are: Power to Weight: 257 bhp/ton 0-60: 4.7 0-100: 10.3 60-100: 5.6 1/4 Mile ET: 12.74

Zed peformance figures 0-60 ad 0-100
I just stuck my figs into that site and it seems on stock boost (with 404 fwph) my 0-60 should be around the 4.4sec mark...not too sure about that! lol...it's certainly fast but I don't think THAT fast...though I've got no evidence to suggest either way... 0-100mph - 9.5secs... 60-100 - 5.1secs 1/4 mile - 12.44secs
