Some of us think the only way to go is TT! Some think the fastest is Red but the Z looks good in all colours! Some of us love our Taga's! All of us love our Z's!

Olly I dont know but they look wicked!!
  7. Hi Mat Second hand tt engine 1k-2k depends on amount of milage its done. Are you doing this at home or asking a garage? The reason for asking is cost! You could be faced with a 3k-4k bill. Thats engine+ labour. You could buy another Z for that! There are several options for you to think about, A: Find a part on the webb. B: E+Mart mag recon engine half or full. C: Rebuild engine. D: Torque IC Ashford 01233-637333 spk to Justin. There are more options but it depends on cost in the end. I was faced with this 2 months ago. Good hunting Arthur
  8. have you tried http://WWW.300zx.org.uk?
  9. I very much doubt the shells you fitted were faulty Mat. Why did you change them? I ask because I could have replaced my shells & hope for a quick fix. But if the problem is say oil pump you are still heading for disaster! I know you can change the shells without taking the engine out & the cost is a few hundred pounds. To take the engine out you are looking at a considerable cost!! LOL Arthur
  10. Thanks for all the help & advice. Poly bushes on car & had to take it for a spin up the M20! No brake judders!!! FANTASTIC RIDE!! Oh how sad is that! But at the moment Im :) & with my Z! (at the moment!) Arthur
  11. Sorry to hear about your Z Mat. Had to replace my engine last month due to a big end failure! Not that I am a mechanic but if the chaps on the forum are to assist you they might need to know more details like, is it still running, is the knocking sound worse on power or there all the time, is it on tick over ect. I know its not easy but I think thats the thing they will want to know lol! Dont run engine and cause more problems though! Arthur.
  12. Thanx for the info. I am fitting tension rods back on Z tomorrow, new poly bushes fitted! I have got castrol grease, is this ok for them?
  13. I did ask this Q before! Will someone tell me the best way to wire this up as my W/loom appears not to have a connection for a centre brake light. Do I crimp onto my rear brake lights & place an in line fuse on the live side if so what size fuse 15amp?
  14. Ah got the feeling that I could be being watched! Poly bushes arrive. Two bushes, two small sachet's of white stuff! Direct from Z centre great! Got press, great! Get old bushes out great! New poly bushes how the f**k do they go in there! Ah! Slap this white stuff around the edge of the bush (thicker than treacle) to be pressed into tension rod & press in! There are no instructions in the box! why not? Now, I am putting them back on the car Saturday, my question is what grease do I use on the tension rod bolt?? The guy charged me £10 to press out old bushes & press in new ones, thought that was good & gave him £20!! Then tells me he owns a taxi company!!! Arthur
  15. My Z creeks when I reverse out on the road, could be the targas could be the whole car being excited at going out onto the road!!
  16. I have Continentals on mine, they are okay. Problem I believe soft tyre good grip- low milage! Hard tyre more miles not too much grip! Higher milage? Do we have a so called specialist on this? Or is this just trial & error!! Arthur
  17. I was lead to believe 225 front & rearfor N/A & 225 front & 245 rear for TTs?
  18. Hi Fas I ordered before 3pm & the bushes were with me before 12 noon next day from the Z centre, they cost £42 set + pp. Alot of them have fitted these. Why not phone Jeff@ Zworld hes the specialist. My poly bushes get pressed in tonight for fitting on Saturday. Arthur
  19. Hi Fas, I am in the process of fitting poly bushes from Z center as loads of guys from this site seem to have fitted them! If there good enough for them its good enough for me! Arthur
  20. Another day another Q! OK I got the Tension rods off & at night! There are only two nuts to undo then the nut & bolt of the bush. I managed to get the bolt out because I strained the Tension bush or angled it to enable me to remove the bolt. There are metal pipes on each side of the nut & bolt! My question is with the new poly bushes fitted I am not going to have the same amount of play to get the tension bolts back in! In the Manual it looks like you have masses of space, well thats crap! cos its was very tight getting the bolt out & imho its going to be even tighter getting the bolt back in! Or am I just making a fuss over nothing & its all going to fit back real easy (not!) Any thoughts from you who have done this please. Arthur
  21. OK! leave car where it is. Will move it when back together. thankx Arthur
  22. Hi zxc! Trouble with Zs is the work needing doing is very labour intensive! There aint no room, the engine massive, engine bay small! Head gaskets do not tend to cause big problems like a big end going causing metal to be cast to every corner of the workings! Put another message up askin for help, get a quote on how much it is going to cost. what u can do & what u cannot! Then take it from there! lol Arthur
  23. 8pm Tuesday night! Tension bars off Z. Poly bushes pressed in tomorrow. Z in drive, can I drive Z 40ft into garage slowly! very slow? With tenson rods off, or do I leave Z in drive?
