  6. Hi How much do you pay for full synth oil? Only ask because I paid £27 for 5 litres at partco. Two other shops wanted £33. Arthur
  7. Hi As Robtor said could be air in system. Changing pads will not cure air in system if u had this problem before with your old pads. Old brake fluid I think loses its property. New brake fluid after a two or three years needs changing too. I think first, apart from leaks would be to bleed the system, could be wrong though! but thats what I would do. Arthur, I aint no mechanic.
  8. Hi Dafty Great idea! I did 23,000 miles in my Z first year!!:) Cost me 10x more in petrol then my micra! Siraff, I think I will give this a go. I will put the engine mount back in place so it holds the engine firm, then place a rubber hammer under the jack & a wedge bar in fly wheel. If that aint good enough I will get some rad weld!! Arthur
  9. Hi all! I need help & advice. I have my micra in garage,1200cc auto. cam cover off, engine in car, I need to get the fly wheel off so I can change the water pump. How do I stop the fly wheel turning whilst try to undo fly wheel nut which is at 9.2 kg torque! Do I need a special tool I have tried to put a jack under fly wheel to hold it with no luck! I cannot put it in gear like a manwell! Please help this is my daily runabout and with it off road it does mean I get to drive my Z more:) Arthur
  10. Hi Richard Do the headlight washers only work when lights are on? Did you find the extra water tank? Ive had my Z for over two years & I have never checked them! Arthur

Hi why can't you just place the name on the forum? You do not have to say any derogatory things about them! I have been in this position; the advice given to me; Send your letter (which must be registered) to them with your problem & cost of repairs, give them a set time (2 weeks) & if they do not reply in this time, state they leave you no alternative other than to take a court order out on them. In your letter explain you wish to settle out of court if at all possible & depending how much you are taking them to court for (say £1000) say that you are willing to settle for £800. If it then go'es to court you have shown, persever'ance, patience, willingness, ect, ect, which only reflects you in good light. I believe there is a max in a small claims court, & a court order is about £40. This might not be everything but it may help a little. Good luck Arthur
  12. Hi all Even more:D Jezz, I am in the process of replacing my Micra cylider head. The bolts on the exhuast side of cylinder head looked bad! Out of the 5 I managed to salvaged 2 so I had to buy 3. Nissan did skim the head for me at £30, which was the same price quote as an engine firm who are 15 miles away. For the past 2 weeks I have used my Z for daily driving as my Micra is off the road. My skill is not with motor mechanics & the last time I did an engine de-coke was on a MG ZB Magnette! Arthur

  20. Hi Now my Z is a TT auto UK. I use 95 unleaded, why? because I thought that was the recommended fuel. It says this on my petrol cap. Is this wrong?
  21. Hi, thanks for ideas So I checked the battery tray and tubo pipe, all sound glad to say:) Had to go out lunch time pulled up on drive & same thing! Got big light under bonnet to look & left engine running, problem found! Bottom matrix hose connection not tight enough & as pressure builds up, water spraying like fine mist around back of engine & onto exhuast. My DIY! :slap: Arthur
