  2. Hi Simon Sorry to hear about your Z m8t. I am sure you can get most if not all! of the components you want to fix it! Suppose it depends on any damage to the stucture of the car. Of course you will get some saying get it back as an insurance write off, buy a new Z and sell the bits off your broken car! make some cash in the process. Are cars are worth more in bits!!! I would say Andy is the first call, when you know what bits you want. All the best in the New Year Arthur
  3. Hi again! With all the diagrams, pictures & my old engine, I think & the mechancs agree, that the pipe involved is indeed the turbo feed pipe at the back of the engine & bulkhead as AndyDuff said! So I have told the mechs they can get to it if they remove the battery. God knows what Nissan told them!! My only other question is, the rubber pipe to be changed is held in place by these self sprung clips! How the f--k do you compress and hold them open? then release them! Is this the use of those foot long 90 degree sort of pliers mentioned before? Water, Water everywhere!(not that bad, yet!) Arthur

Hi Ice Me again! I had a petrol leak once. Only stong smell of petrol first 5/10 mins then would go away. Took it to garage they kept it running for 20 mins, found nothing! This went on for three weeks! Then one time I started up the Z opened up the bonnet & looked at the pipes at the rear of the engine & found one of the rear pipes leaking, well not the pipe exact but the clip of the pipe. Only a drip, the fuel pipes run along the back but you need to look at all the clips & all the fuel pipes when you start up & look very carfully for that drip! Hope that helps Arthur
  7. Hi ICE Do a search on PIAA bulbs + clean inside of your lenses. PIAA is one of the good options in my opinion. Good luck Arhur
  8. Hi all! Know where you going Mac1 but these two hoses are easy to see if they are leaking. Changed my own in an hour! But some pipes are just the pits to get too! Im still looking for my water leak somewhere around the back LHS turbo! Vijay sent me some pics too. Look at my thread on the forum. Happy looking!!! Arthur
  9. Hi all! My local mechanics have located the problem to the metal turbo water pipe! They fone nissan for some help reguarding pipe ect! Nissans reply to them is- the car new cost £40k & the engine is complicated Dont touch it! FFS! So if it is the metal water pipe into the turbo, they have put it on compression & it does leaks! 1 What connection has it got? A compression joint connection? 2 how long is this pipe & where the f--k does it go from the turbo? To where? If it is a PITA that is not a problem. My mechanics will sort it, on my go ahead. They are concerned of messing my car up! Arthur
  10. Jason, Do like our Trust IT departments done and put the answer phone on! Arthur:dance:
  11. Hi Mate Ive had my Z for two & half years Fuel: went to blue water from Folkestone 100mile return trip in 100 minutes! Dont count cost! Need for speed. Insurance: at 21! you need to shop around. Cost: can be kept down, some work can be diy, alot of parts can be got cheaper than nissan prices. Having said that! Tyres cost £100+ each. I thought I got a good one, did 23000 miles first year which to some who own a Z is about 4 years of motoring! Since then I have had, new rad, replaced engine, recon auto gearbox, three sets of tyres and a list of other bits! My opinion is they are expensive to run drive & maintain! Having said that! I do smile everytime I take it out :) Good luck Arthur
  12. Me staying in hospital till 4.30 No more shopping. Got to do more drinking later. Taking Z to Derbyshire tomorrow:dance: All of you have great XMAS & 2004 Arthur
  13. Hi Thanx for the info. It is definately coolant. The reason I asked about the pipes was that, when the engine gets warm then the steam stops! Like the heat would expand metal. If it was a rubber pipe I was thinking it would continue to leak or is that rubbish? Arthur
  14. Oh forgot to ask doh! Is the pipe a metal one or rubber Arthurl
  15. Hi Can it be that much better than Autoglym? It seems alot of the forum Zs get the Autoglym treatment. Arthur
  16. Hi all I need some help! Looking at the engine with bonnet up. I have steam rising from down by the right side turbo! This means a water leak! It only happens from cold after the engine is warm (5 mins) then only for about a minute then stops! I am not losing lots of water. But to get to the water pipes! Is this an engine out job! Merry xmas to all, leak or not my Z is going out on xmas day! Arthur
  17. Hi Maybe the rear brakes might just need a clean. If the pads look ok maybe just take off the pads/shims and clean then apply copper grease to the shims and put back on. Pads can be got from PartCo or Q/H I think B19ks works for them & can get discount. Shim kit I got from Nissan & cost me £40! Pads from Part Co cost me £27. Dont know about tyres as my own are Continentals. Hope this helps Arthur
  18. Hi Marigold gloves! For extra grip!! Arthur
  19. Hi My Z - UK TT 91 Just looked at tyres, rears worn more than front, ok My tyres on front are 225/50 16 rear 245/45 16 see the F1 tyres for sale are 17s so no good for me?:(
  20. Hi you mentioning valves I got those alloy valve covers that rotate & need a tool to remove them. Trouble is if they try to get the valves off & fail!! Will the ba***rds slash my tyres! Arthur
