  1. Andy I have owned Audi & VW passat 17 years. I would say VW estate is a good solid German workhorse & easy to work on with spares available. Just my two penny worth! Arthur
  2. Hi Jon See if I can get the ball rolling for you! You could do a search for uk/jap spec or go to http://www.300zx.org.uk. The V6 I think is a reliable engine, easy to upgrade, thats why the guys like um! All UK Z's are TT, Jap ones TT or N/A. UK Z's have larger rear wheels than front. Japs come with generally higher specs. I think all Z's have targa's. There is a SW model too. If u buy an N/A, no I wont go that way! (TT or N/A) Have u driven one? Arthur
  3. Now that depends on you! Is it a big upgrade job or a normal replacement job! I replaced the whole lot! Got a replacement TT engine from a firm in Hythe Kent who deal in Jap engines. You could do a half engine replacement. If you are doing alot of the work yourself your cost could be halved. Arthur
  4. Yep the badge has two pins at the back. The idea was to replace the front Nissan badge to a Z badged front. I like the Z on the front. With my Z being a uk model it has the nissan logo on the front.
  5. Ok then! Badge is off! The stuff they use is like rubber glue! The primer as most said is white. Great! I will take the RED primer back to Halfords Got my wet & dry sorted, will start soon. Arthur
  6. Hi Scotty Is this a poblem with the engine running & car still? If so it could be your bonnet catch! That's what my squeak was! Sorry if not that. Arthur
  7. Hi Jay I think you put a Q on Stubb's thread, about splashguards? Yes, they shield the engine & rad underneath, also there are thee parts, drivers/passenger splash guards to. With the Z so low they do get scratched alot! Arthur
  8. I have PIAA's, fitted them last year definatley brighter! Arthur
  9. Sorry to see you have an engine problem! I spun a shell last year! U can drop the sump & ave a look. Thats what they did on my Z. I'm no mechanic! There are different ways as you possibly know, of fixing or replacing bits. Half engines are cheap too. Arthur
  10. SUNDAY  So got Z out ;) Went for a drive :D Up the a A20 to Leeds Castle & down the M20 :D :D Back now Z away in garage :( Arthur
  11. Ryan, as you knowI am about to do my matrix, and the front bit with Z thingy on and paint it red from black! and waiting for rear spoiler to arrive this Tuesday. house carpets arriving Sat morning at 9am! think I will leave seat belts for time being!!!! lol lol!
  12. Thanx all, for the tips feel I can get going on this now. James, cheers for that give me address 4 p&p. Its Fri & I am off home! Arthur
  13. Hi James did you get my address about the matrix? Thanx for the info on the badge (I like the Z better than NISSAN!) I have seen these metal pins at the back. Will get started with WD40 and scraper. Nigel I like black too! :D
  14. I dont think they would stop you getting a whiplash injury, be it the inertia type or harness type. Just a thought. Arthur
  15. I have just purchased a Black front bit, that front bit between the headlights. The bit with NISSAN or Z on it! My Z is RED doh! Want to a) spray it red, what undercoat colour do I use? b)how do you get the Z badge off the front bit, without braking anything! Arthur
  16. So, this must be a subjective diagnostic ? Arthur
  17. Never heard of this! Is it in the hand book? Arthur
  18. Hi Craig I think you are discribing the passenger side splash guard. It also has an air vent in it to direct air to the brakes. The Z is low & all the splash guards are vulnerable to damage. Arthur
  19. Auto's ROCK !! Arthur
  20. Cheers Ryan Arthur
  21. Is this all metal or a combination of plastic & metal? Makes a difference to the cost! Arthur
  22. Hi Mac1, Thats impressive! I have seen your Z engine before  . I thought it must be a special chromed one! Infact I have a full engine in my garden, maybe get afew more bits to polish up! :D Thanx Ryan & JD Arthur
  23. Is this the intake manifold bit? or Is it the big aluminuim thingy on the top! of the engine? is this the same bit? Do they polish up? Cos Ive got a spare one of these thingys & if it polishes up it would look nice! Arthur
  24. I had an Austin A35 years & years ago! One day I was washing this A35 (cost £50) when a person called Al-Fayed came passed, stopped next to me to bid me a good day, then drove off for the weekend. He was in a massive white American Continental or Cadilac, chauffeur driven of course. His Farrari Dino had been driven back to London the week before! And yes his father at that time did OWN several banks!
