Thanks all for help & advice so far! Got Z back home! Garage report; check compression all cylinders between 125-130 psi Check ignition coils; all ok Check wiring to coils & injectors; all ok Suspect No2 injector to be faulty as cylinder is dry. Terry has offered to sort it!

Hi all, I have contacted Terry. Thanks for the contact number. SVA Imports have had my Z since last Tuesday!! I have had to phone them three times to get any info. My problem appears to be No2 cylinder with an injector fault! I am collecting my Z tomorrow still not fixed but have a possible cause. If this be the case, & is a faulty injector? Do I get them all done? Replace No2? Is this a plenum off job which I'm hoping Terry will talk me through.

Down to personal choice, like most & I like mine! But I would say that

Phoned the garage today about my Z! I requested them to fix what I thought a missfire & compression test cylinders. Compression test done & all cylinders are good. All coil packs are good but engine still same & it's no 2 cylinder? They say it could be an injector, electrical? Or ECU. Can an injector just fail as my engine was running fine 2 hours before? They do tuning & r Nissan importers (skylines & Evos) but they don't have consult diagnostic! Any ideas guys

Don't think its the outside! It's the inside part of the headlight! Going through the headlight bulb opening. If u search I think Garry put up some photos.

No sir, dont know how to do! Sorry Jaffa Im a clinician not a mechanic! But better start somewhere. I know it has been running rich as exhausts are black! The coilpacks are they individual held in place by looks like 10mm bolt? Im thinking theres six! right?

I Know its difficult to diagnose a ruff engine when you cant see it or hear it! Last week for no reason car started but was running ruff on idle. Set off engine seems to vibrate but goes & less vibration when foot off the gas. Took it for a run Sunday starts no problem still running ruff no missfires. bangs or rattles. Put foot down, no kick down just a steady pick up of speed, like running on 5/4 cylinders? Back home no smoke from exhausts just the same running unsteady, no just ruff!! at a 1000RPM no rise or fall. No cooling problems no wiffs or puffs of smoke, oil pressure water temp all ok? Why all of a sudden? not change or tampered with anything, not wet, MAF cleaned air fillters clean. All connecters clean! My discription might be useless & sorry if it is but any ideas as to the cause? this appears alot of nothing looking at it now!

What sound advice from all!!! At 18 I was driving a Morris Minor with girlfriend ended up in a field, the opposite side, facing the wrong direction!!! Good thing about that? No oncoming traffic, no ditch, no lamp posts, no curbs, no road signs, no trees or hedgerows! BUT thats 40 odd years ago! That aint going to happen today in 2014 as our roads are very much diferent now! Every day I encounter bad drivers with bad driving habbits & I dont drive that far, drove my Z to the surgery (6 miles) & back. Not daily though. I would go for MX5 great fun car too. Good luck whatever you decide to do.

Why you complicate things? Is it to change the odometer settings? I'm no mechanic I just did what this forum said & I had no problems:) KMP to MPH with a converter

Phoned my insurance company the other day to change Reg No. They charged me £40!:censored: How can companies charge such a ridiculous amount for a type change? :confused1: Rant over

I am very impressed with you all for your invesigative skills & ur time & effort with helping. Just a thought & might be Bxlxox but if a car is insurance right off cant u buy it back? Also is it then a class C or D cat? Hope ur chassis is good. Good luck with it all. Art213

Hi Lee, I have Jap import & converted KPH to MPH U need a converter & Jef TT explains how 16 April 2014, Here's mine! This changes your readings to mph & stops the bling! Just photo the reading & I got mine on MOT same time. Hope this helps Art
