I had the same idea Dave, i bought high temp aluminium and red paint for the calipers but wanted to know if after a few weeks/months would they still be ok. I think the Foliatec paint would be better as Chris says the finish is like enamel so should stand up to stone chips. But then thats what the hammerite is supposed to do. Don't know what to do now lol. :mac1:

Hi, i never got them from the Zcentre i bought them of ebay but they don't have light. Didn't pay that much for them so still a bargain without the lights.

There is a gold kit on ebay just now, it was onlt about £10 the last time i looked.

I reckon the blue would go well with your car or black if you want to keep it subtle.

Its not as much as i first thought. I found a place that sells the kit for £21. It comes in a variety of colours. Will the one paint kit be enough for all 4 calipers though? I don't mind paying the extra if like you say its easy maintenance. Thanks Chris.

Do they have a dimmer switch? I had a problem with mine and it turned out to be the dimmer switch was broken at the small PCB. I just cut the wires and joined them together. Try shorting it with a spare piece of wire before you cut them though if they light up then you know what the problem is.

How will that worh with the cast calipers though, is it just a case of giving them a coat of laquer to stop it oxidising?

I quite like that idea, was wondering how to do the Nissan logo. Was thinking about hand painting it but i have the shakes something terrible lol. Although having the cast calipers it wouldn't be long before they corrode.

I see what you mean by its not cheap. Will probably go down the Hamerite route as its easy to get. Whats best though the brush on or aerosol?

I have just bought a Strosek front and rear bumper. Can anyone tell me where i can get the lights for the front bumper? I have looked on the Zcentre website as they sell the bumpers but don't seem to be able to find the lights. Thanks in advance. :D

Whats the best way to prep and paint the brake calipers? The calipers i have are the cast ones (not ally), is it just a case of cleaning them up and painting. Also whats the best type of paint to use? I've seen specific caliper paint, high temp paint and also heard of a few people using hammerite. Any help and preferences are much appreciated :hyper: .

Thanks for the info buddy much appreciated. Just remembered the pistons aren't seized as i could push them in and when i pressed the pedal they would only come back out to their origional position but go no further.

Have just been doing the brakes on the Z as i was getting a clicking/creaking noise coming from both front brakes when pressed. I noticed that only the pistons from the inside are pushing when the brake is applied causing the caliper to twist putting stress on the bracket and this is where the creaking is coming from. Does this mean the calipers are fecked or maybe just needing bled or is it just a case of stripping them down and re-building?. I know there not the best calipers as they are the early ally ones. Thanks in advance. :D

I used to use SONIC its quite straight forward from what i can remember you just click on the source you want to tranfer the files from (camcorder) it then extracts the video from the camcorder and stores it on the HD then prompts you to burn to DVD/CD. This is for a digital camcorder though not sure about others.
