It used to be that not all Cat C vehicles needed a VIC but as of April 2005 all Cat C must undergo the MOT & VIC test before the V5 is sent out but as he already owned the car he has the logbook so it might not have had the VIC test and this is why he has been able to put it back on the road and tax it. This could be the reason for the increase to insurance, any salvage cars i have bought i called the DVLA and thay will tell you if the car requires a VIC.

Went to see the Falkirk wheel today. Very impressive and so was the weather, the kids were not interested but enjoyed the play area. If anyone is thinking of going i'd suggest taking a picnic as the snacks are expensive.

Thats exactly what i thought, i'm looking for wheels and didn't even notice how crap the car looked until i read the guys comments.
