Engine replacement
What do you mean? Take off the old engine to keep as spares or take off the new engine as its not needed. Like plenum bypass?

Engine out
I took my engine and gearbox out today in 1.5 hours, lifted both out together, would have done it quicker but forgot to disconnect the gear selector linkage couldn't understand why the car was lifting every time i got so far lol. Also i wasn't being careful as i'm breaking the car, before i relised about the linkage i was getting the stihl saw out to cut the front off.

Rolling road in Scotland?
The one near the airport was AVA but i've just read that they are quite hard on the cars and have blown a few engines (scooby forum) they all recommend DASTEK at Dalgety Bay.

Started my HNC today
I spent most of my HNC (Mechatronics) in the pub. Got to know a uni drop out (Paul was his name) who done all the maths stuff for me (he actually done it for the whole class). Lecturers don't care as long as they get a good pass percentile. So just chill and go to the pub. :duffer:

fookin dvla
Thats a bummer Al, if they have classed it CatC it will be on the new V5 which will affect the value of the car. The insurance might also be affected, my wifes Primera was a CatD and some w*nker side swiped her a couple of months ago, my wife was totally blameless but her insurance company went ballistic when they found out it had been a CatD previously and said they wouldn't have insured it if they had known.

I didn't know?
I never heard of them but handy to know. They have a branch not that far from me too. They have nothing on their website about jap parts, same as euro nothing on their site either. Worth giving them a call though.

I didn't know?
Just found out Euro Car Parts sell jap parts now. I had ordered parts for my BMW and they arrived with a small catalogue opened it to find Asian Special Parts even had 300ZX brake discs listed but not much else so i called them, the guy on the phone didn't know until he checked his computer and he had everything i needed for my wifes P12 Primera. :duffer:

Happy Birthday BIGSSS
Thanks guys, just noticed this. Got a letter about my Z being parked on the path outside on my birthday(previously posted) 6 points and £200 fine. I've already paid the £142 fine for no tax for this so i was in no mood to celebrate. Anyway thanks again.

earthing problem
found it if it helps. 2nd row of fuses at the gas pedal, 3rd one in, 10amp. Pulled every fuse and they all looked ok, put them all back in, same problem. Replaced every fuse with a new one, and hey presto, success. Although the fuse wasnt blown, it must have had a crack or something wrong inside, coz after a test with the meter and a test lamp, stil no current going through it ! Looks ok as well ? Still, that passed a weekend, eh ?

earthing problem
I'm pretty sure bigmincey has a similar problem a couple of months ago, might be worth a pm or check through the threads started by bigmincey. I think it turned out to be his ignition barrel but i could be wrong.

Bumper width
I've just measured the bumper i removed and its 5'10" at the top and 4'9" at the bottom. But remember this is a loose bumper and they are the flimsiest bumpers i've known so could be +/- an inch or 2
