Zeds Gone
12mpg was the one I didn't buy, this is relatively economical at 20-25mpg, so about the same as a Zed.

Zeds Gone
Just wanted something different really. Needed a van, much more interesting than a Caravelle I was looking at. Parts aren't too bad, there's a few reliable suppliers over here. Two servicing places just up the road from me, and it's not going to be my main car, bit like the Zed. It's also got a bench set in the back which electrically converts to a bed. TV, VCR, mood lighting (!), front and rear air con. There was a 5.8L V8 I was looking at, but it only got 12 mpg!

Zeds Gone
Well that's it, after 4 1/2 years of owing the most wonderful car I could ever hope for, it's gone. Sold for a pittance and definitely heartbreaking to see it drive away. Big Zed shaped hole on the driveway this morning. Told the new bloke about this place, said it was invaluable for whatever you need to know about the cars. Although I haven't been the biggest contributor over the years I certainly appreciate you all being here. So what's replaced the Zed? Well, something with a bigger engine for a start! 4.3L V6! No turbos though. Hasn't arrived yet, but it's a Jap import (from the States originally). It's a Chevy Astro Van, perfect for shoving mountain bikes in, kiddie transport (although I only have one!) and taking a leisurely tour down to Le Mans. And it's a lovely way to put 2 fingers up to people who witter on about the Global Warming shite  Piccies here, see you all again maybe...........

Best Pads????
Porterfield "fast road" I think they are called is what I have and they do not work well from cold. Nearly rear ended someone recently when I was driving in traffic, there was a noise of pads on disc, but no urgency about hauling up!

Would you swap your Zed for this?
Now it's been agreed we'd not swap our Zeds for a frog on a roller skate. How about one of these? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/122547.htm TVR engine (maybe / maybe not a good thing?), looks fantastic. Yes please anyway.

Just coming off the M5 this morning towards the roundabout by the Park and Ride. I was cycling around it at the time. Just to say , it sounded fantastic! :nana2:

Shocks, Adjustable or not??
Probably not unless you are doing track days. I've got KYB AGX on mine, and I've never turned that dial! However the cost of shipping them from the USA (from Ebay.com) was about the same as OEM, so I went adjustable. And they were red which is nice.

BT Broadband problems?
BTW - my line still disconnects 2-3 times per evening and gives me a lower speed. That's nearly 2 months on. Never did before, I'm wondering if upgrading was the right thing to do!
-
BT Broadband problems?
Pete - have you recently upgraded to the max for your line? I did and it took a week to settle down, I think the line connects you at a theoretical max, then disconnects you at a lower speed if this isn't sustainable. This was happening every few mins and was very annoying. If you haven't upgraded then just ignore me! Matt.

Bodywork? Maybe a change?
Si - from what I saw on Sunday, I'd just tidy it up. Can't think of anything you could put on that would make it look better than it does already.

SW Festival Of Motoring Pics
I was amazed that out of 7 (I think) perspex panels, 4 were broken (including mine)! Group buy anyone?

SW Festival Of Motoring Pics
 Was great to get to a meet at last and meet some thoroughly nice people! I've now made a shopping list, top of which is the 99 spec rear lights I saw on Si's car. Then some bigger wheels. Was too hot though.

Muse Tour
Got my tickets for Cardiff. Shame they're not coming to Exeter like 3 years ago, they played in a fairly small shed, - they were sooooo loud, hearing was rubbish for a couple of days afterwards and kept tasing blood! What do you think of the new album?
-
Southwest Festival of Motoring
BTW - if anyone from the south wants to meet up at Exeter or Collumpton services before that, let me know.

Southwest Festival of Motoring
OK - how about 8.20 am at Sainsburys then? Looks like we are expected to be in by 9am, so that gives us 10 mins to say howdy and then onwards.

Southwest Festival of Motoring
I guess quite a lot of us will come from different directions, so we could meet up somewhere near junction 25, there's loads of out of town superstore type places around there with big car parks. Then we can get our tickets and noisily trundle to the racecourse en masse.

How to build the worlds best paper plane
I'm trying it now - not a good thing to try with a hangover - too much concentration required! I think I'll go back to bed.
