If it's just two doors and two quarter panels we should only be looking at a couple of hours. I can't do Tuesday or Thurdays as I have boxing but May be able to do the Wednesday. I'll be getting in about 18:30. Give me a buzz tomorrow afternoon (not between 3 and 4 as I'm up the gym)
  3. Are you sure it's oil and not transmittion fluid from the Power steering ?. The location you are talking about seems to be below the power steering pump. What colour is the oil ?
  4. What can I say.... you the man !!! How about Saturday ?. Will the conZult show up the MAS if it is at fault ?. The problem is not consistant. It seems to just start hesitating and jumping a little when it feels like it. Will the conZult show this up ? What do you drink mate ?. JD, Vodka, beer, Cash ?? I have to bring something up for helping me out.
  5. Order it from Courtesy parts mate, you'll get it a lot quicker. At first I thought your mechanic was saying the HICAS light means the ignition coil had gone LOL.
  6. Sorry to hear that Iain :(. Just looking at those pictures makes me sad. Don't even want to think about your little girls face when she found out. I hope all returns to normal as soon as !.
  7. Hmm come to think of it I think it's only happened since I changed to an induction kit. Maybe I have damaged it somehow while fitting. I will aquire a working MAS and try that.
  8. Top Man !!!! Andy, When would be best for me to pop round (if that's ok with you of course :) ) ?
  9. We are in the same boat mate, I have the same problem. Changed PTU and temp sensor, oil chage, clleaned the T/B's. New plugs etc. Have you run a conZult ?
  10. What plugs did you put in mine Jeff ? Had the 60k service back in November.
  11. Right I'm really p1ssed off now. After waiting 6 weeks for my PTU and Temp sensor (with harness) to arrive from Texas. I finally got them this week and fitted them on Sunday along with a 3k oil change (3k miles not £'s). I disconnected the battery before I started and it took me about 3 hours overall (Tea breaks, lunch breaks and nosey neighbours accounted for about 2 hours of that LOL). I know that my ECU is relearning, I also ran Diag's before and after and got 55 both times. I was convinced that it was the PTU as I thought it was misfiring but now realise that it seemed to be choking or hesitating. I had a misfire yesterday from not connecting the PTU up correctly (connector loose) so it was only firing on 5. A misfire is very obvious (loud and precise - sounds like an old Yank car) and it seems my problem is not a misfire. Do you think a colZult will show up my problem ?. If so, does anyone have one that could run a diag on my car for me ?. Obviously I will travel to you. And sort you out any costs etc. My garage is trying to tell me it's the knock/Det sensor, but I'm not having it. Or can I buy one of these ?. How much where from ? Thanks
  12. Well I knows the previous owner just used super unleaded on my 300zx. I have been using optimax ever since. My car also semi misfires like a kind of stuttering at low revs. Sometimes this creeps up to the high revs too. I thought it was my PTU or temp sensor, but I have changed both of these and I'm still getting the problem. If I recall the problem started about a week after I put octane booster in my car. I may try super unleaded for my next couple of tanks and see what happens.
  13. Excellent You'll have no excuse not to attnd the meets now :p

FFS, Well lets just hope that thats the third and final issue out of the way. 1) Broken Leg 2) Psycho with hammer 3) blue car who can't park. I hope it only gets better for you mate. You gonna have all the interior done by next weekend ?

You mean you cut a hole ?? The way I did it was just got the center point and slit into sections, that way you can fold and when the handle surround goes back in place you don't get any gaps at all.

Marc, if you want a hand with the interior let me know mate. Been there and done that and believe me you've done the easy bits so far, the rear quarters and the door cards are a b1tch LOL.
  17. Wel the funny thign was she did actually do the service. All but the fuel filter, which I had to do because she was scared LOL. I was very impressed... I talked her through each stage but she pretty much did it on her own.
  18. 81.9 this morning in Romford.
  19. Berkley, put the shovel down and step away from the hole !!!
  20. not done the PTU and temp sensor yet. I had to give the BMW a full service, plugs, oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, pads and discs, and a new pipe from the PAS res. Only took me 2.5 hours which is quicker than it took me to fit a fooking light bulb in the Z :(. Will do the PTU and temp sensor along with the oil change tomorrow. Bought some of that 0/15 oil. £32.99 a shot. I hope it lasts three months LOL

  22. Flashed at you and you flashed back, but I think you also had tinted windows as I couldn't see if I knew you or not. Was it you ?.
  23. Excellent. I wish I had know about this earlier. I did search the previous threads but didn't get this link. thanks Warren. I also had to modify the 448 base a little so it fits past the clips. Did I use the right bulb ?
  24. Bored so I thought I'd tell you a little story..... I had a fun night last night. I found that my drivers headlamp bulb had given up. So I decided to go straight to halfords to get a new one. Pulled up outside and unscrewed the headlamp cap at the back, uncliped the prong and struggled like a mad man in a stright jacket trying to get it out. What knob designed the holder anyway ???. I went into Halfords and bought a torch set. Went back out and again struggled with the bulb. I'm standing there thinking this is fooking stupid !!!!. I didn't realise that there was a smaller clip hidden below :o To cut a long story short I went into Halfords and looked up the bulb in their book of knowledge :D. 448 it said, so ok, lets see, hmm only one prong. Then a little voice in my head said "the forum already told you that you can't buy the jap spec bulb, you have to modify it" So after buying a torch so I could see what I was doing I bought a 448 which didn't fit and took it home where I spent a while soldering a spade connector to the bottom of the bulb and connected it all back up. Next time someone asks me how long does it take to change a light bulb, I'm gonna smack 'em in the mouth
