Help injector problems
Andy P, Ok, I'll put this in as soon as I get in tonight. Are we sure there will be no side effects to adding it to half a tank or fuel ? Paul C, Right, I'll be giving this a shot tonight then. Other Paul, Already replaced the injector connection (thanks again Andy P for the spare part).

Help injector problems
Funny you should mention injector cleaner, because I actually bought some of this yesterday thinking that it may just be clogged. I bought the stuff you bung in the petrol tank. STP stuff it was. I've not put it in yet as I only have half a tank in there, so I'll do this tonight when I top it up. Is the STP stuff any good or would you recommend something else ?. If it is clogged then I guess I'll need a three of four tank cycles of the stuff, or do I need to do these cycles every other tank worth (if you see what I mean). When I looked at the wiring diagram it says that 58 the 12v constant live as Paul says which we checked (when you almost electrocuted yourself remember) :D . The pulse or earth wire for injector 2 is apparently port 110. Correct me if I'm wrong. This is where I looked for the info. http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/manual/manual/eccsdiag/001.gif Paul, I don't quite understand this bit: check the resistance across the injector as you say. to check the wiring, test for continuity down the earth wire at the plug & at the control unit (disconnected from the ecu), you can also check for short to earth & + in case its shorted out along its length. How do I check this ?, I have a multimeter but I'm better at 10 pin bowling than I am with one of these things ;). Where can I get a noid lamp ?.

Help injector problems
As some of you are aware, it seems that I have been running on 5 cylinders for a while now. The problem seems to be with the 2nd injector or the wiring to it. The coil, plug and connection to the coil have been checked and there are no problems there (get a big fat juicy spark). However the plug is not very wet :( . The injector has a 12v constant running to it but, I'm not sure how to test the pulse (i.e. the earth wire). I have rewired the Traction Control on Sunday but it seems that connection 110 on the ECU (which is the 2nd injector) was a nice firm connection. I will be by passing the TC tonight if I have time. Then Ican hopefully eliminate the Traction Control from being the problem. I'll also test the ECU injector wires for resistance. I have been told it should be around 15 Ohms. What's the easiest way to test the earth to the injector under the bonnet ?, as if the ECU is ok, I can then eliminate the wiring completely and change the injector. Andy P was a great help again on Saturday evening/night. Thanks again for your time Andy.

Ok guys the results are in..... :D :D Myself and Paul Gunn had a little run on the way to Andy Z's. We got up to about 130 until a celica turbo slowed us down. when it moved over we went on to about 140ish then backed off. After speaking we both agreed that my 300zx Jap manual pulled away from Paul's 300zx Jap Auto in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. But while I was in 4th and 5th my manual stopped pulling away from Pauls. The Specs... Pauls Jap spec Auto Blitz Sus Induction. Mongoose zorst Decat pipes Mine Jap spec Manual Apexi Induction Trust Zorst (still got my cat's) Oh by the way, I was also only running on 5 cylinders I later found out. :p Anyone got a 2nd hand injector they want to sell me ? :D

Bonnet Vents...yay or nay?
You can keep the sleekness, but continuing the line to the headlight panel. SE sell theses, they improve the line. Chris have you seen these, I think it would look great on your car mate.

Sorry to hear about this mate, you have taught me something though. If this ever happens to me, I'll be following the other driver all the way home. I should be getting me new rear bumper soon, which means that I will have my old Jap spec for sale. Let me know if you are interested and we can sort something out.

Hi Mate, I would go for the induction. Some ofthe favorites are Blitz SUS, Apexi or K&N. With regards to the zorsts, mongoose is a favorite as it keeps the quad pipes. Others are scorpion (also keeps quads), greddy or trust. However if you want a tailor made zorst for the same price you may want to check out powerflow are they are custom made and fitted while you wait.

I thought there was some sort of law against having the front and rear on the same switch. Can anyone clear this up ?

As undecisive as ever!
I know it's really, really expensive and would cost more than the car itself, but how about a metalic silver :D SE had a candy apple blue (yes blue) pulsar in the other week, the colour was really nice. It's like a kind of flip, I think you will like it, not sure if Peter knows of the colour. Maybe worth checking.

Should rear wheels turn when doing a 3 point turn?
Wazza did the vid that your refering to James. The rear wheels moved slightly on full lock. Personally, I never do three point turns. I just put it on full lock, back a quarter of a turn to avoid busting my steering Rack or bursting my PAS lines. Turn the traction control off and give it some wellie :D :D :D :D :D. Maybe when I get my new wheels I'll start doing three point turns, but I've promised myself that I won;t get them until I need new tyres on the back LOL.

The car won;t run too well on a damp cloth, you need to put petrol in it :D :D :D. Jap spec cars are used to 100ron OCtance level. Over here the closest we have is 98Ron Octone which is optimax. Since buying my car (Jap Spec also) I have only ever used Optimax. I keep a bottle of octane booster (can buy fron Halfords) in my boot just in case I can't find a shell station. ;) Looking forward to meeting you at the next meet Dave :)

Done the left side O2 sensor and found another problem
Well that 'ol battery tray is the original :eek: :p almost 14 years old as well :D. Ok, Ok, I'll get the hammerite out :(. yeah I know what the slight hissing sound by the bettery was now :D. Connected it up with some superglue for now but will replace the part when I go to Andy Z's next if he has one.
