Thor Dyno Results
erm.. I have mate. I have a SMW1 Engineering chip. I don't think you could push a stock chip past about 13.5 without detonation.

Thor Dyno Results
Well looking at the HP graph I have a major flat spot between 5k & 6krpm my hp drops from 340 @ 4900rpm to 335 @ 5850rpm but then shoots right up to 355 @ 6690rpm. May need a little custom mapping to improve the fuel at that level, but I'm happy with it at the moment. Once I get my bigger turbo's and 555's, I'll look into the mapping more.

Thor Dyno Results
Yeah mate all these figures are at the wheels/hubs. I did ask the guy for a guesstimate of my flywheel figure and he said that on a maual 300zxTT it will be about 20% more than hub figure which would give me 426BHP at the fly (although this is of no importance, I'm more than happy with the RW figure :D )

Rolling Road - 24th January 2004
Pete, That's excellent news. Just what we need. We've got traders that can source us the parts, and most of us can fit them ourselves, but what we are limited on is the knowledge to set them up correctly, would be great to have you onboard.

coil pack connector caps
I don't think you can buy these on their own. You will be ok without them however it will speed up the deteriation of the wiring. Coil pack connectors are not that expensive from courtesy, they only sell them in sets of 4 (pulsar ones) so find another who also needs then and buy 3 sets of 4.

I Went To RR Day At THOR Today......
Just thought about this. My SBC-iD was set to have a warning and cut off at 16.0 psi. Therefore it may not have been the tubs that run our of steam rather than the controller limiting the boost. Looking at the psi graph I got, I hit 16.0 psi on my controller (16.6 on their gauge) @3800rpm then it dropped to about 15.5psi then hit 16.6psi again at 4600rpm, then slowly dropped to 14.7psi by 6800rpm. Would have be interesting to do another run without the limiter on to see when the fuel starts getting lean and when the tub's run out of puff.

Thor Dyno Results
Anyone want to post up their results from Thor, I'll make an excel spread sheet like Ryan did for the SE RR. I think the only thing that will be different between auto's and manuals is the ft/lb torque as I think the auto's were tested in 2nd and the manuals in 4th. Here's mine 368.9 ft/lb Torque @ 72mph @ 3910rpm 355.2 HP @ 124mph @ 6692rpm Mods Apexi induction Pipecraft straight though 2.5" zorst (no cats) Blitz SBC-iD running 16.61 psi

I Went To RR Day At THOR Today......
You could hear it very clearly on most. Some in particular made you cringe. a few say that the RR is puttin gon more resistance then the actul road in 4th. Others say that they have always run that psi on the roads without any det. And I think some just decided to wack the boost up. (I actually turned mine down for the first run).

I Went To RR Day At THOR Today......
342 HP which to me tells me that although the fuel and air may have been ok, the stock tub's hit a flat spot somewhere after 14.5. Looking at the graph they seemed to run out of puff.

Thor RR Any news?
Yeah Smithy was testing out his new 007 smoke screen on the way home. Don;t think he made it all the way, but wish him luck getting the problem sorted. Hope it's nothing too bad. Don;t think there were any other major problems, a few people had some det and Ajay broke the rollers, apart from that it all went well.

Battery / Fuel problem?????????
Does the car only take a while to start when cold ?. When warm does it start without a problem ?.

Rolling Road, My thread :)
Was an excellent day even though it was freezing, I think it was much better that RR at the sE open day last year. It was more of a analysis/dyno day rather than a what BHP have you got day. Turning up at that guys house on his private land was just so funny I was laughing too much to tell the cars behind me what was going on. Almost wet myself when that gypsie kid came out holding the tin kettle . Not sure why I found it so funny, I guess you just had to be there.

I Went To RR Day At THOR Today......
Yeah a fair few of us had to top up our oil, but no-one came close to the amount I put in  Not sure how much oil I put in Timmy, I filled it just before it overflowed  ;), yeah I should have checked the oil guys, and I was very lucky the engine didn't lock up. Really not sure where the oil went as it was last changed when SE worked on the engine. Wasn't getting any smoke or any oil leaks, so I'm a little puzzled, I'll have to keep an eye on it. Anyway, it seems as though the engine was very strong as I made 355.6 HP at the hub with no detonation. They had a good set up there. They were also very good with their advice and help. Started on 14.5 psi with the guys monitoring my Fuel and air via their wide band O2 sensor I crept up to 16.6 psi still with no detonation and perfect fuel and air ratio's. I thought 16.6 was a bit far but the guys said it was running fine. Still only going to run 14.5 psi on the roads though, just incase of bad fuel etc. I was very happy with the result to say the least. Thanks to Steve, ChrissyP and Mike for helping me with my ICE set up (and also Mike G's mate for the advice).

Rolling Road - 24th January 2004
Was a good day and I think people where more impressed with this set up that the SE rolling road. At first we though there may be a problem as 3 out of the first 4 cars seemed to be detting. How ever this seemed to be a coincidence as most of us had a nice smooth run. Good to see everyone again and also good to meet the new people. Some who travelled a great distance, which I thought showed immense enthusiasm. Didn't really get much video footage as it was too bloody cold and it took too long to se tthe cars up so, I decided to give it a miss for once. soory peeps, I may have a few clips which I will bung together if I get enough interest.

Conzult in North West (another misfire)
have you reset your ecu since you fitted the induction Mike ?. If not I would do it before the RR mate and let the mileage up there self learn itself.

What mods have you got?
LOL Paul, I put the extra 1 in there as a tester for Pete, he kept haggling me to put my mod list up, so I thought I'd put it in there to see if he actually read it, well to see if anyone read it. Two months later somone finally spots the deliberate mistake ;) Well done mate ;).

RR Southern Meeting times and points
Guys, Slight Change of Plan for the Meeting time at Lakeside. It's gonna have to be an earlier start than we thought, it will take us about an hour to get from Lakeside to the M40 junct 10. so we will have to meet at Lakeside at 06:30 and then meet up with Baggins, Alex etc at 07:30. Can anyone who was going to meet at Lakeside give me a buzz on 07970 412 143. As my home internet has been down for the past few days and I may not ber online after 5pm until after the event. Thanks Stuart

Conzult in North West (another misfire)
Guys, tell me if this sounds about right ? Symptoms Cold or warm at idle there is a little fluctuation very slight poping like a small misfire this is not on the beat as to speak but more of the car trying to clear it's throat kind of action. If you accelerate slowly in the same gear everything seems ok but then the car seems to become slightly jerky like it's holding back on the power. In extreme cases, the car will hit around 4krpm and cut the power completely. I had this problem with my car recently. I thought that becuase I have vents on the head light panel and bonnet it may be the MAS sucking in water as it's only just started happening recently in the rain season. I changed the MAS but it did the same thing. I cleaned the connectors but the same thing again. I thought about it for a while. When it cut the power (seemed ramdom) it always seemed to cut the power at around 4k rpm no matter what gear, so therefore it must be rpm related rather than air flow. Anyway to cut a long story short (too late for that now :D), It did this again two nights ago. I pulled over and decided to test my theory. I left the engine running whilst I wiggled around with the tps, to make sure it was connected ok, it wobbled a little but no noticeable difference was made to the tone of the engine. I got back in and hey presto, the car had come back to life, a nice smooth idle with no poping and there was no longer jerking as I slowly accelerated up to 4krpm. this was the real test, but I kept on accelerating to 4krpm, then 5krpm then I though ok now for some wellie, accelerated hard up to 130mph and it flew no holding back, no jerking or loss of power. So if your problem sounds like mine, then I would recommend cleaning the tps connector. I'm personally going to get hold of another connector and rewiring the whole thing as I'm sure that the brittle rubber seal is way past it's sell by date and I can;t wait to rip it open and see how greeen the wires are.
