Sounds about right to me! When you say on a run what sort of speed are you sat at? Also is the car manual or automatic?

Open Gardens 2010
Again this year the Gardens are Open at my house for Charity. This is not a Zed meet as such, just a charity event for Both the National Gardens Scheme and also RNLI this year. All events have plenty of parking but this may be in a fairly flat field – so judgement call on cars getting in and out. Tractors on standby if needed! The garden is not flat, so if you are bringing people with walking difficulties they may not be able to get around the entire garden. All being well the railway will be running with steam power. All the events will have teas and coffees and cakes available Sunday 6th June 2010 – RNLI Open Gardens http://www.rnli.org.uk/who_we_are/events/event_detail?articleid=549623 Garden open from 1pm-5pm Admission £2 accompanied children free Cream teas, Steam railway rides, tombola, raffle Stalls including: Cakes, books, plants, souvenirs Garden sign posted from A683 Sunday 30th May 20108 – National Gardens Scheme Charity Event 11:00 pm till 5:00 pm Attractions – see below Sunday 20th June 2010 – National Gardens Scheme Charity Event 11:00 pm till 5:00 pm Secluded 2-acre garden with many unusual trees and shrubs, sweeping lawns with beautiful herbaceous borders leading to large natural wildlife pond, gravel garden, pergolas with an abundance of roses and climbers, rockery, folly, woodland garden with natural stream, under development. Turbo's not boosting?? Maf sensor? help!
I'd take it back mate, no boost on these cars is NOT good, stupid stupid question but it is defo a turbo model yeah? Obviously a boost gauge in an NA would read the vacuum and right up to 0... :)

ideal shift changers
when the pistons come out its been revved too hard ;) It all depends on the engine, the 300zx's engine in turbocharged form to me doesnt need to rev as hard because all the power comes in the middle of the rev range. However, my old M3 was a different kettle of fish, 3.2 NA which needed to rev to do much! It had variable valve timing which helped but at 5000rpm there was a small surge in power right up to the peak power @ 7400rpm (or the redline technically 7550 but there we go!). So you had to rev the *****cks of it to go anywhere, which is fine but tiring to drive, where as having a huge great flat torque curve you can just use the mid gear oomph.

Your typical work day
Like wise sometimes busy sometimes not so bad... quick run down of this week: Left home 9 ish, arrive on site (rotherham) 11 ish leave at 5 stay in hotel, next morning on site at 9 (rotherham), leave at 11:30 to drive over to hull for 1:00 leave there at 4:00 visit another customer in hull leave at half 5 drive back to rotherham hotel. Back into rotherham at 8:00 leave there at 6:15 drive to birmingham arrive around 8 ish birmingham hotel Customers on both sides of birmingham and nuneaton to visit tomorrow (thursday) then a customer in manchester to visit on friday. Typical random busy week! Next week im supposed to be working from home all week, which will consist of me getting up when the phone starts to ring, having a shower around 11ish when it goes quiet then "working" until 6 ish and repeating until friday!

Big end price woes (non nissan content inside:D)
TO be honest the best approach ive always had is have the money available incase it breaks, 300zx's seem to have some sort of inbuilt function of monitoring your cash reserves... If you have the money to fix it then the are happy, as soon as you dont have the cash THEN they go wrong... Quite a clever technique for making people save! Problem is with anything quick is that its expensive to run, by nature its higher performance and so costs more to fix! Also if you are running on a budget then buying a cheap one isnt always a good idea, buy one that doesnt need the work and save your self the potential £1000's

Is This worth The Money?
It's a nice thing. I popped into the garage one day to have a look, it's where my first one came from. It's a lovely car but strong money. At the time the garage owner told me it wasn't his but selling for a friend. So I would say make an offer and see what happens, there a few topics about the car on here though so have a search for some of those. As the old saying goes it's only worth what people will pay. I would like to think in a few years that a few of our cars will be worth strong money again. I have a friend who's dad has a lovely mk2 escort it's worth a huge amount for an old escort but it's nice original and standard. It's about time our cars followed suit, good on people for sticking to strong money, it's as it should be!

Greddy Profec B Spec 2 thing
Cheers guys, when im next back at home on friday I will get the EBC settings. I have the book and do understand to some extent what each of the settings do, I just never have the time to actually go out in the car and change what i need to change to make it how I want it. What I was really wanting to know about is why when the EBC is switched off does the car boost to 0.8bar?

Greddy Profec B Spec 2 thing
Anyblobby?? Thank you!

Greddy Profec B Spec 2 thing
Right my car has a Greddy EBC fitted, it works fine ish. Its set to give 0.5 bar on low and 1.0 bar on high, displayed on a defi gauge. No problems there, apart from its quite laggy/no smooth when building boost. The car seems to build 0.5 quickly and then be a bit reluctant to increase up to 1.0 until its at higher revs. By that I mean the increase in boost pressure isnt smooth. Its not a major issue but its something I would like to fix, does anyone have their settings for their EBC written down anywhere so I could try them in mine? Anyway, last night i was driving home and it suddenly dawned on me that I could turn the EBC off so I though, aha i'll see what happens if its off. So turned it off and carefully put my foot down (watching the boost gauge incase the car went crazy, thankfully it did not) but what I got was a smooth build up of boost to 0.8bar. Which is odd as standard is 0.65 or so... And even odder because with my understanding the car should only have made 0.5 bar since the boost control system was essentially off... So whats going on guys???!

Haha true true. I do like that 260c coupe! How about an E34 5 Series, very elegant car and would certainly fit the sleeper look!
