Any sparks out there?
I'm in the process of sorting my kitchen out and have come round to the replacement cabling part of the job... I have ordered a new kitchen with a ceramic hob and single elecic oven. Originally it was all gas but that has been disconnected now... Basically I can't seem to find a proper answer as to what I actually need for the separate electric hob and oven. Having consulted a couple of people it seems that a single 6mm2 cable will be suitable to supply both appliances. Is this correct? At this stage I'm just running cable under the floor and into back boxes. At the moment the house has a nice 1950's fuse box which I will have replaced in the next few weeks. I just wanted to have all the new cable in ready for when that job is done. Thanks chaps

Ah some positive news then mate well done. A noble thing finding a car that has meant alot to a family member! Have you tried the different rolls forums? There might be an enthusiast thats got it or some one else who remember the car from its reg plate, its pretty unusual etc.

tracing an old car
Yeah looks like it sadly! The M5 is a monster totally inlove with it I have to say. After every drive, even to the shops I step out and think what a car! No replacement for displacement! Haha. I love the instant throttle response and torque at any engine speed makes getting past stuff comedy!

Mileage / Trip stopped counting up
Ah bloody hell I thought that was cured. As Andy said we managed to replace the motor as the old motor had siezed. Although I never had any issue with the horn or flashing the lights etc. It may well be an electrical connection, especially if the speedo is erratic and so not the same problem we fixed before. As in the total supply has gone, rather than the motor its self. I spoke to Jeff @ zedworld about this and he said he had seen one or two S4 cars with a similar issue, suprising considering the number of S4 cars. He was going to have a look into seeing if the motor was the same fitted to all models which would make finding a replacement alot easier The issue you might have with UK and US clocks is that the car is S4 and so has S4 clocks, thinking about it I would assume that some late US models would have had S4 clocks, but certainly not UK as they would have stopped at S2.

insurance warning
I had something similar happen to me, when I bought my m3 it came with a plate that was to be returned to the previous owner. Fine no problem apart from I bought the car through a dealer. Anyway paperwork took a while to get sorted but it's hard to say at what point mil2100 was to come of and r647dkx was to go on so I waited for the confirmation to come through which took ages. In the mean time the old owners of their car had just put mil2100 on their new car and promptly been in an accident so I got a snotty letter from my insurance explaining that they would appreciate it if I told them I had had an accident. Of course it's the first I knew about it. The mad thing was my insurance knew from the vehicle description that mil2100 was a merc slk by this time not the m3. So it then came to my renewal yet my insurance was horrific as the claim hadn't yet been settled for a car I didnt own hadnt ever driven or even seen involved in an accident 200 miles away. Eventually (after sending a photo of my car intact!!!) after much messing and negotiation I sorted it out and the quotes came sensible! Long story short be really careful when transferring plates!!

Thanks y'all

Weheyy you legend you bought it! I always wanted to get it for it but with the house renovation hard to justify :( Looks great though! Shes still looking stunning even in the rain! Andy, since I owned it its never had any reverse lights as they were wired as rear fogs, as its not an MOT requirement I didnt do much about it :)

Iphone Guru's...
Cheers vods, tried it and no joy... I'll go for the restore backup when I'm home tomorrow! Still got all the texts so I can keep numbers that might be of some "importance"... :)

Iphone Guru's...
Oh no its backed up from just before Xmas I think, which isnt the end of the world just drives you mad that it can do that without even the option to "undo". Ah well!

Iphone Guru's...
Bit of a weird one today, my 4s decided on its own (and I mean on its own) that it wanted to remove all of my contacts. I looked at it this morning and all was well, left the phone in the van came back a couple of hours later and no contacts in the phone! I dont have icloud, (although on the advice of other sites and in vain I have signed up to it and tried turning contact sync on and of but no better) I only have one hotmail account on the phone, that is set to NOT sync contacts and its been like that for a year or more. I'm away from home at the moment and don't have any acess to a backup from the computer although its going to be out of date anyway but its better than nothing. Does anyone have any idea why they have gone, and if there is a way I can get them back tonight?

best exhaust??
Yeah but that is SWB so about half the length of a LWB ;) hehe

Looking for SWB Manual
Ah I had a civic before that, 1.5 vtec-e beast all of 90 bhp and intergalactic gearing so it was slowww!

Mods....Sig size? too big?
She is looking good on there! :D

Looking for SWB Manual
Fair point! Very sensible, I had an E36 323i at 18/19 so had got used to 170bhp/180lbft and rwd by the time I had the first TT which was 300bhp+ and 280lbft If your set on an NA there is a nice black one for sale in blackpool, having seen it in the flesh its a nice car.

Looking for SWB Manual
There is a bit more to go wrong with a TT, but tbh you might as well buy a 330i if your going to buy an NA... The difference in performance is astonishing, fuel consumption is basically the same and although the TT has turbos to go wrong, IMHO i would say an NA would have had a harder life as they have to be revved harder to get anywhere.

Looking for SWB Manual
I think the 300zx in general is rare enough for it not to be that important if its LWB or SWB. Infact only people who have a 300zx will notice/care or even know that a SWB model exists. When I had the slicktop there were people who came over enthusing about it, got confused at the solid roof and I had to show them it had no backseats etc. FYI, I had a TT auto at 20. It was a massive hoot, loved it but it was quite expensive to live with and I was earning a reasonable wage, especally as I was doing 60 hours a week. My heavy foot coupled with the type of journeys I was doing it was managing 13mpg, and I was burning a tank of juice a weekend for fun after driving 1000 miles a week in a company van. General rule is buy the best you can for the money you have! There is always more time to buy the SWB tt model in time, but a LWB is more enjoyable in that your friends (legless of course) can come as well! Just check with the insurance though that you are declaring it as an import, if it is an import, as it will affect the insurance and probably not in a good way!

Realising Z32 dream in not too distant..
Welcome mate. To go through your list. SWB slicktop very rare especially with a manual and twin turbo engine so be prepared for a long wait I think you mean the 89 spec bumper, this was fitted from 89 to 98 where the bumper was changed to the 99 spec model, which is normally what people like to upgrade to. If you buy a car with a 99 spec bumper bet on getting 300 when you sell it, often you can get 89 spec bumpers for little or no money as they are normally taken of and upgraded VVT makes little difference on these cars, I think it was fitted up until the 96 model year but I could be wrong. 93 onwards on all JDM are heated mirrors as well, wether they work or not is a different story. all UK models had heated mirrors but they didnt fold. In the grand scheme of things though you can soon wipe a mirror... Leather interior is an easy fit, there are a few options on seats, blue cloth (nice), black cloth (nasty and cheap on later series cars) and leather (nice). The door cards are normally in a cloth either alcantara or nasty black stuff. Its all easy to recover or buy. I changed the entire interior in my last one in a couple of hours with stuff from a S2 UK model which was much nicer than my S4 JDM spec car. No pass airbag (i dont think) available on the Z32 drivers airbag on S3/4 onwards (94 basically), and pillar mounted seatbelts came in with a series 2 car, so late 92 onwards. HICAS, is to do with rear wheel steering and is nothing to do with traction control or anything like that. only available on a TT, it was hydraulic up until 94 and electric there after. I would say more than half of the TT's around have had it removed and its just something to go wrong really and can make the back a touch unpredictiable. Having that said my first TT had it, it worked and I liked it. The second didn't and it did feel more planted but that was a LWB vs SWB as well... Imports read in km, quite often there is a speedo converter fitted to change it so it reads in miles, but as they are analogue and so have a fixed reading people will say 110k in km and say 6k in miles and add it up to give a milage. However take all of them with a pinch of salt, most imports spend along time ona boat on the way over so quite often they can be "altered" to suit the market they are going to. Always buy on condition rather than milage! Imports are generally in better condition as japan doesnt use salt on its roads, especially if its a fresh import but there is less underseal on later cars so its often a good idea to get it done. In all fairness though, even the newest of these cars are 12 years old and oldest are 23, so its often worth getting them checked over to preserve them
