  1. There were some comparisons made a few years ago between different brands of timing belts and it was shown that the genuine Nissan belt was the only accurate one with the correct markings and tooth spacing. I think most people would advise on something as important as this that cheapest isn't always the best.
  2. No problem doing that as at one time or another my old S4 had S4, S2 and S1 seats in it! Along with a mixture of S4 and S2 interiors! As had been found for future reference even the S4 car had the wiring for twin electric seats despite the cut backs!
  3. If you are thinking about butchering the S4 set of clocks please don't! Sir Charles might want them...
  4. Haha contemporary tests of the tds was that it was nearly as fast as the 325i in every day use. If its that slow it must be a td... Do y think its running right? Shouldn't be that bad! Same engine as p38 diesel and omega although I'm sure you knew that!
  5. Perhaps he's rolled the car, or moved to Australia? :D
  6. Bwhahaha I thought that was pretty quick for me. Damit... getting a slight itch for something large and jap turbo, I think my friends would actually hit me in the face. I have a bit of a plan for a track car next year to be honest!
  7. Are we a TD or a TDS? Difference IIRC being the inclusion of an intercooler on the TDS which gave an extra 20bp or so over the TD
  8. Ha! what a monster. Good to see one of those still going strong. Good luck with it mate!
  9. Glad to see your still around Jeff! What the hell have you done to that to get 435ftlb out of it?! My M5 is only 369! Although based around the M52, the M5 engine has increased bore and stroke as well as a higher compression ratio, individual throttle bodies and different cams in order for it to produce 400bhp. A lot more to it than a remap, although you can remap them unlike your 525d which would response quite well being turbo charged the NA petrols won't really do a huge amount. Best all rounder has got to be the 530d, neck end of 200bhp standard can be mapped to 250 without bother but the torque figures are just out of this world. Although you need to be a touch careful with auto gearboxes as they can be a bit weak with the remapped diesels
  10. Looks amazing mate although I hope you wernt trying to dyno the front wheels...!
  11. How old is the PC? Possible that the BIOS requires an update to be able to recognise 500gb internal drive properly. Although it is strange that it was working properly. Could you try putting it back in its external caddy and formatting it through that or on another computer?
  12. To me it looks like a ratchet strap has been thrown over the back of the car and not quite made it... Or perhaps a stone chip/debris on the motorway as the truck was uncovered.
  13. Cool seems an odd choice putting that spoiler on, pity someone has ruined it with the bodykit but still nice to be a 98 build!
  14. S5 with that rear spoiler? Did you check any date stamps? Boost gauge in clocks?
  15. Happy birthday mate!
  16. Personally I think it wants burning with fire... Almost certainly a series 2 model so late 92 to early 94 ish mainly because of 89 spec rear spoiler although it has 3 point seat belts in the back which I THINK came in on an S2/S3. It also has alcantara trim which I think came in with Series 2 on a JDM car. Certainly not a 98 model year car, but the best things to check on other than looking for actual dates on seatbelts and carpets are the window switches and the dials should be white on a 99 spec car I believe. People fill in forms wrong all the time either by accident or on purpose..., Jeff posted some photos of an 03 plated car some time ago. My first one was supposed to be a 92 model, not in a million years at best it might have been a '90 model but I suspect it was an '89 but I didn't even think to check these things when I bought it. By far the best car/bargain for sale is Deans silver SWB Slicktop, but then I would say that! ;)
  17. Hell fire mate quite a big announcement! Good luck with your retirement and I feel privileged to have met you! I'm glad the business will live on and hopefully look after 300zx's for many years to come!
  18. Bargain! Where did I put that credit card...
  19. To be honest guys the lack of meets is probably my fault as my REO'ing isn't that good. At one time there were very few members in the Manchester area but there seems to be more and more. Perhaps it might be better if someone else nearer the area were to take over REO'ing. To be honest I'm not even sure how someone else gets nominated for it. I'm joint with Turb0z but Pete isn't often on the forums anymore and I don't even have a zed anymore and whilst we live further north I'm over an hour from Manchester which makes it harder as there are next to no members near me apart from Steve in Morecambe. Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter?
  20. I didn't extend my drop curb as its not large anyway and there was already one there for the original drive. I did mine in a weekend though with some friends. Cost was 2x bags of the blue gravel @ £100 a bag 7x (I think) 20mm to dust @ £30 a bag sthil saw whacker and tractor hire came in @ £150 I think (That's for the big beast, the little one was a friends he tool the soil and rubble to use for drainage in the farm yard and cost me £50 in diesel) £600 or so + a few bacon butties and a BBQ when we were finished :) http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?163102-Garden-to-Driveway&highlight=
  21. This looks fantastic! So pleased to see one being saved properly! Are you going to use clear underseal on the freshly painted arches/underside or just leave it as paint?
  22. All sounds awesome mate, I think I need a ride out in it though to make sure its all ok you know, my expert ear etc. Don't want you getting into trouble with it.... :) Are you in the land of living at the moment?
  23. Lovely looking car... Please put he standard mirrors on it though! As an M3 will pull up next to you one day! I do like a clean e36... there is quite a bit of power to be found in that M52 2.5 motor, M50 manifold and throttle body plus one or two other bits should see it nearer 190bhp instead of 170.
