  1. Ha! its a bit small actually, and a bit full of crap atm. But we can soon knock it down and build a bigger one! I'm a bit unsure if the old girl will even fit down before this wall is gone! Zed might struggle as well... Oh he didnt!
  2. Not in the same line, but some cars like alfa romeos (alfasud, 75 iirc) have the gearboxes mounted at the back despite being front engined, obvious they offer "remote" control of the gearbox. Also anything with the engine in the wrong end, 911, beetle (same thing really ;) ) must have some system of cables, leavers etc. Obviously not the same type of car etc but there might be some inspiration as to how to adapt a 300zx manual gearbox etc.
  3. Thanks mate! Good luck with yours :) Umm possibly, cant remember what I showed you lol Picture attached below I have discovered that the drive isnt quite as wide as I thought it was, when reversing my astra van down.. hmm one bush needs to go at least! A stupid 12" high wall in the middle of mine and next doors drives wants fetching down as well! Thanks mate, its taken some doing i'll give you that. I'm sure when the state of mortgages improves you'll get something sorted, alot of places offering an extra 5% on the deposit through the vendor, sounds quite good!
  4. Thanks mate, begining to eat at me now! Want to go and get them! lol On the otherhand I dont, as there is such alot of work to do on the house...!
  5. haha, well im only working from home. Gonna tie a few loose ends up and go in this afternoon I think.
  6. Just at "the call" from the estate agents, the keys are ready for collection for my new (and first eek!) house! Problem is, I'm supposed to be working!
  7. again a real top bloke! Helped me out several times, and Jamie too - unparalleld knowledge of SWB cars!
  8. lol, i felt such a tw4t driving this dam thing today, couldnt even outrun a combo van! (Think it was the 1.3cdti as well shame :censored:) However, managed to do 2 nugets of juice on the fuel thing in about 18 miles so :thumbup1:
  9. True, awful that the chevy badge is put towards such a heap of shit!
  10. What nice bits have you got on your car?? ;) Vulchers circling...
  11. Its been a long morning! :D Dropped my top spec astra van of for service and i've been given a chevy as a courtisy car.... A chevy spark that is! Hand on heart, the worst car I (and my dad, I made him have a go for comedy value) have ever driven. Never in my life have I appreciated every other vehicle I have ever owned more!
  12. 1. Oh dear, quite a big job to replace the rear brake lines and a weak spot - good thing they went on MOT. I believe you have to remove the rear subframe but its possible if your good mechanically. 2. Not sure exactly what bit he means, there was a technical document from nissan around that area stating that some play was "acceptable". However, since for the above job the rear subframe is probably coming of I cant imagine its a huge job to fettle once its all in bits 3. The emissions, well most zeds fail on emissions... however the car SHOULD NOT be tested as a 350z, its because there is no model data for the 300zx and so just has to pass a "BET" basic emissions test (IIRC?) which is much less stringent. However there are some issues i would say due to the very bad emissions, is it decatted? Any vacuum leaks?
  13. Damit! I was only at that bloody mcdonalds two weeks ago! Lucky chap, I've never managed more than a free apple pie!
  14. Nothing you can do then really if your work won't pay for it! As I said the only way to claim it would be if your company would allow you to claim for it, my office is in glasgow, I do go up there maybe once every couple of months and I claim that. (Along with every other night away!) Only think you can do is find a cheap B&B and perhaps do a deal with them. I'm sure they would do you a discount for a continuous booking, especially through the off season.
  15. I doubt it, as its classed as a business expense. You should be able to claim it back from your company, who will claim the vat back on it. The company I work for, we have to stay away alot and I have a company credit card (just because of the amount spent) but if I didnt I would have to spend my own money and submit the receipts and get a refund, where as now I just submit the receipts and they claim the vat back. Unless you get the B&B to invoice the company direct (if they will you/company credit)
  16. I think they are for later cars, not entirely sure on the specifics the the plenum design changed around 94, those injectors are for 94 onwards cars... Fine if you have a later car but no good if you don't. I cant remember, im sure someone else will but do all aftermarket injectors require something extra in earlier engines?
  17. It is an obvious one, but when you look at replacement targas make sure they are from a LWB car, as the SWB ones are different :)
  18. I'll be up for this! Assuming the dates work out :)
  19. I have to say I actually meant to say cavalier coupe! Was thinking about it and chuckling to my self on the motorway before. Vectra A :)
  20. Well not much different, vectra coupe = calibra! :D
  21. Ah maybe, it was a V6 i know that... from the exhaust note :)
