  1. lol right, just nothing registered on the speedo is there? Had seen it on the redline... obviously if that was in 5th then those zeds were very VERY quick!
  2. make me an offer on mine mate... :D Nice clean low milaege jap TT auto!
  3. what the hell was the beemer?! in what gear?!
  4. ... In conzult, sometimes my auto gearbox doesnt pick up :S Does anyone know of any particular reason why it might not? Just a bit strange, everything else is okay, (aircon, hicas, engine etc) and can i have a definitive answer from someone who knows exactly what an 02 sensor should do at; A: Tick over B: Cruising C: Hard Acceleration Thanks guys!
  5. Believe it or not its true i have a second car to go to work in, and iv calculated that it saves me £1900 a year in commuting fuel. But i had the buy a car this year, and once iv insured it and taxed it for 12 months i still save £400 in this first year. (only bought a £500 laguna, but it does me to commute in)
  6. my indicators have stopped working before now.... a short sharp belt to the steering column fixed it... :)
  7. mine did this once, and i _think_ it does down to the imobiliser being shorted out. I plugged the car into my laptop (was clutching at straws thought id check conzult) and then tried it and it started... nothing to do with conzult, because the laptop was still starting windows when i plugged it in... and then it worked. Its only done this once, but it might be a similar thing.
  8. Its one of the ways of doing it in imports, mine has the middle two brake lights disconnected and wired up to a big red switch on the dash. (So when ever i brake the "brake light" warning light, lights up... annoying!) But back to the point, im sure UK cars did have front fog lights?? and jap cars didnt have rear fog lights as standard thats why they have these daft mods lol. But its better than the "micra style" random red box hung underneath the back bumper!
  9. how has this not sold?! Id be over there with a truck to stick it all on in 5 mins if i wasnt so cash strapped :( Why couldnt you sell 6 months ago when i was buying :o
  10. ive run a 4800+ x2 for nearly 2 years now and its never once given grief... sli has given the odd issue but nothing major. i would say there is another fault. Random crashing and locking up is probably memory related. Could be somthing as simple as the timing settings on your memory (no nothing know it alls are addicted to increasing memory timings beyond what the memory is capable of and being suprised when it crashes.. seen it too many times!) By patches do you mean operating system patches or game patches? Or what? It COULD be an issue with the mainboard, if you know what model it is post it up and we can have a look as to if there are any issues. May be a case of updating the bios to add support for a certain peice of hardware you have or resolve stability issues.
  11. ah well, i had a biker have a good go who didnt see 2 tons of jap sports car, right behind petes car... He must have been dazzled from the paint job... or more likly brain dead. had some zafira pull out in front of me on the way back, good thing i was only going slow. and THEN had a van have a little go in the village just before the A66, came trundling down the hill it was indicating and it just tried to pull infront of me, obviously hadnt seen the invisable 2 ton jap sports car! so i anchored on again and slid to a halt (well abs works at least!), when we both stopped we were looking at each other i admit he did look mildly concerned that he come within inches of writing my car of... the guy behind him in the golf shook his head!
  12. Doesnt make much difference... you still get the performance with the data security...
  13. was a good day! Although i was late (as usual) and it seems that the penrithians were out to kill me on the way home.... they had three attempts!
  14. well technically because there is two they are twice as likly to fail, but i have run striping raid arrays for 6 years or so and (touch wood) never had a drive fail on me To be honest, you can tell if a drive is going to fail so its not so much of an issue. And drives dont fail as much as they used to these days. If its not critical data then just have the two drives, get them set up in a striping raid and you will be quite pleased with the results i think! You have the next board up from me, yours has the two full 16x pci express ports (where as in mine the pci express ports end up as 8x when you use graphics card in SLI) Have a look through the manual shoudl tell you how to do it
  15. Yes you probably would, with large data transfers especially. You could look at running two drives in a striping raid, you will get a 50% performance increase there as well (even better with rapters) BUT i will stress that by doing that you have increase your potential drive failure rate. Is the data critical? Alternativly to that you can employ some redendancy and use 4 drives to have it striped and then mirrored. Im pressuming your machine can do this without the purchase of extra controllers... since it must have a good mainboard. (This arrangement will use the PC to do the actual work within the raid array, but i wouldnt say you will notice the slow down! Especially with the performance increase) Rapters spin at 10k, vs 7200rpm for most IDE/SATA Hard disks this is where the performance bonus comes from, but they do produce quite allot more noise!
  16. lol its funny you should mention that... because TurboZ and several others plus my self were looking at my car today, and altho it claims to boost to 13psi, there are not any boost jets as far as we can see, so faulty gauge.... But plan to get a boost controller on it and just check what it is actually boosting at. Then if it is higher i have to do some detective work and find out why Problem with this dam zed of mine is that i have no idea whats on it. Every week there is a little suprise here, and another there. Not always good ones but there we go!
  17. ;) time to get a boost controller ordered up me thinks!
  18. i cant believe you didnt push it... its a button. All buttons, especially red ones have to be pressed at all cost!
  19. lol mine did have the original seals... but i broke them to have a look! Was a nice suprise to see that big gold sticker glaring back at me!
  20. I discovered today (with the help of repeated phone calls to AndyP, thanks again mate!) that my car has a Mines ECU, fitted in Japan. Does anyone know anything about it/them? All i could find out about it was this snippet of info. Rev limit: 7550 v 7000 for stock VTC solenoid: 4900 v 5900 Mines ecu at low TP at low rpm actually runs slightly leaner than stock At low rpm and high TP it runs more lean. High rpm and low TP is identical High rpm and high TP more lean Mines runs more advanced timing at high rpm, high TP and through mid rpm, and mid TP ranges, but is largely identical elsewhere. Mines runs a almost idential knock timing map as its primary map. It also runs an identical fuel map as its primary map, except the closed loop section is larger. Closed loop is where the oxygen sensors are used in determining the injector pulse width.
  21. no worries gavo! that video was ages ago when i first got the car! I'll do another one when iv got the boost controller fitted (since that video its actually had a better exhaust and the old k&n induction kit has come of for an apexi) And i've now discovered that its chipped.... lol so i'm in the market for a boost controller!
  22. Thats just your Jap ecu limiting the speed! Nothing to worry about. Yeah KTC = Keighly Trade Centre :) It looked nice on the website! How do you mean doesnt have kick? It doesnt accelerate as you thought it would?
  23. The ideal voltage output from o2 sensors, at idle under load etc etc, does anyone have a target voltages or ranges they should be in? In conzult this is. Also, ive downloaded the rom from my ecu... would someone take a look at it for me and see if its "normal" lol... If someone wouldnt mind looking at it, add me on msn: chriscave686@hotmail.com probably easiest to chat about it. Ta in advance!
  24. auto gearbox oil dip stick is the back left of the engine, look behind the balance tube mine has a yellow top to it!
