HID need fitting Rear lights need fitting and also get rid of that bloody BUZZING Tension rod bushes to fit Braided brake lines to fit Lots of bits of trim to fit EBC to fit (only had that 3 months!) Then bodywork Then suspension Then brakes Then engine... ££££££££££££££
  2. :O My transmission change cost ALOT less than that!!!!
  3. ahhh ask me one on sport! Appears to have been factory fit system on alot of cars, rovers, bmw's etc so i expect it was an OEM supplied "aftermarket" (i.e 3rd party) alarm, fairly common in the 90's. So fobs should be readily available but i wouldnt like to say where from
  4. Your welcome to have a look at mine if you like. Although its practically standard, you have a look around and compare. Let me know next time your up around lancaster. Chris
  5. quick search on google would suggest its an alarm reciever box. Bit of a technical document on it here...
  6. your taking me for a spin bitch!
  7. lol..... that cant be good with the roads near you... and id say some pretty dismal fuel economy... Although a pornographic engine note :D
  8. to be honest, all zeds seem to start differently, and each are different each time. Ironically if mine is warm and its started it has to be cranked longer than if its cold, when its cold its instant lol touch the key and it starts.. But you hear a carpark of 6 start up and they are all different!
  9. Aye mine too... Was -3 last night and it rumbled into life no bother!
  10. Are you getting confused with the sutton bank meet?? ;) Thats on the 2nd... this is in April!
  11. Sadly an urban myth - but a nice idea. I think the real story is that a guy who used to own a chain of car dealerships bought them and stashed them in the barn, after some years asked a photographer to document what was in there. Although it is a very odd story, for someone to collect 180 or so cars and not have logged what was in there suprises me.
  12. mm i know. Cant decide if i want get rid of my hicas or not.. Im not even sure if it works lol... But i know its got brand new rear arms!
  13. Im interested - let me know on money and more importantly how tough is this to fit? Just need a ramp and some technically minded friends? Or do we need specialist equipment?
  14. lol i stand corrected... was sure that was an elite... Bloody similar!
  15. http://support.euro.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=uk&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=DIM_PNT_9200_XPS_420&os=WLH&osl=EN thats the dell download site for your machine, i firmly suggest you update your bios for one. An issue of a download classed as "Urgent" is normally a sign of "we ****ed up... etc" Only released a month ago so its unlike your PC has that... Give it a try :)
  16. what model of dell machine is it mate (theres the problem, its a Dull ;) hehe)
  17. as a rule you cant do it. I mean, you can but with maximum buggering about. Its not that there is a default password - that would be pretty pointless. Like having a default key to car! Youve got the remember that the operating system is made up of rules, no password no entry - so the only way to do it, is going to be somthing along the lines of use another PC to browse the hard disk, then run some sort of 3rd party application to remove the rules. (end of the day vista is just going to have a record of users and passwords somewhere which is just data, same as any other and there will be a utilitiy out there to rememdy it) Alternativly, if you dont wish to remove hard disks, as Andy P suggested there will be some sort of linux based tool to do it. But you wont be able to do it from a logon screen (i very much doubt it anyway) nor will you be able to do it without alot of fecking about, its supposed to be secure! And as the pillock who mentioned removing a password from an OS by removing the battery, he should be shot at dawn, stoned with old hardware, and shot some more. These south africans ;) God knows what he means by freezing it... generally just removing it from the machine for 15 seconds or so (making sure its unplugged from the mains) does the trick... Not always the case tho with dell machines (some toshs possible as well) especially laptops - some of those have hard coded passwords from new, and are registered with the manufacturor. It is possible, to get a bios password for those out of dell etc, with alot of effort. an unlock code can be generated from a mixture of the current date, the manufactured date and also the serial number of the machine i believe it is.
  18. hmm right, might be an idea to disable the sound in the bios, and then try it. If that cures it (altho no sound) then you've got your answer, then time to look for some drivers/bios update that makes it work. Incidently, what is your onboard sound?
  19. Ah yeah, I remember now. We've talked about this before. Hmm, just had a thought what mainboard is in that machine? ((im actually interested in its chip set and network cards...) Also one other thought do you have any dongled software, (i.e hardware lockd software on that pc? i doubt it but its another slim possibility)) I remember seeing somthing like this with a machine (no idea what chipset it was) but particular software communicating over a network refused to run when certain hardware/drivers were in use.
  20. will be a good day i think. Food is meant to be really good at this place now - not been for many years! Come on guys, first meet of the year for the North West group - lets make it a big one!
  21. Thats a lotus elite ;) Duh! RedZed. With regard to what you have written. Im sadened by what your going through. I cant even contemplate what it must be like. I;d like to offer my sympathy and hope your son makes a full and swift recovery. Chris
  22. ;) no problemo! lol Vista is just new... everyone hated XP when it came out. stated that 9x was far superiour... Vista will come good in 6 months or so... when people are used to it. Have you always had vista john? or have you just upgraded?
  23. i would say, go to control panel, then "system and maintainence" then system, and it should say if its 32 or 64 bit :) Clicky Find the picture and make it bigger... might help :D
  24. im not sure it is a speed 12... There supposed to have all been broken and used as spares to keep the racers going. Apart from one that was rebuilt and sold at vast cost..!
  25. Well i would hazard a guess that the owner has died and left them to someone un interested in cars and unaware of what they or. Or something drastic has failed with them, rendering them worthless and people havnt had the money to repair, or the heart to get rid of. So they end up rotting, reminding them of more lucrative times :) Very sad, the 348 (is it? next the countach) looks especially forlorn. Whats the purple one? and the F40 is really tugging at my emotional side!
