Id say a good half of the cars that come from Jap land are chipped before leaving, end of the day they ar a cheap fast car over there.... And you know what the japs are like, if its quick it needs to go quicker! Mine had a mines chip, which i didnt know baout when i bought it but was fitted in Japan, still had all the original Mines seals on it with its Serial Number. Cant say how much difference its made, since ive only ever driven mine (both as an auto and a manual) but it certainly feels quick (compared to my 2.0 HDI xsara lol) I must get my on some rollers at some point!

Most companys put a low value on so you arnt charged so much. I think i paid £30 duty and handling from UPS for the customs and taxes, so wasnt bad on a clutch (made my stage 2 organic carbon clutch and lightened flywheel £260 delivered or so)

I tihnk my clutch came from Gripforce of Ebay, very helpful and speedy service. Not used any of the rest though, i have resisting buying turbos from over there, although im geting weaker on a daily basis.

standard they are T2/T25 hybrids, manual and auot are similar, however the auto turbos are slightly smaller to aid spool up time and suit the different cams in the auto cars. (264* vs 278 i seem to remember?) I think the housings are the same size just the actual impellors/compressors are different. I could be wrong though :)

However when an engine is running or just been running, all the oil is up in the head, and not in the sump. So it does give the impression of being lower than it actually is.

Id say tension rod bushes, mine does this, its had it since i bought the car and i only realised what it was after everythign else had been changed! End of the day, for the money the are worth changing anyway im sure it will be those!

Or you can meet up with everyone else at Forton Services Its about 1:10 from J34, and we are due there about half 11, so id say if you want to meet me i'll be @ J34 about 10:10 or so so you want to be on the M55 at 9:30 on order to get to me for about 10:10 (incidently, you would be at forton about 10 ish then)

Engine out job im affraid, Oh and the rear sub frame has to be dropped to release the wiring loom hehe.... thats about the ONLY job i can do on a car is change the side repeaters!

Either that or meet me at J34 Holiday Inn or whatever its called, thats where i'll be waiting to meet pete and graham etc as they rumble north. :) About 30 mins to Forton (almost J33) and 40 mins to J34 from blackpool Plenty of people about going up so you wont get lost :)

I had mine done i love driving it "out and about" but on the motorway the auto was brilliant, bad for fuel consumption but brilliant for kicking down and roaring past stuff... I could do the same with the manual but im too lazy. Not that it struggles to pick up speed, but the thrill of doing 80 to 130 in 3rd was just awesome :D But i wouldnt go back - although i would buy another auto TT to accompany my manual.. LOL

depends what you call a full tank, its actually somthing like 72 litres, but ive never got more than 57 in mine since the gauge is so inaccurate. of that 55 to 60l ish i get around 220 (17-18mpg) with a mixture of all driving, some booting some cruising some town now its a manual raising to 300 if i drive like jesus on the motorway, which equates to about 24mpg. Temperature gauge just going to zero is going to be a temperature sendor failing - mines done it once, went over a cats eye and it came up again lol Id look at sorting that boost leak out, once youve fettled that then turn your attention to the fuel economy. End of the day your getting about 15mpg (if you get 55 litres in) which isnt far off what i used to get out of mine when it was an auto... raising to 240 miles on all motorway. http://www.torquecars.com/tools/uk-mpg-calculator.php

I had this exact thing once, just randomly happened 100 miles from home... I was begining to panick so as a last ditch effort i had my laptop with me and plugged it into my datascan/conzult lead. As it was still booting windows i thought id just give it one more try, and it started first time. So i came to the conclusion that it had picked up some sort of electrical/static charge that the laptop discharged (remember i hadnt even started windows by this time!)

Okay - so what options do we have with REAR disks lol... Whos got what on the rear, i did see some black diamond ones for sale at somepoint. Cant remember where though. Oldzed - might not be standard ish forever LOL will need good anchors at some point - i'll be honest ive got a thing for good brakes!

ah yes i remember the topic. SO can anyone find me a set of R33/R34 GTR calipers quick look on ebay and all i could find was a pair of fronts from australia with a starting bid of 480 + 50 postage or so
